Why has everybody jumped ship on nonce-pool? This guy compiled the best pool miner so far and got a lot of hashpower yesterday, why did everybody move over to suprnova? The distribution of the hashpower is a bit disturbing now.
It happend just after it was noticed that there was a problem with payouts. People changed to Nova to get the payouts. The issue was fixed soon but the trillion hash mega guy changed to Nova anyway :-) Now more people coming to nonce, BTW, doubled hashrate in 1 hour. Sorry about the payouts, had confirmations set wrong. all better now.

Sadly I don't think XMG coin is going to work for us 'little guys'. I have only mined 15 XMG (starting 2 hours after launch) using Windows wallet on an i3.
Reading about the way it was going to be non-GPU and fair for people without expensive rigs or botnets got me excited and encouraged me to try mining for the first time, but as we can see some people seem to have already figured a way around this just before the big rewards come in.
Such a shame as community seems great. I will watch dev commments closely in next few hours to see if any resolution to these problems otherwise I think you are going to lose your intended miners to the usual whales.

If you sell your 15 XMG at the current rate, you still get 0.01 BTC Although this is not a lot of money, what other coin will get you that on a single i3 in less than 2 days? There will never be a coin for 'little guys' since the big farms and rented servers will jump on everything that's profitable. Nothing this dev or any other dev can change about that.

XMG Hello friends, Out of interest and because I can not mine at the moment (too busy with XMG marketing plans) the following: Everything works at the moment? Windows, Linux and Ubuntu? How many miners are currently working? I have read a number of ideas in the thread regarding the future plans for XMG. If there are from more good ideas from the community ideas let me know. Send me a PM or post it in the thread. FYI the current price of XMG is pretty stable. Advice do not sell to low. (unless you really need it) More information will follow.

Thanks for responding. This is my first time mining, its just that I was reading in this thread about how the algo should negate the advantages of all these large rigs and/or botnets. Perhaps I was having unrealistic expectations is 15 XMG about the right ratio for a single i3? Perhaps I should join a pool now the difficulty is so high or will my puny 20k hashrate be negligible there also?

When you have a small hashrate (relative to the whole network), I think it's wise to join a pool to get a more consistent payout. It's always possible that you will find a block when solo-mining but with the current difficulty it can take weeks or months before you find one.

Firstly thanks for mining XMG. I've been thinking about this issue all the time since noticed big hash came into net yesterday; even without the GPU issues, MHps big miners are a concern. Look for my posts later today (night EST); I may have something to (partially) solve the concern.

I agree and even my dual Xeon server is now mining on the Nonce-Pool. My laptop it also mining on the pool and you can get a steady income.

Hope you have followed the instructions here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=735170.msg8800103#msg8800103The command : cd ~/.magi does not work mkdir ~/.magi (to create a folder, then you can cd ~/.magi) The commands: cd ~/magi/src ./magi & do not work : no such file or directoryThis means you don't have source code downloaded yet. Again follow the above link, post if you have further questions.

I'm not maths expert but we a need a diminishing returns algorithm.
Obviously there are many challenges in this approach as you could take a powerful rig, start x number of miners, and you have got round the problem.
The fundamental problem is around how we mine with solo mining, pool mining and P2P mining.
This means there is no way of implementing a diminishing returns algorithm without impacting everyone.

(see error on autogen.sh) So everything is downloaded into maps magi and magi-minerd. (followed description) What's the difference between map magi, .magi or ~/.magi, especially why use the .?
