sha256 is more problematic in that respect (dunno cause of much higher hashrate of the parent coin or else) and it is important that mining is not as centralized during the transation. Now we have enough pools with merge mining support contrary to launch. Please correct me if I got something wrong.

But how so because regardless of the number of miners, the same number of viacoin will be mined every 24 hours.

There's probably also a concern that as Scrypt Asic mining tech advances so they become more powerful and lead to an increase in difficulty, sooner reward halving.

False, that is why you have difficulty retargetting. Whatever the hash power thrown at the network, there will be roughly 3600 blocks per day because the difficulty will adjust to speed up and slow down the rate of mining to reach the median.

I tried out some combinations with auto-btc and via. When I put it on via it was fluctuating between 5 and 15 via a day! I was in fact refering to the auto-btc rate which has gone substantially down the last week http://www.cryptocurrencyminingreport.com/genesis-mining-payouts-november-26th-27th-0-40-0-21%EF%BC%81total-roi-54-05-72-days%EF%BC%81 . Ltc difficulty is shooting through the roof in november.

Cool, would be great if it could read clearwallet address balances also. why are you adding exchange rates ?

When sending/recieving you will be able to enter a fiat value and have the wallet convert that into VIA.

My vote goes for +1 merged mining.

As far as I understand the advantages easily outweight possible risks right now. And even the risk of another hard fork: Drak and his team have just proven that they're more than capable of doing a smooth fork without any problems. I'm not a miner, but as a trader I love a secure/robust network, especially if the further adaption of Viacoin should flourish. Long story short: just do it. My 2 cents.

I'm posting this here because in my opinion the VIA community could use some more "fun". I know that memes usually have a trollish touch, but when they're good they get shared a lot on social platforms like Twitter, Facebook, whatever. They receive attention. They engage people. Dogecoin probably is the best example for this viral power and while it was surely a lucky strike, the lesson to be learned here is that any PR is good PR.

I think it's another good way to further create some awareness and engagement that I haven't seen leveraged so far with VIA at all. Just my 2 cents
