Hey Guys , I have Monero on a ledger and I would like to claim Monero classic as well but don’t know how. I don’t want to sell the xmc but I would like to have them in a wallet. Can someone explain how to do that?

In order to claim these coins, you would have to convert your Ledger 24 word mnemonic seed into a standard 25 word Monero seed and subsequently import it into a Monero Classic wallet. Probably not worth the incurred risks.

Privacy matters, use Monero - A true untraceable cryptocurrency

I am not sure if it was possible to have Monero on Ledger hard wallet when we upgraded protocol and old chain turned into XMC. You would most likely need private keys or seed of the wallet where you hold your Monero before.  I also dont understand why you want to risk your coins by giving someone your private key if you dont plan to sell them. They are and will forever be on a wallet where you had your Monero before that fork.  I sugest you to not do anything before you plan to sell them.

Which idiots are talking about this monero classic scam coin on the XMR thread Cheesy Go ahead and give away your private keys onto their 'official wallets' and see what happens. Just stick to the real monero, 1 XMR is worth more than a million scammy fork coins

As it is speculation thread - what do you think will happen to Monero XMR and its price when Monero as anonymous cryptocurrency will be banned by government (which is quite possible at least in European Union - in the light of the new  European Commission  AML directive..)

I'm betting Monero will outlive the "European Commission"

Any major negative political decision can have only a short-term negative impact on price; nothing more. Monero has gone too far (capable dev team, devoted community, real-world use, tradition) to be stopped by greedy, incompetent bureaucrats...
What can they actually do - ban it from EU based exchanges.? And there are decentralized exchanges on the horizon... Smiley

I dont believe European commission will ever give such directive to its members.  In more autocratic countries where that will happen I agree with bitebits. Price will increase there since it will be harder to get.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NyZGkNPCkZk

Watch here at 40:00. It is USA not EU, but you can see they are questioning how useful it is Bitcoin with transparent ledger. And its transparency call a design flaw.

Do you really believe that Apple wants for Huawei to know how much they pay their suppliers and how much they pay their researchers and engineers.  Do you really believe that governments wants to reveal their spies they have in other countries and in companies by using transparent ledger cryptocurrencies.   Do you really believe any police or court system will support that wealth of people is known just to anyone. Should that not put those people way more in danger and risk of being robbed?

This "opaque ledger crypto currencies will be baned" has to stop. Because it will not happen.  I mean it can happen at some part of worlds. Also there will be some part of communities that will want that to happen. But on wide scale this will not happen because world, society and economy need opaque ledger crypto currencies!

XMR is always one of the most robust coins for me. I couldn't make an investment recently, but I plan to invest if I can adjust my budget. It can take some.

As it is speculation thread - what do you think will happen to Monero XMR and its price when Monero as anonymous cryptocurrency will be banned by government (which is quite possible at least in European Union - in the light of the new  European Commission  AML directive..)

I dont believe European commission will ever give such directive to its members.  In more autocratic countries where that will happen I agree with bitebits. Price will increase there since it will be harder to get.

That is a great link, thanks for posting it!

Monero represents for me a lot of stability in terms of cryptocurrency, because I see it very safe and it is one of the altcoins that hardly dies the way others can do it, Monero's project is very strong, it also has an immensely large community and marketing of Monero is impressive, all cryptocurrency enthusiasts want to have Monero in their portfolios, due to their incredible anonymity characteristics and being impossible to trace, this is a characteristic that distinguishes between the others, marking a notable difference.

It is important to clarify that many users of DeepWeb trust this currency fully, and in a market as big as in DeepWeb and that Monero is one of the main currencies like Bitcoin is remarkable everything that the future of this currency can bring.
