Seems like you overclocked the miner. right? or you applied a non standard DC input?
A change of that capacitor will fix your issue. Those resistors are damaged of not?

I can get to the initial "LuCI - Lua Configuration Interface" but after that it craps out. This is the 2nd S3 I have set up on this router. Anyone got an idea why?

If overclocking did that, I'm not sure I want to try and OC mine now. I am one of a lucky few that got four S3 miners that work stable at 440Gh/s on sock freq 218.75.

With this hardware, overclocking id risky.

But the question at hand is did you OC and get that damage from it and if so, what freq was it on and what did you jump to from it ?

There's been plenty of people OC here and none I have seen reported these kinds of issues.

No I didn't do an overclock. But your symptoms as per the images force me to think like that.
I used to overclock my gpus long back and got into this kind of isues.
I usually get this kind of a thing when voltage of the chip(s) increased.
Wonder what the hell happened then.

I may still try to OC mine, stat with one, let it go for a few hrs then another etc.

I'm hoping I can do 250 to get to ~500, I might get lucky with that since I got four S3 that has stable at stock around 440. People seem to have issues with OC'ing on units that dont do 440 at stock.

Looks a lot like a capacitor blew after a power surge from something like nearby lightning, its almost identical to what the PCB on my LG monitor looked like after lightning struck the parking lot across the highway from my office.

This may have been asked somewhere else, but how can I order 3 S3's and use my three remaining coupons on the one order? Or can I only use one coupon per order of 2 miners?

You can use 1 coupon per miner, so if you order 2 you can use 2 coupons..

Technically yes per allcoins reply since one order contains two miners given the current MOQ.

Hi I have been on another thread a pool one and a user which we been trying to help pointed something out after looking around a few threads I noticed what this user pointed out also appears on alot of the screenshots of diff users....

Now to the poss bug....    On the miners status page where is is reporting the diff1 shares vs the diffA shares there is a massive diffence there where in theory the diff 1 and the diff a should be very close to each other in terms of numbers like they are on the s1

For examples of this refer to this thread and the screenshots of different peoples s3 rigs https://bitcointa.lk/threads/antminer-s3-discussion-and-support-thread.335840/page-105

You will notice every screen shot there is a massive diff in reported diff1 shares vs the diffa shares.    Now in theory that diff 1 number should be higher or very close to the diffa number not miles lower than the diff A shares even when ya look at the share diff and times the shares in all of them screenshots the diff1 number is well under what a simple bit of maths shows that diff1 should be...

Cheers

just further to this what is that diff 1 number reporting as diff1 shares atm Huh?  <<<<< this one more out of interest....

Is there anyone here that can post what PSU they have and if its powering an overclocked antminer s3?
I am a dumb girl that can't figure out this whole PSU situation
I can't choose between a CX500, CX600 or CX750 per antminer.
The cost between those power supplies are quite a bit for me.
HELP!

WHAT CONFUSES ME IS THAT SOME PEOPLE SAY I SHOULD GET A PSU WITH 4 SEPERATE PCI-E connections.
SOME PEOPLE SAY THE ANTMINER S3 will overclock well on 2 SEPERATE PCI-E CONNECTIONS.

I can't choose!

Here is my DIY thread for sizing/finding a Power Supply for S3 or any other dc device.

A few questions for anyone who has imported Antminer to EU.
Is there any invoice with the shipment? Value?
How the miner is described in papers? Any custom problems?
Thanks!

Reply from bitmaintech can be instant or sometimes it will take some time.
No no invoice is provided with the shipment and you can use the one available in the website.
In the shipping declaration unlike S1 and S2 they declared the full correct value in US dollar.
In declaration the product is described as "Bitcoin Miner". No customs issues.
They may call if some officers don't know what Bitcoin Miner is. Bitcoin is famous but mining thing is not so familiar to all.
