Ok, old client synced, gonna try sync the updated one in a few minutes.

QcJEPYD73iuRWrnD3C9FQPVGZSHNFo9Vyf , if anyone is feeling generous.

Should i add or scrap the idea of Q-nodes (masternodes) ? I like the concept because it's something i can expand on in my spare time

You should probably start a new thread cause the original post lists wrong block explorer

I think i will start one once I have successfully synced and tested the new client. Meanwhile, Would be nice if long time community members also had their say with regards to my actions and suggestions. As well as contacting the exchanges to get their position on the updates.

Are you for or against the possible addition of custom Q-Nodes ?

I would surely run a Q-node. Will it be like a coin mixer such as Dash like?

Running master nodes would get a lot of QTL off the exchanges.

Really like what DNET is doing with its master nodes http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/darknet/  (I am holding and running a DNET MN)

Not sure if it's me or the original dev, but something about PoW doesn't add up. the genesis has nBits == 0x1e0ffff0 but when you try to verify it, it should come up as 0x1e0fffff. this is what was preventing the new client from syncing.

I've made a temporary work around, but I will investigate further . Meanwhile it's syncing pretty well.

MarKus the dev has always wanted it to be scrypt POW only, and the b.r. is pretty low and decreases every 2 years so it really doesn't need to be messed with. The big selling point of this coin was the QTL trader tool/bot, and it doesn't work with Poloniex anymore, and Cryptsy is gone, so only works with Bittrex. I have talked briefly to MarKus a couple times over the last year and he said he was going to fix the Poloniex bug in the trader, the price spikes up, and then he doesn't take the freaking 10 minutes to do it and goes awol for 6 months again. I really don't get him, because before that he was always honest and got things done in a timely fashion. Then his real job made him work 60hrs a week and he sold and gave away all his premine so I guess he lost interest. But I wouldn't change a thing other than DGW update and trying to get him to fix the trader, lol

^^ what he said  Wink

QTL trader BOT is the source code you want to get your hands on.

The Viking was working on QTL trader with Markus the dev before Markus went AWOL

Vikings twitter is: https://twitter.com/fyrstikken

and a video he made about QTL Trader: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qOCQBECcZhM

Yes the block reward is pretty low, I do not intend to mess with it, rather just make it clearer. Conflicting information is never a good thing. Especially since i am updating the code to match almost 4 years worth of development, many things will need to be made extra crystal clear so there is no confusion.

With regards to PoW, the more i think on it , the stronger the arguments for adding merged mining.

Low PoW reward means most miners will avoid it unless there is a pump, but having a merged mining pool would result in regular blocks regardless.

It's really up to users.

Just want to point out that the website could be better....loads better.  Tongue

Would you please try to contact these guys and get the source code for the trader? It would be a great start, but also, having just the one selling point won't be enough.

edit:- I intend to have multiple vps with pools and block explores setup and paid for for years in advance.

The only benefit with this coin was the trader. It was cheap and had some flaws but it worked for a short while.
Good luck with retriving the source code from them. I dont think that will happen without paying them.  Grin

This chain is a messy  Cheesy

Code:
2016-12-14 01:59:37 ERROR: AcceptBlock: bad-cb-height, block height mismatch in coinbase (code 16)
2016-12-14 01:59:37 ERROR: ProcessNewBlock: AcceptBlock FAILED

I'd like to standardize everything if possible. Seems the old client would allow mixing of block versions.

There is an open source Qt trader in circulation. Push come to shove , we could adapt it.

I have a copy of the last version available of Quatloo Trader 2.3

Is clean but always remember use an antivirus, download at your own risk

Right now only works on Bittrex, you need 3000 QTL to have access to trade, arbitrage doesnt work right now because this bot dont work on Poloniex.

I hope it helps, the file will be available for 30 days, if anyone needs the bot after i can upload it again.

Great, thank you. That is the windows version though. If anyone can get their hands on the source code, we can get moving.

I've uploaded the updated  Quatloo client here :- https://github.com/BlockMechanic/quatloo-0.13 . it still needs extensive testing and a solution for the nBits issue, but it syncs just fine now. Once everything is ironed out, maybe we can make a windows and mac versions.

I have tested open a source qt trader that was freeware. It was good. Probably the same you have seen.

I will work on adding Q-nodes on a separate branch over the next two days. Is there a functional block explorer out there ?
