After about a month or so of not staking, I am happy to have my staking box up and running and staking like crazy Smiley

what blocksize do you use?

i would like maximum growth and I was toying with the notion of using 2500 size blocks.  would that get me there?  or what would you suggest?

Love the coin.

I would suggest using a variety of sizes. I have everywhere from 2.5k to 20k. The more blocks the better though.

thanks a bunch.

There has to be some sort of mathmatical equation to calculate the ideal stake time.  All the variables are there it is just putting it into an equation and making sure it works.  Someone should work on that.  I would but I'm not great at math.

with such a hi inflation rate i would expect my wallet to have staked by now.  90000 hyps in about 35 blocks of sizes from 800 - 4500 kind of randomly.

so how do i know it is set up right?

it's been sittin there 2 weeks

Every year the world is getting more peaceful.

In my opinion, anything below 2500 is risking being so low that it will have a hard time ever staking. But there is also the thought that because hashing is random, the more "blocks"/outputs you are hashing, the more likely you will hit a stake.

Continue to let your coins mature, the maximum stake weight occurs after 30 days, so your coins will continue to be more likely to stake as time goes on. Also the more you can have your wallet on and trying to stake the better it will be. If you want to feel like an expert mess around with the "hashsettings" rpc call.

I would put it into 9 blocks of 10K each.  or maybe 10 blocks of 9K.  Either way with so few I found it better to have bigger blocks and stake more reliably.  Once your up to around 250 - 300 K you can start lowering the block size to get more staking because of the randomness.  I've got around 500K and set my stakesplitthreshold to 5000, which means my blocks are between 2500 - 5000.  I'm averaging a few stakes per day from 0 - 6 a day in the last week.

That's just how things seemed to work best for me.  Play around with setting up different block sizes, and check the block explore to see what size blocks are staking.

Anything less then 1K would be like hitting the lottery.  1K-2K is a little harder, and your 2K - 4.5K are more likely to hit.  But it's still very random.   in the past 2 weeks I've had a 1.8K block hit and several in the 2.8K range, the rest were in the 3-5K range.  And I still have a 3K block sitting at 200 days old.

Think about it this way

If you had a penny and you were to double it every day

In 1 week you would have  64 cents

Week 2 you would have  $81.92

Week 3 you would have  $10,486

Week 4 you would be  a millionaire  at $ 1,342,177.28

Compounding with proper block size is the key.

Here is some food for thought and why Hyperstake is ton's o fun

These are my last 3 stakes. The inputs are roughly the same. Note the difference in age.

Yes exactly what all the HYP fun is about!! Sometimes it could take a short amount of time, sometimes a very long amount. But if you vary your staking you can try to figure out the sweet spot.

Copy the transaction ID from the wallet by right clicking on it, and paste that into the tx search here: http://www.presstab.pw/phpexplorer/HYP/tx.php

Or you can hover over the stake transaction in the wallet and it will give you some details. FYI "Original UTXO" mean the original block size.

Just deleted some spam. Keep posts about other coins in the general altcoin section, not in the HYP thread.

Ok two questions

1.
On the Hyperstake Wiki

the formula for calculating weight shows as   "weight = block size × (days old - (1/6))"

However,  while observing the Coin control weights within the wallet, it does not appear to be working out that way.

it appears from my observation and trial and error, that the formula is closer to "weight = block size × (days old - (1/3))"

Can you confirm?

2.  True or False

"(My total weight / total network weight)"  can be used to calculate my probability at that moment of time of staking a single block.

Probably it's an impact of the fallen colossus Cryptsy. Personally I am waiting for a perfect occasion to improve my rich list positions Wink
