The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

So, buying 1 share, in a year one would recoup their initial 1 BTC if difficulty and block reward maintained at todays level...

Sorry, couldn't resist ^^ Wink

Oh, and maybe you'll be the guy that'll make me finally buy a couple shares at GLBSE and get into mining, even if only as as share holder. <-- Not kidding!

We are very interested.

Will you begin to pay dividends in Apr. 17th? Or would it be later than that? Thanks.

Hi friedcat,

Great question! Any bond holders for the first coupon payment on Monday, April 16, 2012 will receive an extra day of income for being the first to purchase. To be clear, you will be holding the bond for less that 6 days and will receive a payment for the full 7 days of mining.

Best,

I would like to take a moment to thank the individuals who have so far made this bond a resounding success. Pre IPO sales have reached 3/4 of the total amount to be issued which has me completely floored.

I am so grateful for your confidence in the bond and in me. Your votes of confidence are truly appreciated.

Any chance you can hold the remaining IPO shares until the actual IPO so that smaller investors have a shot at getting some?

Well, these appear to have gone quickly. When's the next 10k issue? Tongue

Someone should make a page comparing the terms, costs, and returns of the various mining perpetuities out there right now (puremining, bitbond, and gigamining, and possibly others?)

As for another issue, we'll have to wait and see on that.

I would also wait until coupons are paid out to start comparisons.  Wink

GLBSE just posted this topic: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=75870.0 is that post in reaction to the pre sale today? If so do you have a backup plan for the pre sale shares?

As you can tell on that thread - I am totally pissed about them changing the rules mid-stream (again).

Our family was terrorized by Homeland Security.  Read all about it here:  http://www.jmwagner.com/ and http://www.burtw.com/  Any donations to help us recover from the $300,000 in legal fees and forced donations to the Federal Asset Forfeiture slush fund are greatly appreciated!

As disclosure, I have subscribed for 500 bonds, and I am very annoyed at the heavy handed "regulator" approach apparently being shown by GLBSE.  I have offered (elsewhere) to run a bond register to facilitate and track user trades for free if GLBSE continues their ridiculous posturing and choses not to register one of the largest and more respectable potential issues we have seen for some time.

Well, it is not really an IPO if it is not publicly available, but the TOS should have stated that to begin with.  I am surprised the TOS says that an asset can only be bought and sold through the exchange.  Of course, many companies do sell shares to people through their investor relations programs.

Introducing constraints to the economy only serves to limit what can be economical.
