True, the chargeback mechanism in ebay is exploited on a daily basis to screw up legit merchants, but I think BTC having no chargeback features as of right now may also arise some unexpected problems, like a legitimate chargeback being needed. How would you go about it if you needed to return a malfunctioning product or something?

With a proper escrow system you don't have to worry about chargebacks... refunds should totally be part of the design of a trustless marketplace but not at the buyer's descretion. With turing complete scripts or peter todd's new OP you can do trustless reversals.

Majority of the seller on eBay wont understand the complicacy of OpenBazaar, let alone there is no reason to trust some anonymous escrow.

Anybody knows if they will provide shipping too? OR we will need to use our own shipping service?
What do you mean by our shipping services ? Basically the seller ship to the adress provided by the buyer . Check here for more informations on how it works : https://blog.openbazaar.org/buyers-guide-to-openbazaar-beta-0-4/"Clicking on “Order Details” on the bottom left will bring you to a screen that allows you to purchase the product. You can determine the quantity desired, and attach a comment for the merchant to see along with your order. If you haven’t entered your shipping address in Settings already, a red warning will ask you to do so before proceeding. The price for the product and shipping and handling are displayed again."

I'm not even remind you the enormous amount of scamming going on. Agreed 1000% with you mate , Ebay is most likely the most fucked on all shopping website . I saw some people selling their Ebay accounts for so much once and I decided to make an account and sell some goods on it then when I get enough feedback I sell it and make some profit ... well when I registered I didn't understand a shit and left in couple of seconds after trying hard to put my CS:GO gift on sell - it's really complicated and the design is not newbie friendly at all.

I don't think OpenBazaar will be much different regarding scamming. Unfortunately when this thing goes live properly or people actually start using it its going to be flooded with scammers just like the marketplace is here. The only difference between ebay/paypal and this is the decision in who gets to keep the money will be down to escrow and that's where some people will lose out and it's always the scammers that have got nothing to lose.

That's why OpenBazaar will only use high trusted escrows so the scammers can't profit from it. Scammers can easily still profit from it as even a highly trusted escrow may not have all the facts. You could send the item to a scammer and he claims it never arrived or you sent him a broken item or box of rubbish. Similarly someone could actually just send you a box of rubbish. The escrow system will be decentralized so anyone could be an escrow...
If anyone can escrow then this will lead top problems.

People will need to make a habit out of *VIDEOTAPING* the opening of all their packages, if such scams start becoming widespread.
That way, you'd have proof that the box either contained nothing or did not contain the item you ordered.
Also, the reputation system should hopefully help you identify scammers before you order from them.

Well if the reputation system ever goes the way of eBay's, it will become worthless. You used to be able to identify scammers more easily on eBay, especially from buyers. Also as a frequent seller and buyer on eBay (over 2000 feedback), I have seen way more attempts of scamming from buyers than sellers. Actually, I do not think I ever have been outright scammed buying something, there were a few times I had to open a ticket with a seller, but all of them were resolved properly by the seller. I have have had maybe 30 tickets I was forced to deal with due to buyers claiming they did not get an item, or item not as described, with half of these outright deliberately trying to scam me and the other half at best not properly reading the description (i.e. expecting new when item clearly states used with any flaws described). If the item is of significant value, I would suggest videotaping as you describe, not only for buyer but the seller as well as they pack the item. Another option as a buyer, maybe even as a seller but I have never tried it, is to open the package in front of a witness, such as delivery person, or hold packages at the Post office, etc and open them in front of the counter person to witness if it is a empty box or rock, etc. I suppose a seller could have everything ready and finish packing/taping the box up in from said counter person and see if they would sign affidavit. Anyway, the point is scams can occur on both sides of the trade, so don't assume it is just sellers.
