To be honest if I had the same skill set as a top dev with my mentality this is exactly what I would do. In three days you could have accumulated a huge amount of your SPR from weak hands. Who knows... In the next week holders, like myself, will either go down with another sinking ship or congratulate our rationality and move forward. As I've stated before I really hope this project continues the momentum it's had and Mr. Spread returns. If not this really is a shame.

Even if he doesn't return i'm not terribly worried. There is so much talk on Spreadcoin.net right now. Several of the guys are trying to pick the project up themselves and run with it. If Mr. Spread doesn't return it sounds like the coin might be even better for it.

Losing Mr. Spread would be quite the blow. It could potentially recover but it would not be quick or smooth.

Im baaaack! Looking for sig campaign. DM me if interested.

Oh by no means quick, but it could be greater than we previously expected. Given 6 months or so we might see extreme growth in the project.

This would be corrosive to market trust (dev perceived as a manipulator / pump&dumper through self-inflicted FUD).

I think something something happened.

That is my opinion.  We can debate it all day long but won't know until we do (or don't).

No I mean if a coin dev did this on purpose to buy low / sell high or something. Obviously if that was the plan by Mr. Spread he'd first dump and then rebuy lower - which it hasn't happened from what I'm reading (I'm not tracking his coins).

That would be extremely risky at best. I would not peg Mr. Spread as being that foolish.

I am tracking his wallets as provided by MyFarm in pg 240 (double checked from pg 10). He moved/consolidated (transferred) "donations" wallets to his other wallets. Many transfers are still "not yet redeemed", which means he has not even go online to syn his other wallets after transferring. And he has not sold a single SPR from "donations".
Edit: in my country, schools with majority Chinese ethnic students are allowed to close the school for up to 10 days during Chinese New Year, will only be reopened by 25th Feb. If @e1ghtspace is correct that Dev is from China, I would give till end of Feb to hear from Dev.

The 'something happened' explanation doesn't wash because he did tidy up wallets the week before he went offline.

Chinese teacher / student. Now that I can go with.

The vast majority of Chinese come from rural areas and during holiday periods they go back home and visit family. Often children that have been left with grandparents. Rural areas tend not to have internet connectivity.

However, MyFarm confused the situation by saying he recently sent a few hundred SPR that were moved.

Correct.  I noticed this and wanted to make sure they weren't sent to an exchange.  They weren't.

None of those have a small transaction recently, which has been moved. Moving coins would be an indication of some  internet connectivity.

Never mind.

If he is due back in a day or two, I'd rather people spent the time offering up some thoughts on real world USPs for SPR.

Hopefully it's not just a straight competition with DRK. That won't work. DRK is too far ahead and is facing Bitcoin competition from sidechains linking up with Zerocash.

Master Nodes have so many other potential applications. Picking something along those lines would make SPR stand out and difficult for copy/paste devs to attempt.

DRK is serious on focusing on currency and offering a direct alternative to Bitcoin. Other uses for Master Nodes are off the foreseeable future table.

Mr Spread obviously knows going awol for this amount of time would naturally raise concerns. I don't buy the "Oh, its the Chinese new year/maybe his grandparents are sick etc etc"...that doesn't excuse the fact that not contacting anybody on the project he has been working on for 6 months is odd.

JL announced yesterday that someone had been in contact and Mr.SPR would be back 'within 24hrs'
Have it from a trusted source now that Mr. Spread will reemerge within 24 hours....

Can you go into more detail?

Exactly.

Neither time nor effort has gone to waste.
In the contrary, I have never come so far before in understanding how a coin works.

For me, spreadcoin is like a constant exercise in true decentralization.

Having the main dev "do a satoshi" after he demonstrated a new paradigm is probably just the next iteration of that.  Smiley

And now a group of people try to maintain and continue spreadcoin in a more decentralized manner.

Stay tuned.

(That's my bit of classic one line ambiguity, confusion and frankly, stupidity because I've not bothered to write a decent sentence that clarifies what I'm asking or whether it's a question, a statement or something morphing between the two.

Internet forums: land of the "I couldn't write a coherent sentence to save myself".)
