in my view the web site should be the place where someone - especially those who doesn t know anything about crypto scene- can find these informations:
My world view, is that Marking and getMarked will be the public face for the every day person, with the complex crypto part abstracted away. Think Bitmark as the core, and Marks/Marking as the daily use front. For that reason, I suppose the Bitmark website for now is targeted more at the crypto aware, and is to serve three purposes: 1. To send those seeking information to that information quickly (miners to pool, people to downloads, etc) 2. To overview the project to people like those in this thread, to developers, service providers, and interested parties so that may join and discuss our approaches, become part of the community. 3. As a channel to quickly notify as to what we are doing, and seek input from anybody who is willing. Perhaps the word 'portal' is more applicable, until such a time that it becomes a community, and then a technical resource area.

Oh, another important thing but not necessarily immediately critical would be a step by step guide for people to get started with Bitmark. 6
Also, maybe even some additional guiding for people not familiar with crypto. 3(for now, more important in the future)
Media kit. 2(again, for now)
Step by step guides are good for newcomers. +1

Media kit. 2(again, for now)
Step by step guides are good for newcomers. +1 I wholeheartedly agree, to cover things like using the client, backing up, restoring, generating addresses, etcetera. This is out with my set of skills, do any of you have the skills to do this, perhaps collaboratively, or know anybody that may? I see we are close to refining a specification of what is required, perhaps a few more replies and we can propose something. Current Topic: Please all list what you feel it is important to provide on the Bitmark website, perhaps with a number 1-10 of importance beside each item.

1. Bitmarks Vision, concise and direct 2. Basic coin info: - Algorithm
- Downloads
- Pool links
- Project communication links (GitHub, IRC, Bitcointalk.org)
- Project links (Bitmark.com / GetMarked.org)
3. IPM integrated into a site “TAB” with layman info 4. Perhaps integrate a twitter feed: @ProjectBitmark last 3-5 tweets 5. What makes Bitmark Different (separate from vision) - perhaps lower on the page

Some of you heve already covered the aspects and subjects we should give priority in the site.
However, I would like to see live mini stats in a little box somewhere on the mainpage. I mean price, net hash, blocks info, even random live data (I guess we have plenty of ways to mirror some cool numbers on that). A small chart showing some relevant function progress. Those are things people like to see, and appreciate. I like monitoring everything (who doesn't?). If I have a small panel with live relevant data about the coin while I browse the portal, queue on IPM, or post some thoughts at the forum, it would be super cool and useful resource, I think.
Like coinsolidation said, it's good we begin to think 'the site' more like the Bitmark portal and design it with that already in mind.

These were actually my own priorities to have ready also, almost all of the things you suggest are ready to have charts made and added We have all the live data from the entire network, and the IPM pool, ready to utilize, streamed as real time updates also where applicable. So far I have three dashboard views in production: 1. IPM dashboard 2. Network and Mining overview - health, hashrate, difficulty, estimated next difficulty, mining calculators, info for miners, links to pools and documents etcetera 3. Block explorer, to be more like blockchain.info by the time I am finished From what you suggest I would also propose: 4. project overview - commits, new integrations, posts / tweets, comments on things like trello etcetera 5. a mini overview of 1-5

Thank you all.
I will propose the following initial website structure, we can finalise and refine each page as once it is created.
Header Navigation About | Download | Project | Network & Mining | FAQs | Explorer | IPM Pool
Landing Page
Wide Deep Top Panel Top Center: Vision - A condensed overview of what Bitmark is and what the project goals are. Left: Bitmark, Right: Marking read more.. links to a
Row of Three Panels 1. Download... description then links through to Release Page 2. Mining... description then links through to Network and Mining Overview 3. Project... description then links through to Project Overview
Wide Narrow Panel Community / Informative Links... twitter, reddit, irc, this thread, trello, github, wiki Development / Software Links... third party software, forked applications, tools
Panel of Live Stats Anything useful and interesting in chart form.
Right Side Panel IPM... Intro and (live?) Summary Statistics
Other Pages Description / Why ... page describing the two facets of the project (stable crypto currency, adoption programs) and info on why that is important Download... Release Page, with all info you expect, downloads, basic coin configuration with links to rationale Network and Mining... health, hashrate, difficulty, estimated next difficulty, mining calculators, info for miners, links to pools and documents etcetera Project... commits, new integrations, posts / tweets, comments on things like trello etcetera FAQs, Explorer, IPM Pool ... all as expected
Unhanded A blog... needed later? most will be handled by the 'Project' overview page. Project roadmap... is it required to start? does trello provide this?
Hopefully the light structure is enough for us agree and move forward.
Do any of you have any corrections or commissions?

Project roadmap... is it required to start? does trello provide this?
I think Trello would cover the roadmap, at least in the early stages. Once the project gets bigger, it might be important to say "This is our plan. We will do this step next and deliver it by this date." But, I don't think that's important right now. Would you consider the GetMarked project as part of the core of Bitmark? Or is it a separate project/application built on top of the Bitmark technology? If it's not part of the core, I would split it out more on the website. It is weaved very close to the core Bitmark information. I would categorize it under the 3rd party software, or possibly under a new "official software" category. Since I imagine more projects will be built later, I would hate to see the core Bitmark information get lost in the sea of other Bitmark projects.

Since I imagine more projects will be built later, I would hate to see the core Bitmark information get lost in the sea of other Bitmark projects. We will have a more formal project overview and roadmap soon, Medic is working on that. Your getMarked question is very pertinent and we must make this clear. From the new OP, it is described as follows Project BitmarkProject Bitmark is an initiative to create an every day use alternative currency. - A stable and balanced cryptographic currency named Bitmark
- A massive adoption programme under the banner of Marking
Bitmark is the core cryptographic currency, it's primary objectives are to be safe, secure, fast, actively developed, and easy to integrate for services and adopters. read moreMarking is a novel adoption initiative which enables every day people to use cryptographic currency in every aspect of their lives. read more
Under the banner of 'Bitmark' comes the standard client, api stuff, block explorers, mining, tools to use the block chain, and all the normal crypto currency things we see. Under the banner of 'Marking' comes everything to do with wide spread user/service/business adoption and it is our primary focus. I encourage every one who hasn't to read the Marking document which details every aspect of how we will approach wide spread adoption. The adoption side feeds requirements back in to Bitmark as time progresses, and Bitmark development will be responsive to the requirements of the varied user base provided by Marking. I seek to refine and clarify this description further until such a time that it is no longer needed.

OK. The coin is on an exchange now. The free market is now available to all. Including morons.. Some idiot is selling for under 10K satoshis. He either has free electricity or no brains or probably both.

And so we reach another milestone in Bitmark's journey... Have been very much AFK for a few days - much to digest and absorb! All very interesting!
