ERM...
Where's this coming from.
Hopefilly not CB coins.
I mean I've been expecting Monero to rise for some time just based on the fact that it actually has utility and is just doing one thing.
And I think that since a lot of the exchanges have dropped it, that should make its price more volatile, but also more accurate in the end, because it is harder to manipulate.
So I see organic reasons for a significant rise, but what's set this off?

I would hazard the 300btc that was washed and the lack of paper monero is to thank. I gotta say those coins I bought at .03 are a bit heavy. Luckily I really don't need them and it proves the fact to never put all your eggs in one basket no matter how utilitarian and needed that basket is.

Do you want to actively trade it or do you just need exchange services? Third party facilitators work best with Monero right now I would say. I've never had any issues.

Yeah fuck polo, since circle (goldman ballsacks) raped them and stole coins I will never use that place again. Can't use Krakon? I haven't sold or traded is many years now but I read the Decentralized exchanges are worth the try now.

Okay, so here comes your top indicator.
What if this is somehow organic? What if people are just figuring out what many of us figured out a long time ago that this project has value because it does something that bitcoin doesn't do and can't do (on the base layer).
And that is not to say, I think there should be some Minerva versus Bitcoin thought. I'm so fed up with that. From the very beginning I saw when there was sort of the dark twin and doing tradeoffs that might make it blow up or become politically unviable or a lot of things. And aside from the last one, it's held up pretty well over time for its utility and just improved its selling point.
Yeah, like I said, probably your top indicator right there, me mouthing off.
But what if this is organic?

The real answer is, that nobody really knows and nobody can say definitely if it is one or the other. I do appreciate the rise in value in Monero, but it is still very undervalued compared to what it offers. Essentially there is nothing that offers similar level of anonymity and privacy across the whole range of blockchains. Now there are many thousands of layer 1 blockchains, and at best they have some mixing smart contracts or something similar. But here we also see the impact of bans on monero. I think were it not surpressed this much with all the de listings, that it would be even priced considerably higher than it is right now.

Hey, cAPS been a while mate. Not sure why the price went sweet, maybe we will have an alt season after all. I hope we do, I just saw the price looking healthy and thought it would be a good idea to reduce my long-held bags a little - hence looking at exchange options to use. I used to be a marketmaker on Polo back in the day when it was 'the place' to trade, but of late XMR has been de-listed in too many places and Polo is not what was, so it makes sense right now to find an outlet and take some profit. I like Monero too much to quit altogether though, it's still a great project. BTW I was buying some art in Europe recently and we ended up chatting about BTC and crypto generally. When we struck our deal he asked if I wanted to pay in Monero. I did pay in XMR and it was great to trade that way. I bet he's been smiling in the past few weeks - good for him. Anyway, over the past couple of days I looked around and dived into Kucoin, which is overly complicated to use and very security-based, but does have decent liquidity. So I am sorted for now. As for Monero; after over ten years it is still going strong, long may it continue.

Hiya Kurious. Yeah I am still here sort of...
It's interesting... Monero price action. Something has to be causing it... And the more I think about it the more kurious I become (ha...).
Could just be someone continuing to move BTC from some nefarious action through XMR. But that seems to have been going on for a while now.
Over the last 24 hours we have seen 3.25 tx per second. That's actually sort of crazy when you consider Bitcoin has been doing under 5 (4.94 ) per second itself. Of course the heavy centralizing chains like ETH do much more (155ish?). But chains like ETH are a different thing.
The current direction of Bitcoin is a big question mark. People are starting to worry about things like government/nation state adoption. As well as centralization by actors like Strategy and the ETFs which are both front end proxies for Coinbase custody. I understand their concern.
As the BTC mempool is slowing down while OTC trades and ETFs soak up most of the action, the XMR mempool keeps chugging along.
AND I am watching some of the most hardened maxi cypherpunks (including a core developer) start to question the direction of BTC and lean towards more cypherpunk thoughts again.
Which leads straight to Montangle.
Not that I think the BTC experiment is over by any means... I see it more as waves of probability... and that probably Monero still has value.

Most likely some automated spam, as much as your hopium makes you believe otherwise. It does not benefit the chain at all. The current direction of Bitcoin is a big question mark. These are not valid concerns, and it is an inevitable consequence for any top asset. Sadly for us, Monero can never become as big as Bitcoin as government would never allow that. It is already difficult to acquire Monero.

I called the top. 😜. It's rare for me to sell, but I sold some too. I'll probably be buying back not too far from here.
On another topic, I've been interacting with some mongnero people on Nostr. One of you is here, or at least was here. So you should reach out and poke me. Don't worry, I'm not going to hurt your opposite. I asked you if you remembered you said you remembered that should be enough. I'm not hiding, so you know who I am. Not that I have any problem with hiding. That's the point of all of this, isn't it?

I thought about grabbing some ammo there (totally agreed with your call) but then I thought about breaking out cold storage, seeing if my krakon account still worked and said fuck that i'm gonna just sit here and watch the world go by.
