Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Jus ta repost to all that have problems with changing amounts or whatever. This will make you a clean wallet to stake and that is on the correct chain:

1. Delete all files instead wallet.dat and navcoin.conf from the working directory.
2. Load the latest Blockchain data (I just made an update) from www.navcoin.conf/files/Nav-Blockchain.zip
3. Unpack this zip into your working directory
4. Update the navcoin.conf :

Use this:

rpcuser=username
rpcpassword=password
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcport=44444
port=44440
listen=1
daemon=1
server=1
txindex=1
staking=0
maxorphanblocks = 10000

5. get addnodes from here: https://chainz.cryptoid.info/nav/#!network  (klick on "node list" from 3.6 wallet)  add this list to you navcoin.conf.
6. You have already the Wallet 3.6 ? Otherwise Download from our website please. Please do not use 3.5 anymore.
7. Start the Navcoin-qt.exe
8. make a "checkwallet" on the debug window
9. close Navcoin Wallet again
10. open CMD and go to the Navcoin wallet folder where your exe is in.
11. start your wallet with: navcoin-qt.exe -rescan

Herewith, NAV Tor addnode=.onion support ;

addnode=navfxoktwa7zu3m2.onion:8443
addnode=navfx2yawr6eb4fp.onion:8443
addnode=navfxfkchwclvpbj.onion:8443
addnode=navfxujp7ninsup6.onion:8443
addnode=navcavlevqgjzozx.onion:8443
addnode=navcaqr6y4yfvei4.onion:8443
addnode=navcavq6roeray7h.onion:8443
addnode=navcajegwg62zecy.onion:8443
addnode=navfxkdrgk2oo3ja.onion:8443
addnode=navfxu6w2iptaj3m.onion:8443
addnode=navfxjtmt42smvcj.onion:8443
addnode=navfxosoed7hd4db.onion:8443

An example Tor navcoin.conf (which can be used with the Tor Browser Bundle - https://www.torproject.org/download/download-easy.html
- out-of-the-box) ;

Code:
listen=0
port=8443
proxy=127.0.0.1:9150
onion=127.0.0.1:9150
onlynet=tor
maxconnections=8
addnode=navfxoktwa7zu3m2.onion:8443
addnode=navfx2yawr6eb4fp.onion:8443
addnode=navfxfkchwclvpbj.onion:8443
addnode=navfxujp7ninsup6.onion:8443
addnode=navcavlevqgjzozx.onion:8443
addnode=navcaqr6y4yfvei4.onion:8443
addnode=navcavq6roeray7h.onion:8443
addnode=navcajegwg62zecy.onion:8443
addnode=navfxkdrgk2oo3ja.onion:8443
addnode=navfxu6w2iptaj3m.onion:8443
addnode=navfxjtmt42smvcj.onion:8443
addnode=navfxosoed7hd4db.onion:8443

It is advisable to add regular IP addnodes at the base of this .conf for 'failover', which will enable your client to also exit connections via Tor. hidden_service connections (.onion) never leave the Tor network.

Remember that less connections are preferable over more connections, in terms of anonymity and privacy. 6 to 8 connections are probably optimal for broadcasting transactions.

Port 8443 has been selected as it is a common Tor Exit port - see: https://trac.torproject.org/projects/tor/wiki/doc/ReducedExitPolicy - whereas the 'default' Navcoin port 44440 is not.

What if my wallet doesn't sync. stoped at block 224003 and won't complete?
I closed the wallet and restarted today but nothing changed.

again and again and again.
read last 2-3 pages and you saw the step by step how fast and easy synchro your wallet. Try some effort from you.

I deleted the entire folder (% appdata% navcoin) except wallet and navcoin.conf.
I loaded new blockchain from the site and still the same...
I added new nodes from blockexplorer site...

wallet was able to load a few blocks more and stuck again... and again and again...

I'm starting to get tired of this... current block 225792..  It does't work properly

I'm not going to spend my whole life chasing the current block!

I guess you are referring you to Nav 2.0, in this case the directory should be NavCoin2.

Jus ta repost to all that have problems with changing amounts or whatever. This will make you a clean wallet to stake and that is on the correct chain:

...

4. Update the navcoin.conf :

Use this:

rpcuser=**********
rpcpassword=*****************
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcallowip=5.230.142.254
rpcport=44444
port=44440
listen=1
daemon=1
server=1
txindex=1
staking=0
maxorphanblocks = 10000

A small notice for new beginners, the conf shown by Shahim must be
customized by you for safety reasons.

To do this, change the lines rpcuser= and rpcpassword= with a complex
string that only you know.

You have no reason to accept connections from an external IP,
so unless you know what you do, it would be useful to delete the line
"rpcallowip=5.230.142.254".

Finally, once you have completed all the procedures, and you are perfectly
in sync, remember to reactivate staking changing the line:
staking=0
to
staking=1

These are things that experienced users know and can confirm,
but that might be unknown to beginners.

This is my advice, then you do as you please.  Smiley

I have tried everything here that was recommended, even through tor (which actually worked the best), but sadly no matter what you do it takes 30 minutes to download 1mb worth of the blockchain to wallet. There is definitely something wrong that it takes so long to sync.

sorry to hear about your issues, my block chain synced up really quick and I have 20-30+ active connections consistently.  I am finding the new wallet very quick,responsive and robust, although I am running it on a pretty beefed up PC.

You may have already tried this, but here is my suggestion and what worked for me:
1) backup your wallet.dat, copy it somewhere safe
2) Delete the NavCoin2 folder in APDDATA, (note NavCoin2 and NOT navcoin)
3) start the 3.6 wallet, and close it shortly after you see the GUI interface.  Make sure you have 3.6 version and not 3.5 !!!  ( Help -> About Navcoin )
4) download the blockchain that shahim created recently www.navcoin.conf/files/Nav-Blockchain.zip (Thanks Shahim) and extract it into the NavCoin2 folder. Make sure you overwrite whatever is in there.
5) create or edit the text file in the NavCoin2 folder called navcoin.conf  (make sure it isn't getting saved as navcoin.conf.txt )
6) paste the following into it: change the rpcuser/rpcpassword to something different for security reasons.  The addnodes are up to date, I just copied them from the block explorer now.

Code:
rpcuser=changeme
rpcpassword=andmetoo
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1

7) start your wallet and let it fully synchronize
8 ) stop the wallet and then replace the wallet.dat in NavCoin2 folder with the one you backed up in step 1)
9) startup the wallet again and all should be good

NOTE: you might have to do a checkwallet, repairwallet in order to see your correct balance.

When I have issues, I find it helpful to get fully in sync with a fresh wallet as sometimes your wallet.dat could be causing issues, if you have thousands of transactions already.  Although I have never had this issue with Navcoin, I still go by this rule to eliminate possible causes for issues I see.

Please let me know how this turns out.  if it doesn't work, let me know your OS, amount of RAM and free space on your C drive. and we can go from there.

Good luck :-)

I updated the data file today! I try to update it regularly. There must be other problems with the network.

Probably I had an old blockchain which was downloaded a few days ago.

Thanks to all for your patience. Such a team!  Cheesy

Code:
rpcuser=changeme
rpcpassword=andmetoo

Thank you for your reply, but i am not new to the crypto world and this is the only wallet I have ever had these kind of issues with. I am giving up on this project, not worth the aggravation for me. best of luck  Smiley

Sorry hear that because only few people have problems with install and synchronize wallet.
Shahim almost everyday last days update blockchain.zip to download so in this few cases its must be human error/too bad old hardware (not enought disc space,Ram,old CPU)/internet issues I think.

Herewith, NAV Tor addnode=.onion support ;

addnode=navfxoktwa7zu3m2.onion:8443
addnode=navfx2yawr6eb4fp.onion:8443
addnode=navfxfkchwclvpbj.onion:8443
addnode=navfxujp7ninsup6.onion:8443
addnode=navcavlevqgjzozx.onion:8443
addnode=navcaqr6y4yfvei4.onion:8443
addnode=navcavq6roeray7h.onion:8443
addnode=navcajegwg62zecy.onion:8443
addnode=navfxkdrgk2oo3ja.onion:8443
addnode=navfxu6w2iptaj3m.onion:8443
addnode=navfxjtmt42smvcj.onion:8443
addnode=navfxosoed7hd4db.onion:8443

An example Tor navcoin.conf (which can be used with the Tor Browser Bundle - https://www.torproject.org/download/download-easy.html
- out-of-the-box) ;

Code:
listen=0
port=8443
proxy=127.0.0.1:9150
onion=127.0.0.1:9150
onlynet=tor
maxconnections=8
addnode=navfxoktwa7zu3m2.onion:8443
addnode=navfx2yawr6eb4fp.onion:8443
addnode=navfxfkchwclvpbj.onion:8443
addnode=navfxujp7ninsup6.onion:8443
addnode=navcavlevqgjzozx.onion:8443
addnode=navcaqr6y4yfvei4.onion:8443
addnode=navcavq6roeray7h.onion:8443
addnode=navcajegwg62zecy.onion:8443
addnode=navfxkdrgk2oo3ja.onion:8443
addnode=navfxu6w2iptaj3m.onion:8443
addnode=navfxjtmt42smvcj.onion:8443
addnode=navfxosoed7hd4db.onion:8443

Cheers!

A quick note that the above NAV Tor addnode=.onion nodes are running the latest release of Navcoin and are working fine currently.

Anyone experiencing issues with syncing the blockchain would probably be advised to reach the current block height on 'clearnet' before connecting with Tor.

...

As someone new to Navcoin, if you follow this upgrade guide from shahim :

- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=679791.msg15828726#msg15828726

then syncing with the current block height will be done within a matter of hours.

For the linux daemon I just did ;

Code:
wget http://www.navcoin.org/files/Nav-Blockchain.zip

Code:
unzip Nav-Blockchain.zip -d ~/.navcoin2

Code:
cd navcoin2/src && ./navcoind

After following the comprehensive compiling instructions from : https://github.com/navcoindev/navcoin2/blob/master/doc/build-unix.txt

and editing the navcoin.conf of course.

Code:
cd ~/.navcoin2 && sudo nano navcoin.conf

Again, all nodes fully synced up within a matter of hours.

I'd imagine that the network will be much more stable when more clients have the correct block height.   Smiley

Open wallet, help, debug window, information. Over there it tells you the wallet you are running.
