@BITMAIN: sent you email. Yesterday i received 1 parcel of the 2 i was waiting. I didnt have to pay, but declared value was 523,35$ for 1 S3(thats not what i payed, i payed for 2 S3 --> 1.152BTC = 492.07 EUR = 657,195 USD). So i need an invoice in EUR of 0.576 BTC = 246.04 EUR = 328.597 USD because the other parcel with the S3 is at customs, till i send them the invoice. thanks see, this was declared value for 1 S3, thats 523,35 USD right?:

The S3 is no longer profitable even with free electricity, my previous 90 day ROI was based on a 10% difficulty increase, with 18% it changes everything. Using the lower price of S3 taking bitcoin price at $565, the S3 will most likely go up in btc if btc goes down, ROI is taking 111 days with free electricity and free power supply, if we add any cost for electricity or ps there is no ROI.
Assuming my B6 arrives tomorrow night as predicted by UPS, this is what I get for the "free" power case, 7 days in this level, 23% next level and 16% thereafter. Since the PS is re-usable, I still show ROI in 115 days.

I don't have a good feel for the future of mining. At least my S1s have provided their ROI and are still mining at a cost of about $320/BTC (cost of electricity). Will turn them off when they become unprofitable. Fun hobby that at least paid for itself, but may be best to quit while ahead

Did you make sure the heatsinks were tight? Sounds like heat issue.
I have not taken any of my S3s apart. Is that what you are suggesting? The temp is always under 40C. It's good practice to always open up a new miner and check boards/tighten up heatsinks and check cable connections before you plug in and turn on for the first time. I've seen very bad things happen when people have not done this. It's a rough ride from China. I'm doing some research about your problem. If I get some info ill post back.

And I don't think that's the declared value because that's only 5 84 USD. It must be a delivery charge or something.

I'm shopping for free power.then I will shoe horn these things in and forget about them for the next 2 years

Believe so. I know the Evga 850 worked. Assume you will have enough hookups on that.

Believe so. I know the Evga 850 worked. Assume you will have enough hookups on that. The HX850 came with 2 wired in PCI-e cables and 4 more actually modular connectors. Not Y cables which i have seen get pretty warm. 1:1 is better than the y cables IMHO. Fahlcor

I have 4 of these, each have been powering 2 OC'd S1s with extra fan. Each RM850 delivering about 840 W for about 5 months with no problems. The single rail 70A, 12V capability makes this a great modular power supply for this purpose.

It's funny how everyone forgot that we had 3 sub-10-percent difficulty increases lately. Last time we had even one below 10% was more than a year ago. It's not the end of the world, between 10-20% is normal. However if you bought hardware assuming it's going to be 8% from now on, well tough shit. You're the reason Bitmain is not lowering the price because S3 is selling like hot cakes, according to their own ad.

Our next increase is already looking like it will be about 23+ %.
Bring it on, it will separate the Wannabees from the pros and bring lots of bargain hardware to E-bay when everybody panics

I'm wondering why they have sent me my S3s with EMS instead DHL that I choose at checkout?.. I got DHL instead of UPS... Mistakes in shipping? Or maybe they've gone back to doing it randomly, but that would be a bit naughty. ;-)
