Only a fool would put his faith into such an unproven and experimental technology which is probably why my life savings are riding on it Cool

Treechains
scalability problem of conventional linear blockchains by replacing them with a binary prefix tree of blocks. This talk will discuss the basic concept of the idea, as well as near term applications in the form of improving the scalability and security of Bitmessage, as well as future financial applications, such as decentralized exchange and even value-transfer applications similar to Bitcoin itself.

HOW is tree chain going? Any ETA about release?

Remember, treechains is an experimental concept and project and needs a lot of research and development. The first working concept will be applied to Bitmessage and Peter said in his last blog post there might be some code to show this month, but be very clear, treechains being applied to the satoshi client is a long term project there are things like finding ways to do SPV that also need to be solved. Using the technology on Bitmessage is trivial by comparison because the technical requirements of BM are much less than a consensus based proof-of-publication system.

Treechains has the potential to revolutionize everything. The idea is frankly epic, but it needs to be done right - that will involve a lot of testing and peer review. The devils are in the details so to speak Smiley

So that means there will be no updates in the short future which will let the price rise?

Perhaps a version of dark wallet that works with Via would be the way to go here rather than reinventing the coin itself since there are so many alternatives on the cards already, darkcoin, annoncoin, zerocoin, darkwallet for btc, btcdark, ltcdark ... ...

My view is hold - remember that this was going to be a medium to long term deal (6-12 months). BTC is shit, and altcoins are shit at the moment.  We all believed that VIA market would take off instantly.  Although VIA and XCH haven't had the start we had planned for this clearly means that with each price drop it is becoming more and more undervalued.  I am still investing heavily in the team and the technology.

Drak it would install a bit more confidence to hear updates DIRECTLY from you more often. I think you said that blogs would become more regular (i.e weekly) however this so far has failed to materialise.  You have a lot of people here who have your back however we really need to hear more just to keep confidence and moral up.  The last thing we want is for all the early adopters who believed in you from day one dumping and then missing out on mega rises later... that would be tragic.

What type of companies are likely to adopt this technology?
Have any companies shown any interest?
Is the team currently working on implementing the technology anywhere?

Masternode I assume you still have your VIAs and XCH - if you have time a few words on the current situation could also go down really well. You have been into Alts for a while and I believe you have seen and experienced a market like this before. I respect that Drak is not able to share his views as freely on price however I would be good to gain your investor insight. What do you see VIA  and XCH becoming in real world.

Many thanks

Hold is definitely the way to go here and not just because the order book it too thin to sell into Wink

drak posted as recently as yesterday, I doubt much news has developed since then, unless the opportunity to have your chief scientist address your demographic in person through the magic of on demand video stream about a technology you're working on which you believe may be the next substantial paradigm shift in an industry only half a decade old was not missed after all, because that would be a tragedy Cry

Not possible though, someone must have had a smart phone Cheesy

There is an abundance of regular news on the blog, on these forums, the media and even on youtube nowadays. Follow the r/viacoin subreddit. All news links get put there. Viacoin is a technology project and technology takes time. Plenty activity on github projects too (/viacoin and /clearinghouse).

By the way, what's next? Since we finished the blockchain notary and have successfully upgraded the network, the next task is the CustodyChains protocol.
OP_CHECKLOCKTIMEVERIFY is still going through peer review and we also need to think about the necessary soft fork for that.
Additionally we spent time testing and running simulation regarding the difficulty switching algo. This is being rolled out on testnet at block 300000 to see how it works in practice. We'll be directing real mining at it to see how it copes. This is because the DWG3 algo overreacts - the aim is to make it much smoother with less variance.

Definitely looking forward to playing with custody chains mr drak, and a python library to start building things with (was mentioned in a tweet few days ago).
Also please, no more good news or optimism until I have bought back in at 8k. Thanks Wink

fwiw, that last dump just dropped the price by 19% and knocked us down 7 places on cmc to number 40 Sad

Actually technology is not the most important thing, CANN, BC, DOGE are good at marketing, promotion and PR, that's why their market cap went to the moon Cheesy
