Hello! I am new to Hyperstake!

I have a question:

What is the minimum balance I must have before I can even hope minting new coins?  I ask this because in many proof of stake coins you never stake anything if you have less than several million coins...

Thanks for any help!

It's all personal opinions.  I would say 200K divided into 10K blocks.   My guess is you would see 1-2 stakes per week.  I could be totally off.

I always kept the block size large when I didn't have many coins, So I would insure they would stake, and as I got more and more coins I would decrease the size, so more of the luck factor comes into play.

1-2 stakes per week...how much is that in coins?

Every stake is 1000 hyper, no little, no more. So at current prices 2000 hyper per week is equal to ~$3.5 per week. You can expect around %70 annual interest rate but it is subject to fluctuate. If you want higher quantity of stake simply buy more hyper.

You might confuse some users as hyper is a different coin from hyperstake (HYP).

An stake could be less than 1000 if you are lucky enough.
For example, look at this block:
29 Aug 2017 02:36:57   1114480   8e330ba52ddfc79067b26a3e13b656c623a4c0527813ab2762c5927f89d65c90   191.21222   pNrm9DX7Hy   32,692   900.80   977,400,202 (342 BTC)   3   6,253.19
Where only 900.80 coins were minted.

You can check this on http://www.presstab.pw/phpexplorer/HYP/chain.php?count=2000

Hi, I allocated 50 blocks on August 26, each block I left with 19,952.98 HYP and on the 28th I made two more blocks with 23,720 HYP each! Could someone tell me if I did the split correctly? And can I create more blocks with the rewards coming from the blocks? Are there any real chances I'll make another 5000 HYP of rewards when the coin matures?

Go to the send window in the wallet.  Click on coin control, and make sure your looking at list mode.  If you see 50 blocks listed you did it correctly.  That panel will also show the age of the block.  Once they hit 8.8 days they are eligible to stake.

in the console (debug->console) you can enter "setstakethreshold x".  This says don't split the staked block if the result is  less then x.  So to keep your blocks between 10K 20K you could make x = 10000.  You can also use multisend and send a piece of your stake to another address.  You could send me 10% of each stake Smiley or you could send that to an exchange to trade.

This is a very good coin to play around with, and learn about staking and the way coin control and other advanced features work.

Hey guys. I'm new to Hyperstake and got a question. What is a reasonable amount of Hyperstake coins to start? I don't want to spent to much in my testing phase.

Thanks for help!  Smiley

For a good experience I would start out with 1 million HYP, split them into 10-15k "blocks" and give it a months try. If that is a bit too much money, then I would suggest at least 250k HYP and splitting to 20-30k blocks.

If the concept of "splitting" does not make sense, please checkout our getting started guide on the first page.

Hi to all. I recently installed the wallet v1.4.4.0. I followed the procedure and then added the bootstrap. Now it has been 8 hours, and the wallet is not yet done importing the bootstrap. Is that normal? Or should I stop it and run again?

Thank you @bitmaster.
I will just leave the wallet then until it's done. So how long does it take to finish importing the bootstrap?

It varies. Depends on the speed of your connection and computer. Wink

Mushrooms are pretty awesome stuff. Nature's Super Facilitators! Smiley

For now it's just a test, but will be offering spawn for HYP in the near future. Working on perfecting the process Smiley

I have all my stakes in sizes of 16,000 coins each, about 1M total.  Coins are mature (9+ days) but says 92 days to stake?Huh  Am I missing something?

I just followed this method Dev. I bought around 320,000 Hyperstake coin, and I split them into 16 blocks each with 20,000 Hyperstakes coin. I hope this will be a good start for me in staking HYP.

By the way, the wallet design is impressive. However, running it, loading it up takes some time. But overall, the wallet very good. The coin control is already on during the first time one runs the wallet.

I'm going to guess your seeing 92 days to stake on the coin control page.  I believe that would be the estimate for that single block.  You can get the overall estimate by hovering over the Q-Tip thingy in the lower
right corner of the main wallet screen.  That will show the estimate based on all of your blocks.  Also that number will decrease for a while as you gain more and more weight.

actually it says NOT MINTING.  yes, in Coin Control the days to stake is slowly growing, weird.  along with the weight.

If it's not minting is because it's not connected properly to the net, or because the wallet is password protected.
In that case, just unlock wallet for POS on the tools menu.
