Looks like the BTC price moving up $30 put Monero in a "flatline" I mean literally... on 15 minute bars the price is almost perfectly flat! I've not seen it do that quite this way before and I'm wondering which way it's going to break out?

Monero is now used as main buffercoin for the btc-altcoin traders. If they don't like the moving of btc they use XMR as buffer before returning to btc. That is good...

Yep Dash is older ...
The chain is older but mixing features weren't added until later on. I don't remember if that was before or after the appearance of Bytecoin.

Bullish article on Bitcoin by Marcus Swanepoel (Co-founder and CEO at Luno (formerly BitX)Interesting bullet point at the end of the article though. I hope Monero remains being an idealistic but ambitious and fun project. I like being naive and positive about how this all turns out. Truly anonymous digital currencies launching — surprisingly, one of Bitcoin’s main issues is still the incorrect perception that it is fully anonymous and predominantly used by criminals. With a number of new, truly anonymous digital currencies [...], regulator and media attention will shift to these as the ‘bad guys’ and Bitcoin will be seen as relatively much safer

The chain is older but mixing features weren't added until later on. I don't remember if that was before or after the appearance of Bytecoin. Darksend came well after Bytecoin. The betas (not open source) were available in early April, which was shortly before Bitmonero/Monero. Bytecoin had been available for a while by that point. A non-beta open-source release of darksend didn't come until well after the Bitmonero/Monero launch.

This article might help. Remember the fake volume was for bitcoin, not monero

Thank you, yes I know. Sorry, I am asking here but I guess discussing btc has enough relevance for Monero.

This article might help. Remember the fake volume was for bitcoin, not monero things have changed since this paper: the 3 main exchanges in china now apply a tax (i think 0.2 %) for each transaction, and margin trading has been slowed by authorities.

oof going down, I was too scared to flip out to bitcoin when I could have.
After last time BTC went over 1k it was quickly dumped into I guess 1k feels like a good profit point to traders.

Price hit is probably Jaxx news, they gave up on XMR integration. Wish they hadn't ever said they would to do it in the first place, we have had plenty more going on to rave about... EDIT: Strong demand for the cheap coins

Yeah I did notice that 100k buy.
Shit Jaxx bastards it should have been so easy the way Fluffy described they should have approached it.
Was the reality that significantly different?
