Is it a sure sign of becoming insane when you start to enjoy the TrueCryptonaire postings?  Undecided

I'm asking myself this question as well since some time.
I've put my definite answer on hold, waiting for him to switch to whatever direction is opposite to mine. (so basically, when he becomes uber-ultra-bearish).
I speculate I'll enjoy less then.

Monero's privacy and therefore fungibility are MUCH stronger than Bitcoin's.
This makes Monero a better candidate to deserve the term "digital cash".

This meta speculation is becoming too much for me to bear.

I recommend you use TrueCryptonaire as a form of entertainment and nothing more. I like the bipolar comedy but will never make decisions based on it.

Risto, could I ask if you were one of the yesterday whales?

If not, could you bring us your analisys of the event?

Triangle closing in less than 24h. Which direction? Violins?

I say with the violins of the apocalypse and inclined to the downside... but I would love upperside

And BTC has a huge triangle that is closing and it looks like it might break up and out. Fingers are crossed for us, but I guess down due to BTC going up. (if)

Actually, if you look at Monero on a daily, it looks like 2 P formation like rises. A short term triangle doesn't worry me much. We appear to be (maybe) in a bigger sideways consolidation.
If you look on the weekly, it looks more like a top as the pattern is similar to past tops.
I would say it depends most on what BTC does.

I am not sure that BTC denominated TA is better than USD denominated, in terms of forecasting.  The first compounds the already substantial inherent uncertainties, and exogenous impulse factors.

After the reality hits that the 2.0 coins are mostly hyped scams. Maybe the community will come back to the proof-of-work coins such as Litecoin and Monero.

Selling ETH and buying Litecoin and XMR might end up being a good trade at some point?

Hey guys, did anyone actually not read the entirety of this poll and vote for monero?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1391752.0

That OP suddenly changed the poll title...

The trolling is getting somewhat sophisticated.

Risto, could I ask if you were one of the yesterday whales?

I can answer that on his behalf: No it wasn't.

This guy knows:-

Someone stormed into the operating theater, grabbed a pair of defibrillators and then shouted - "STAND BACK!" - before unleashing a double dose of 80000 volts to an otherwise sleeping patient. Following this he probably then turned to the startled chief surgeon and quietly said something along the lines of - "that should do it" - before walking out with a bottle of whiskey in his hand.

Great answer!

+1

It's always worth keeping an eye on Litecoin. I don't own any at the moment but could never really understand why it prompted so much resentment, other than Bitcoin maximalists pissing on their nearest downward competitor and Dogecoin delusionists barking at their nearest upward competitor.

Frankly it's better than Bitcoin. It's released fairly, it takes Satoshi and 'Satoshi's Dump' out of the equation, and dispenses with the ridiculous pseudo-religion that has built up around "his" persona (or lack of).

Actually Monero and Litecoin share some similar qualities in that respect: taking something ambiguous, polishing it up a bit, then re-releasing it in a demonstrably fair manner. Plus, the LTC volume is great and the potential is kept alive because of the Chinese factor.

Interesting poll by the way.

To further expand on a chart I saw posted by @cointrader11 on twitter here is more ETH and XMR correlation. Notice the dates on ETH. Does this mean same person(s) in control of ETH are in control of XMR?

EDIT: I'm an asshole and cut the dates off, XMR is current and ETH is about 1/15/16-2/15/16.

It's true that xmr and eth are very correlated recently and I am not sure how to explain this. A sell wall is up it seems that someone wants the price to stay around like 240k to 280k sats.

BTC hedging flows -> 95% ETH, 1% XMR.  ETH profit flows -> 10-15% XMR (note XMR serious ramp began when ETH profit-taking began, 3/3).  Profit taking + short selling -> XMR price down now, up later, volatility up overall.  Traders happy, investors frequently annoyed, sometimes overjoyed.

It is because the smart investors will invest in Monero and Ethereum Tongue
But I like this speculation topic because a lot of people give good insights about the price.
And I have a question for you guys, I want to buy more Monero, and you guys are speculating a lot in this topic.
My last buy was at: 0.00289041 and at the moment it is already lower, so I could buy now but I have seen some of you saying that it would go down more before it goes up.
When do you think is the best time to buy?

Buy right now! If it breaks the trendline on 0.0024 you might want to sell again.
