Also, I seem to be having issues solo mining. I believe everything is set up correctly in my .conf file, however whenever I try to run m-minerd I'm given this error message: "HTTP request failed: Failed to connect to 127.0.0.1 port 8232: Connection refused" followed in the next line by: json_rpc_call request failed, retry after 30 seconds what do I need to do here to be able to solo mine? Is this something stupid I've missed? Or perhaps a windows issue? m-minerd .bat looks like so: m-minerd --url http://127.0.0.1:8232/ --user user --pass x -t 6 -e 95 It looks like that either your wallet or daemon is not running, your rpcport is not 8232 in .conf file or you are trying to mine from another computer...? it could be that! I have my wallet on my NAS currently, will try moving the miner to the NAS/wallet to main machine still no luck with the solo mining. Tried moving the wallet to the main desktop off of the NAS and still the same issue. .conf looks like so: rpcuser=rpcuser rpcpassword=rpcpass rpcport=8232 rpcallowip=127.0.0.1 listen=0 connect=104.128.225.215 daemon=1 server=1 rpcport=8232 rpcallowip=127.0.0.1 rpcuser=user rpcpassword=x In your conf file rpcuser and rpcpass defined 2times please clean your conf file as: listen=1 connect=104.128.225.215 daemon=1 server=1 rpcport=8232 rpcallowip=127.0.0.1 rpcuser=user rpcpassword=x

With the connect command in magi.conf - I'm only connected to one host, is this the intended method for now?

Yeah, 250 per user... Sure guys. Just look at miner list.
Botnets engaged... I only have about 6 servers, along with my home PCs mining, and there's "anonymous" miners with 2x the hashrate. That's either a Botnet or the unauthorized use of a server farm.

Pools should really deal with this. And the Magi Team too. Where is the fair coin distribution then? How can you expect for someone to mine with low power (green) devices when huge botnes are abusing almost every pool? Maybe it's better for Suprnova to stay down for few days. You will see when they make it live again, almost in the same second there will be 500 miners. All botnets, preconfigured to mine on Suprnova.

Is there any news when exchanges will be up again? Both Yobit and bittrex still maintenance.
I sent message to Bittrex again. Think will be back up in 24 hours. Others i need to contact. If you have time or contact there feel free to send them a message. I always can use help. When i mining solo, can i use rpcallowip=192.168.* to permit the access from other host, but the hash of each host is counted separately or the wallet sum all hashrate?

Magi is trying that for some time It can only if Pools agree to allow miners with max hashrate. Besides that we all noticed that not all people are reading the Op & last posts here. In that case they miss the change of mindset. Most coin need hugh hashrate to gain profit. With Magi its different. Lower hashrate blockreward is good or will go up. High hashrate blockreward will drop.

How can the masses be controlled? Do the pools put a cap on hashrate? How would the pools find what that cap should be? Other than limiting the amount of connections, I see no other way to do it. This issue has been around for a long time, with almost every coin.

So I think pools must do something, most because of mining with low powered devices, and "green" mining. I know you're trying, but it seems they are always one step ahead.

First the user getting a warning that they are above 300KH/s (that is our MAX allowed speed). If they dont adjust down within recent time, they will be banned from the pool. (According to warning/information written on top of our pool). And there is possible to adjust down if using "m-minerd" with the parameter -e (example -e 60) -e, --cpu-efficiency=N mining efficiency (1-100) (default: 100, i.e, 100)

Better not, it's very bad for the block reward for other miners.

unfortunately even if all the registered pool actually impose a limit they can setup their own pool if they really wanna mine with high hash. Only way is imposing a limit in the node itself and limiting hash per node which would also affect pools and im not really sure if its feasible. Then it would become a mostly solo only coin with very limited hashrate and everybody can mine.

Thanks, Thats true. If no one does anything then it definately will be wrong. Therefore is our philosofy that we at least is doing it. And there will be a much more fair sharing of the mining rewards in TrasMaMod XMG pool. So I do recommend all other pool owners to also do something equal as this to help to create a fair and good / strong coin.

I always thought staking reward comes from a block which is mined. (also with fees) When I look at mine staking results and the statistics of the pools I can't find these blocks in the pool. Are blocks for staking different blocks as for mining?
