Praise be!

I notice some shrewd voluntary hashrate limiting on Suprnova pool right now. Well done folks. Now lets have the same thing on Noncepool please. You know it makes sense Smiley

I always have something to say.
Do you want me to say something that will make network hashrate lower? But you might not like it Smiley

as long as blow away big miners pls. Wink

Thanks for the tips whomever!

I'm thinking that some of these big miners could be using free power and resources so the usual price concerns might not be an issue for them. I doubt smoothing the fluctuation will change things much and PoS may act to smooth things out a bit when it starts working shortly.   (I keep expecting something to mint, I've got one of the first blocks)

For now I would try to ignore the big miners and focus on other things, perhaps they have the communities interests at heart one can never tell.  I think the PoM campaign is a great idea and should help build community and even out the mining rewards.  This is a CPU coin and potentially many new people could mine it if they can easily get the information.  Perhaps starting a wiki or building up more information on the website for beginners would be helpful.  (Fix broken links etc.)

I would vote for using the extra coin exchange funds to pay bounties or incentive payments for needed stuff or for just being a part of the community.  Incentives for writing articles, making videos, contests, giveaway faucets, commuting by bike, this type of thing could be posted out on the website to attract beginners to get involved.  How about a PoB (proof of biking) incentive payment for those of us who don't commute to work and go everywhere by bike? It doesn't have to be large to be fun, I'm thinking maybe 20 coins to post a picture of your bike and promise not to drive your car for a week.  (Get the environmentalists involved) Or a PoT (proof of transaction) incentive for smoking... Wink err moving the coins around.  If some of those big miners got involved and started offering bounties and incentives I think they would find that they would profit a lot more in the long haul.  It could make some magic happen; were doing much of this already!

Well said, Lightsplasher. PoS-II will be coming soon at block 10080. I currently have few wallets staking in testnet, will post reports sometimes. I can send over testnet coins if anyone wants to taste it for now.

We will have funds from swap which I was thinking to be used to giveaway PoM participants; we can use some coins for these purposes though. Promotions in articles, video, and probably a faucet will be on the way. Ideas here are interesting. Lightsplasher, would you like to lead the campaign of PoB / PoT / ... ? will be really interesting if people post pictures. XMG will provide funds for the campaign. I just don't have much time; also it will be great if community members actually participate in XMG. Spexx, will you be interested to get a campaign going? This can be a general message to all of members: anyone can propose an idea and do a campaign whatever interesting ideas. Examples (I hope Juke won't mind posting his ideas; will say Juke is currently doing these):

Quote
- the best wallpaper of xmg
- the fanciest xmg mining computer
- best joke about crypto coins & magic / xmg / computers / or whatever

Let me know so XMG can support you. I believe this will be effective promotions and importantly people will have fun while enjoying this coin.

I had a thought to try and get a bunch of my Facebook friends into this. None of them are geeky teccie types like me, so I was thinking along the lines of producing a package aimed at regular Windows users to make it easy for them, such as a self-downloading-latest-version-installer-configurer-just-keep-clicking-ok kind of thing. It will take a while to put it all together and test it out. My idea is to encourage users to register with both Suprnova and Noncepool, spread the load and include some automatic fail-over scripts for good measure. Watch this space. My immediate aim is to provide a full release version of my generic non-processor-specific miner with better documentation. Getting the time to concentrate on that is proving elusive at the moment, but I'll get there.

I can write up a blog posting on PoB with a donation address and some details on magi if that sounds good.  Its a wordpress site with mostly stuff on 3D graphics but I think this will fit in the other geeky tech stuff there.  Please let me know what you guys think is a good incentive payment for a week of bicycle commuting or I can kind of work things out depending on the level of interest and donations received.

Either blog or bitcointalk post will be fine depending which is better. Likely the amount of funds can be allowable from XMG. Donations might be hardly easy to raise up in my opinion; anyway setting up donation will be good for future plans. If this is going to be posted in blog, I can update a link to that so people can read from our OP.

Welcome to the community, Ron; my pleasure to have you here for help. We do need marketing, and more regular/heavy updates/news; any ideas are appreciated, you can always find me through IRC, this threads, and PM.

Well I'll be adding some hashing power to this coin. At the moment with a few minutes of checking, it seems it provides 50% of what I would earn mining an older coin but seeing as this is farely new I have high hope for this coin. =3

Oh awesome. Sucks 2Mh cuts of from bonus though. I hope this coin will remain CPU only as I hate how every coin thats been CPU only ends up with GPU miners. I would abandon the coin immediately if so. =/

Anyways, its late to set up my miners so tomorrow I should set up plenty of them. Hope the bonus is for the total mining hashrate of my miners ave out for each day for the month as there will be jumps and falls with some issues.

Im excited to join the community, can't believe I didnt find this sooner!

Funds required??? None whatsoever! It's a labor of love carried out in my spare time when I have it. A lot of my time thus far has been spent benchmarking various versions of the miner on various platforms and the results are quite surprising in some respects. More details to follow tomorrow when I get back from work (which is a four-letter word ending in k like a few others I know). Smiley
