Yes but it has not grown 20% today. That's just a regular pump. Monero being a good coin does not mean it does not get pumped by people who don't care about the coin.

You need to follow the news - There is currently an influx of like 1mil USD per day being put into cryptos - Watch/track this sites top header every day, you will see what I mean

https://coincap.io (Not it's not my site, just watching the numbers that's all).

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

I know it is. But the pump happened in 10 minutes. Occam's razor is telling me this is just a pump unless it was someone with REALLY big pockets that got suddenly genuinely interested in Monero.

There were also logs released from the latest dev meeting , so maybe that was it. I gave up trying to figure it out, just roll with it. We are back down a bit anyhow, let's see where we are tomorrow. Cheesy

There was correction that went to 0.0185. I think that was perfect moment to buy, not 0.022 that was only two hours earlier and probably 2 hours from now Tongue

Looked like a stop hunter to me.  Shook some BTC back to the lending market, anyway.  It wasn't that big of a sell off, but I think the book was pulled out from under it.

I think nobody got any of that unless they already had the net out to catch it when it fell.  I tried, but polo just locked up on me.
It's weird how I often seem to watch these things unfold.  I don't spend that much time watching charts.  (Do I?  Tongue )

Well there was someone with $2.5mm usd worth of monero selling at once.  Interesting to say the least.

I really feel like there are parties trying their best to keep Monero from "taking off" as it were. You see a lot of suppression popping up on the sell side and well timed dumps that could easily have been much more profitable if they had taken their time and sold that same amount over a longer period of time.

Trying to manipulate markets fails over the long term. It can however provide many profit opportunities to other market participants at the expense of the manipulator or manipulators.

Edit: The sudden dump took XMR temporarily to 0.0143 XBT. It has now recovered back to 0.019.

Concerned that blockchain bloat will lead to centralization? Storing less than 4 GB of data once required the budget of a superpower and a warehouse full of punched cards. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/87/IBM_card_storage.NARA.jpg https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Punched_card

My hypothesis is now that someone had accumulated for some time and tried to pump last few days. Market didnt respond as planned and hence they dumped their accumulation and exited....On that note: Cheap Monero atm (;-)

$100+ for Monero, I lost $20,000+ (U.S.D) in a week because I was uninformed and I didn't really understand what Monero was. I didn't think it would come back even stronger. It has been like 6-7 months but I have been proven wrong. I thought the pump and dump last year was over for Monero but never mind, I was foolish. HODL.

P.s HODL! (Hold-On-to-Dear-Life), Whatever, it was only $20,000+, at least wasn't $2,000,000+

This dump is great. I think it's done by someone who wanted to jump in on the rising Bitcoin price.
Took the opportunity to place a decent buy order. I moved the price up one euro. Sorry for the others who were hoping for cheap monero Cheesy but it's still cheap compared to the 29 euros of yesterday!
