The fact that XMRUSD is higher now than it was before the fake news hit suggests that I have been underestimating the size and growth of the economy. I had previously considered the gap between my Fisher equation estimate and the market clearing price to indicate the degree of forward speculation, but if that were true I would have expected the reaction yesterday to be much stronger and more protracted, as short-horizon speculation should have been biased much more bearishly until the next squeeze caused a reset. Instead, we see deep and persistent demand. Either the committed longs have deeper pockets than I thought, or estimates based solely on alphabay statistics undervalue XMRUSD by roughly a factor of 2.

P.S. {Edit} BTW the hard fork is over? Already? I thought it was gonna be this weekend... hmm
It's really that hard to perform a non-contentious protocol upgrade. Also it seem more and more this paper by the Zcash people was a hit job, with a domain registered a few days ago and published around the HF (few hours ago). Yep this field is that nasty. The key is non-contentious Yup there will always be people opposing a HF, even one that isn't contentious.

Aminorex, what do you think of MimbleWimble?
A lovely thing. I would definitely buy an MW coin on spec. Getting side-chain adoption is a tough row to hoe. For both social and technical reasons I don't expect a generally usable liquidity vehicle to derive from any BTC side-chain in 2017 - and much longer for MW specifically. As I see it, XMR is still the crypto-currency which best represents the essential properties of cash money, and provides by far the best liquidity (and exchange stability!) of all fungible crypto. A truly liquid and usable MW side-chain for BTC could change that, but not for some years yet. I am less enthusiastic about ETH+ZKSNARKS than is Rangedriver, because I think ETH security is a bad joke due to the DAO history and the vast, utterly baroque, attack surface of such a beast. Also, I consider ETH to be something like the Theranos of crypto (but less honest). They do have the advantage of good liquidity right now, but not in a fungible vehicle.

Monero Transactions History Can Be Revealed and Exposed: Researchhttps://cointelegraph.com/news/monero-transactions-history-can-be-revealed-and-exposed-researchhttp://monerolink.com/monerolink.pdfFluffyPony now claims 80% of transactions are untraceable. So 20% of your transactions are Fucked. Guess which % your Transaction are in? They probably only need one of those 20% transaction to get a warrant for the rest. Only question now is, can you get out before the price crash? FYI: Tune in next week , when only 40% of your transactions are untraceable. Then in the months , following None of your Transactions were untraceable. Then a year later, here is a picture of your cellmate. (FYI: He likes to Snuggle.) Is this true? Can fluffypony confirm?

That is a big accusation with no (at least none that I am able to see) information to back it up. Perhaps you could elaborate on the issue a little bit more?

Seems Monero lowest fee just reduced by 5 times and are now 0.004 XMR or $0.081 what is 3 times less then Bitcoin with the difference that Monero transactions have no delays.
Defiantly an upside. I used to hate the high transaction fees for Monero, but right now they seem better that Bitcoin’s transaction fees. Then again, I do consider Bitcoin’s fees to be way to high.

This kind of posting here and elsewhere just pretty much proves this has been a deliberate FUD campaign. Seems to me that the sock puppets and paid-off campaigners just hope to keep posting new topics and thread additions, about this non-issue, to catch *newbies* afresh and inject fear and uncertainty (and doubt LOL) into the idea that Monero really IS the best and only true fungible anon crypto. Expecting 'em to spend any time reading actual responses a page or two back -- that totally debunk the entire topic -- isn't part of their campaign job assignment. Ain't gonna happen unfortunately. The good news however is... it really ain't workin' for 'em HoneyPony's still holding steady just a smidge under our new apparent floor of around $21 dollars. Just gotta wait a while for this shitstorm to blow over I guess... wonder how long they'll TRY to keep it up??

3000% in 2016. No pump at all. He is saying about current crypto Bubble that happened in 2017. Monero went from stable $12 to stable $20 and is holding there no matter what. I dont think stability mattes that much at this point specially for other coins that are 100% speculative. It does count tiny bit for Monero for those that use it. Seems Monero lowest fee just reduced by 5 times and are now 0.004 XMR or $0.081 what is 3 times less then Bitcoin with the difference that Monero transactions have no delays.

Bitcoins lowest fees are 4 times higher then Moneros and you can in some cases wait for days that transaction happen at all. To have it happen as fast as possible you will most likely pay x10 or x20
