So now your using your conclusion that you drew as basis for your argument? That's convenient.

The only mention was that he was in talks to purchase another company, never said NH, people just assumed.

You might want to re-read those links. It was said quite explicitly on multiple occasions that NH has been contacted and a solution is in the works. NH claims nobody contacted them and no solution is forthcoming because there is nothing to solve. That's a fairly substantial contradiction, don't you think?

Frankly - Perception is usually more important than facts... And that's the perception of his customer base at the moment.

Josh Never stated it was nice hashes fault anywhere. He stated there was a problem with how it could be manipulated for higher payments that GAW would have to pay. They had a flaw in their system that related to Nice hash so that is the only mention about nice hash. Just like nice hash has a flaw in selecting pools that do not have min required difficulty. They will charge you for having to cancel. See both companies have flaws. Both are working to correct them. I just cant believe how many trolls there are.  If you do not like GAW's product do not buy it. If you do not like Nice Hashes product do not use it. Simple!!!!

Not sure who that's directed at... But I never mentioned or implied it was NH's fault. The issue is the contradiction and who is lying and who isn't.

It's a fairly important factor IMO.

It was just directed at the general posts saying that he said it was Nicehashes fault and now they get upset because they think GAW said something bad about them. There is more then 1 person at Nicehash Josh could very well be talking to someone else. I agree I would like to hear more about if he really is talking to someone else at nicehash.

He does that, it's his main purpose to spread doubt and confusion. Besides, that's his second thread about GAW and hard to say how many he started with sockpuppet accounts.

Bitgeek, you're confusing me with MemCID/Flex/CEO I think... I, in fact support GAW, but I do ask tough and valid questions on bitcointalk when I find something confusing or misleading.

By the way, this thread is much more readable if you ignore MemCiD, I_IZ_CEO, and bitgeek. Seriously, try it Smiley

Zeus's volcano seems really ambitious. Assuming that they won't burn people with preorders (note that they've a good reputation), this thing is capable of a one month ROI with the current difficulty.

To bad you can't calculate a preorder ROI with the current difficulty  Wink I went for Zeushash instead for a more safer option, can always purchase 1 or 2 Volcano's when they are ready for shipping.

This was aimed at the OP of this thread who posted a bunch of random links in response to that nicehash question (if it was real nicehash).

You might want to re-read those links. It was said quite explicitly on multiple occasions that NH has been contacted and a solution is in the works. NH claims nobody contacted them and no solution is forthcoming because there is nothing to solve. That's a fairly substantial contradiction, don't you think?

Eh, guys, too much drama on this topic  Cool ... We are in contact with GAW since their (our) early days, their CTO Mordica even included our patches in their cgminer fork (https://github.com/jmordica/cgminer-gc3355) for their early-days hosted miners to work flawlessly on NiceHash. That said we have a good relationship, but all this mess with NiceHashlet and Hashlets using our pool ... they just messed things out ... Anyway - to put things simple - once again: there is nothing to sort out, Hashlet are working as designed (not-mining, business model build on profit sharing) and NiceHash is working as designed (free open market, anybody can use at at will). NiceHash had too big payout to sustain Hashlet business model, that's why they removed our service. Their PR was not correct on this matter, that's what we already told them and we hope they respect this and will not pump this issue even further. We are sure they will adapt their business model (this is the only thing that needs to be sorted out on their side, nothing to sort out at our side) and to include NiceHash, one of the most attractive free market mining solution available, back to Hashlet business. Let's that be all, over and out.

Soooo...Josh is a bullshitter.  No one learned anything new here, right? Doesn't mean it is a Ponzi, but sure would be nice not be force-fed bullshit every time he posts something.

I am still a bit surprised that people are so willing to take it in stride that GAW doesn't actually mine with hashlets, or link them to hardware in any set ratio.  They were sold as such, right? They are still being sold as such. That is intentionally misleading and unethical.

I too was receiving consistent payouts from my hashlets, but someone with a high school education who lies all the time is not who I want to trust with my money. If anyone who knows the situation wants to buy GAW products then go ahead.  I don't see anything wrong with that, but GAW should stop intentionally misleading newbies that have no idea what they are purchasing.

edit: granted, the jab at his education is a bit of an ad hominem but I think it still does have some bearing here.  We know who is not a highly trained businessman.

This thread is getting worse every day. Half of it is spam troll wars and lies, the other half suspicions and detective stories.

They are selling contracts, similar to stocks or bonds that are supposed to ROI. I don't ask my bank what happens with the money I send them but focus on the profits.
It's funny how you say it's unethical and admit you are receiving payouts. Money over ethics?

To be fair the thread IS about suspicions and questions and stuff like that, at least I make no secret about the questions I have in the OP. Trollfest - I have no control over that unfortunately.

You're saying it's a contract but it's just as much of a speculation as most other things in this thread, since this is in no way confirmed or denied by GAW. If you think that is good enough for you, that's fine. I'm not saying you should sell your hashlets or that you should pull your money from your bank - which is a somewhat ironic analogy considering what Bitcoin stands for. But I hope you can also accept the fact that others have a different point of view or a different need for transparency.

Let me make it simpler:

GAW claims, or advertises one thing, but sells another. That is all I have a beef with. That is unethical.

If you know that, then I have no problem with a (semi) informed buyer, just with deception.

I sold my hashlets as soon as I could once the GAW's marketing started to be proven as impossible within this thread.

Hashlets were sold to people as "proprietary Hashlet hardware".  They've now tried to erase all of that because, quite frankly, it was blatent fraud.

Quote
The general criminal offence of fraud can include:
1. deception whereby someone knowingly makes false representation
2. or they fail to disclose information

People can try and justify it because they're currently making money, but at the end of the day you have to really ask yourself if they can be truly trusted.  There was no need for the deception, people still would have bought it.
