Next spot...  Previous support, as well as a psychological barrier.  Would not be surprised to bounce off this one considering the lowish volume... but man someone really did press the fast forward button:

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

Hmmm, could we have run out of weak hands?

I've found it amusing the last week watching someone try to shake the trees only to come up empty. Hope they lost their coins rather than sold into themselfs. Cheesy

Great posts cAPSLOCK, thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Online financial privacy should be as simple as using cash offline, else it will remain a minority (like myself) using it as unfortunately with most privacy focused projects. However there is a group of users that would normally not care, but now they have to. Not sure how many DNM’s and its users need to get busted before it becomes clear you can’t use a coin with a transparent ledger, but both ends have a clear incentive looking for alternatives. And currently there really is only one.

Absolutely.

But there has only ever been one.  It's just that the penny has finally dropped.  That, coupled with a lack of liquidity is a perfect storm.

But hey, this is Monero, of course it's leaping up again.

Strangely some old altcoins like xmr, zec, dash started to raise slightly. Is it a wake up of the oldies? Is there somebody started to collect them? Are they preparing for a new bull run after bitcoin. We will see  Smiley

Unfortunately there were, and still are, some imposters/scams like dark and snark coin clouding the vision of new users. They have large advertising budgets and are actively being promoted by the gemini twins, shilbert and armstrong. It is a shame really but I have always believed that the market will eventually catch up and Monero will properly reflect the Achilles heel of Bitcoin in its price, whatever that price point may be.

How high do u guys think the price will  go before end of year ? I guess 120 usd Cheesy

If 2020 is year of Monero, than will have to go way way more then only to $120.  I would say $200-1000.

This was a bit more then 2 months ago. I am sure some random readers of this thread thought I am crazy.  What if I was wrong  and price will be more then $1000?

So, I think the different landscape when looking at XMRBTC vs XMRUSD is currently very interesting, and brings some things into perspective...  If Bitcoin is going to be rising to even a small extent it means it will be MUCH easier to reach a new USD ATH, and Febo's above prophesy actually starts to look kind of conservative.

If we can at least hold XMR/USD as bitcoin rises then we will easily be just pulled up by bitcoin as it rises...

If XMRBTC continues to rise?  It could get a little FOMOey, in my opinion.

XMR's USD peak was around the 500 USD mark when Bitcoin last mooned.

Back then, let's say that was roughly a 40th (or 2.5%) of the Bitcoin price.   If this run 'season' plays out then a 50K BTC is far from difficult to imagine be end of 2021.

Monero making it to a four figure dollar sum is not outside the realms of possibility.

I certainly think an ATH is likely.   2 x ATH - why not?

Definitely over 500.  I can't remember an exact peak, because it varied wildly between exchanges, but I did buy 4x Ledger Nano X  for well under 1 XMR.  I thought that was in the range of 6XX, peaking over 700, but that might have been CAD?  It was running about 80c USD at that time.  Well probably high US$5XX then, so never mind me  Tongue'

I'm  Expecting 1000-2000 USD.  Just call me a bull.  Nobody here will be shocked  Grin

Here's a little blast from the past:

what's the price going to be by dec. 31?

will we see $200?

Someone should make a thread where we guess exact prize.

I am quite certain price will go over USD ATH before the end of the year. If it will go beyond to $200 is also possible but that is not so sure thing anymore. If it will stay above $200 on Dec.31?  I would give 25% chance to that.

I doubt XMR will spend any time in the $200 range. The price will creep toward $150 before exploding all the way to $300, and then peak near $425 by mid December.

Going to effectively triple in price in the space of a month? Yeah I highly doubt that will happen.

Be pretty shocked if it hit $200 by end of 2017

It happens.  Pretty regularly, actually.  Most recently XMR tripled in a week, back in August.

"It's happened before so it WILL happen again!"

Infallible logic!

You can read it any way you like.  Maybe you should short...

To merely revisit a 3 year old high would be too sad.  Shattering it will be far more satisfying.

One year ago, XMR was $6.  A year before that, it was 40 cents. Today, XMR is $133.  One year from now, 1 XMR=$______

Three years later... $133.  So I was a bit ahead of myself, but we can try again.  One year from now, 1 XMR=$______

Actually we have ~5 weeks to go on that 3 years.  I expect $133 to be an historical footnote by that time.  Make It So!

Completely off topic...

The new "Feather Wallet" for Monero is an EXCELLENT implementation.  Especially if you like Electrum as it really is a strong, well done imitation of that interface, but with a lot of interesting built in features, like xmr.to for one thing.  It is non-proprietary and creates .keys files that are CLI compatible and uses the new 14 word seed scheme by default and yet is compatible with 13/25 word seeds as well.

Really for me my default desktop wallet now probably.

Yep, I see 1000$ XMR entirely possible, certainly far, far more than a 50k BTC. I am, however, concerned about the fireworks from law enforcement, (from any and all countries) if XMR becomes widely used in DNM. Declaring it illegal altogether is, again, not outside the realms of possibility.
