...
In that respect I was pointing out that only Monero boasts true, tested 'agency-proof' privacy.

In some places in this world that could be a life-saver for someone who has committed no crime.

This is absolutely true and a undeniable fact that is worth its weight in gold bitcoin. Smiley

Whatever fierce-uk writes is always and attack on Monero. It is a way to put attention on his copy of Monero.  Yes he makes his attacks wisely. It took two years that he was baned from Monero subreddit after he was caught paying people to spam Monero subreddit. And he was doing it for at least a year. Simply abusing Monero subreddit liberal moderation.

Price going over 0.0075. Maybe time to never look back again. Smiley

Powering up towards .008 is decent performance when Bitcoin is looking positive, too.

In dollar terms, with a figure comfortably over $60 (over $63 as I write) means that if I hadn't had that unfortunate boating accident I would be punching the air at the increas in my wealth in filthy fiat terms.   CoinGecko places Monero at no.11 right now, too.

Not a bad performance all round.  It bodes well for the next real run up, looks like Monero has it's eye on a front row seat in the moonship.

Who's the dumb ass that dumped?

looks like price suppression tactic to me.

Gonna backfire though.

My post seemed er... perfectly timed in retrospect!  Apologies to the team if I jinxed it Wink

But XMR is still holding up well in choppy seas.  It is impossible to know if Monero will keep rising in a real BTC bull market until after Bitoin convincingly pulls out of the bearish channel it's been in since July, but the signs look pretty good.

I see bigger volume.

Volume is what leads to price with cap, I have more optimism.

I wouldn't mind a slow, consistent uptrend for a change.

I don’t think crypto does slow, or consistent.

Lololol.

Yup.  I said for a change...  And that's exactly the problem.  -_-

A guy can hope tho.  At least give me that (for my sanity ffs).

I have some interesting/paranoid speculation...  It takes a moment to get to Monero... but hang with me.

I know my opinions on BTC forks might be different than some of my Monero brothers, and for full disclosure I believe BCH is misguided at best, and an all out scammy attack at worst, and BSV is an absolute abomination from any perspective.  I think the idea of the metanet, although fascinating, is something that will destroy the cypherpunk vision of Bitcoin. I think the correct way to achieve the metanet ideals is to run it as an opt in sidechain on Bitcoin.  The reason I think storing all kinds of data on the Bitcoin blockchain is a bad idea is it will necessarily centralize not only the miners, but also the fully validating nodes, which is a distinction with it's own essay, but not this one.

Storing virtually unlimited data on the blockchain will require both exponentially gigantic troves of data storage space, as well as the very fastest internet bandwidth, AND enormous CPU power for validation.  This will re-collapse the fully validating nodes with the miners and render those entities to be businesses on the size of FAANG, or nation states.

In the end a relatively small group of  node operators (For example USA, Google, Facebook, Amazon, Microsoft, China, Russia, and maybe 5-6 more) would then control ALL the "distributed" (but no longer effectively decentralized) copies of the blockchain. They could then form a cabal that could then set the monetary policy of the new world digital currency.

I know...  Kinda paranoid.

But if that is not what happens with BSV then what is it?

Well if not that?  Then it is a total fraud.  Craig Wright is a scammer, a compulsive liar, and smart enough to think up the swindle of the millennium.  At least if he can pull it off.  Craig, along with his billionaire backer, Calvin Aire...

Wait...  Why would Satoshi Nakamoto actually need the backing of a billionaire who is famous for making his money from "businesses" that skirt on the edge of legality or even just operate in spite of it?  A billionaire/fugitive who enjoys hosting underage girls to twerk for him on various islands where he can have accounts that the dominant nation states cannot censor.

He wouldn't.  And he would not need to unlock his "Tulip Trust" before he could leverage HUNDRED OF MILLIONS if not BILLIONS of dollars with of bitcoin he amassed even after the first couple years.

Quote
I feel the need for a parenthetical disclaimer here... 100% of the Bitcoin and Monero I hold comes from the game of poker.  I never mined or bought a single satoshi or flufftoshi (I know we can't call it that) but instead played poker for my stake. So my criticism of CA may seem somewhat two faced.  But even back then I would not play the game on his network since even back then it was BY FAR the shadiest of all the major poker enterprises in play at the time.

So... what is Craig up to?  Greg Maxwell has warned that there is code in the "upgrade" to enable theft:

https://www.reddit.com/r/bsv/comments/edr0av/massive_replay_theft_coming_to_a_scamchain_near/

So is Calvin pumping BSV while the zombies join in thinking that the "shadowy courtier" finally showed up to give Craig the access to the Satoshi keys?   If it is a scam, then this pump is a set up, and perhaps his dump will be fueled by the ability for him to take the Satoshi coins via the "Genesis" upgrade that just went in today.

Well, that leads us here: If Craig Wright decides to ONLY move the Satoshi coins on the BSV blockchain... well... then you can bet your bottom satoshi (BTC) that he is scamming.  If he does not sell BCH or BTC first then he is leveraging something in the new genesis code to take control over the Satoshi coins.

OK.  And now relevant for our little community.

Craig has been talking his book all along.  BSV is the TRUE Bitcoin and should rise!!!!  BCH is a failed abortion.  And BTC is the segwit infested fraud.

So he wants low BTC prices, High BSV prices, and probably wants to kick Roger in the nuts.

But there is one other chain he has mentioned fairly frequently...

Monero. (and the founder's reward trusted garbage chain)

https://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/aykqoy/craig_wright_threatens_to_make_monero_and_zcash/
https://www.reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/9whmwb/craig_wright_privacy_coins_are_all_compromised/

What if this is talking his book too?  I mean.. if he does dump satoshis coins on all the BSV morons...  What is he gonna do with all the traceable crypto then?

He is going to buy the coin(s) that he has been trying to talk down now for years that will cover his tracks.  He may dump those again, probably on Bisq for BTC. Because let's face it.  If he IS a fraud, then that is what he is going for.

So...

If you see BSV get dumped hard...

In my humble opinion it might not be a bad idea to buy some Monero.

Because it goes up next.

What do you think?

PS.  If he is really trying to earn the legacy of actual bitcoin?  Then my bet is he (or maybe Calvin) in the actual Antichrist. Just thought I would add that to up the crazy of this post a little.

That is some hell of a speculation cAPSLOCK Smiley

Monero will be there for the ones needing it. And that is a truly magnificent thing to be able to say.

- You can figure out what will happen, not when /Warren Buffett
- Pay any Bitcoin address privately with a little help of Monero.

It will be nice to get back to fucking .03 again!

But then I'm still not selling. Cheesy

So did I, way back - but I just traded and traded to get the average down.  And bought more, which helps if you're under water.  When it did rocket up in 2016, I was sitting pretty.

I hope it works out for you, and I am sure Monero will help, it does look like sooner or later it will break out properly again, it wasn't so long back it was under $40.

Hopium:

BTC crashed from ~$19,500 in Dec. 2017 to ~$14,500 on Jan. 9, 2018. That's the day Monero reached its ATH of $542, or 0.0347 BTC.

It's likely we'll see an altcoin bubble following the next bitcoin bubble again. If Bitcoin were to reach $100K at the top of the next bubble, then crash 25% when altcoin season hits it's pinnacle, one XMR at 0.035 would carry a value of $2,625.
