I called the top. 😜. It's rare for me to sell, but I sold some too. I'll probably be buying back not too far from here.

On another topic, I've been interacting with some mongnero people on Nostr. One of you is here, or at least was here. So you should reach out and poke me. Don't worry, I'm not going to hurt your opposite.  I asked you if you remembered you said you remembered that should be enough.  I'm not hiding, so you know who I am. Not that I have any problem with hiding. That's the point of all of this, isn't it?

I thought about grabbing some ammo there (totally agreed with your call) but then I thought about breaking out cold storage, seeing if my krakon account still worked and said fuck that i'm gonna just sit here and watch the world go by. Smiley

I am beginning to see a massive uptick in the concept of the importance of privacy the greater btc community and particularly newer Bitcoin community swelling up.

And along with that, a lot of concern around the lack of cypherpunk idealism in Bitcoin anymore.

A lot of people on social media have been pointing to links such as this.  It was even posted by this hyper-maxi BTC core developer who has been working on the cashu protocol.  He has definitely toed the maxi line when it comes to saying mean things about altcoins and frankly the people that do that are almost always right.

https://antimoonboy.com/darknetmarketmaximalism/

He has been working on a Bitcoin Layer 2 protocol extension that has its greatest benefit, fantastic privacy, Yet it requires trusted third parties. At some point, the dissonance has to become more clear.

I think the reason that many of us ever came to Monero in the first place is because we saw that it offered something extremely valuable that would be either impossible or very difficult on Bitcoin.  Or maybe we just wanted to buy some weed off of some dark net, I don't know. But, of course, that proves the point, doesn't it?

And now I see the beginnings of the rumblings of the masses realizing that Bitcoin does have certain trade-offs that make using it in particular ways difficult or even risky.

So, if some of the masses begin to understand this and they can figure out how to buy Monero in this world where it's been de-listed from so many places, I could see a price spike at the very least.

I spend nearly all of my social media time on Nostr now, and I will say that it is a maxi heavyb world (mostly good), but for sure the next most commonly talked about project on that platform is Monero.

I noticed that to. It seems the 2021 cycle missed this. Now seems different.

Does anyone use retoswap? Was looking a bit yesterday. It is sad that after half year have so little traders. Traders from Local Monero went to different Local Monero clones. I hope eventually ( after few of them will scam them out), they will all move to retoswap. Can imagine that reason they dont use it is c because it is not a website but a program to download.

I don't think something like this has a chance of ever being implemented directly on Bitcoin. Maybe as a layer 2, but we have yet to see that.

People would be surprised at how many users I have encountered that have joined crypto during that cycle, and have never heard of Monero let alone what it offers. However, things are improving. 1 user at a time.

I'm planning to significantly increase my Monero holdings — but only if XMR gets relisted on the major exchanges. If that happens, it'll skyrocket back into the top 10 without question.

For now though, there's a good chance speculators will trigger a dump due to how overbought the coin looks. One solid excuse could be negative macro news, like a spike in US inflation. That would be the perfect trigger.

If you are planning to buy it to use it, then why would this be relevant? If you are planning to buy to chase big gains, you have other options instead. I don't think the prospects of getting relisted are good right now.

Honestly, buying XMR is one of the smartest moves right now. I truly believe there has to be at least one solid privacy coin in the top 10 — it’s a cornerstone of what crypto tech is all about. Monero didn’t fall because the tech got worse, it fell because CEXes decided to delist it. That says more about centralized exchanges than about the coin itself.

This is exactly why people should start migrating to DEXes. CEXes act like gatekeepers — they manipulate listings and push their own agendas, and users just get caught in the crossfire. If we want real freedom in crypto, privacy coins like XMR and decentralized trading are the way forward.

Monero fell? If you are talking about ranking, sure. If you are talking about the price, it is doing better than 99% of the altcoins from the previous altcoin cycle. As companies keep printing altcoins with bigger and bigger valuation, this is somewhat inevitable. Monero has to improve its accessibility and UX if you want to onboard a lot of new crypto people. I think that is where the issue lies more.

While there have been improvements, acquiring XMR in a decentralized way is still not that accessible. Compare the action flows between acquiring a ERC20 token using a DEX if you own ETH, and acquiring XMR if you own another altcoin. Plenty of room to improve I think.

You’ve got a point — Monero’s native PoW chain definitely makes DEX swaps way trickier compared to ERC-20 tokens. Without bridges, validators, or wrapped assets, true decentralized trading for XMR is still kinda out of reach. We’ll probably need to wait for more advanced solutions or see CEX dominance fade a bit.

For now, I still use Monero through centralized platforms. Not ideal, but it gets the job done.

I understand the issues in accessibility… but it has to improve in UX? Seems pretty simple to me imo… what is difficult about it? It’s default privacy…

Ew, that is ugly.  I haven't thought about that page in a long time.

The API link is:  https://github.com/AltQuick-com/api/blob/master/altquick-api-offical-docs.md

You got access to do wild shit with the API, have fun with it.

Are there any exchanges that work with no JavaScript?

If you post your Monero address I'll tip you.  No worries if that is a privacy concern, I get it.  I just appreciate folks pointing out shit we've forgotten.

If Monero (XMR) gets relisted on major exchanges, it could see a dramatic price surge and potentially reclaim a spot in the top 10, given its recent strong performance despite limited access on mainstream platforms.

Fuck them, they dump infinite paper coins and keep the price down.

True, but I don't think the likelihood of that is good right now. If anything, I think we may get even more draconian anti piracy laws soon.

It is an undeniable fact that its price has indeed come down, which is not even that much of a difference, and if you look at the reason behind it, it is also running at a lower price. Slowly everything will get better and it will be at a good price again.
