I've never used NXT before this whole SuperNET thing and I must admit, I'm very impressed with both the tech and the community.  I was surprised to find out that NXT is relatively new too (came out last November, I think?).  It's definitely something special.

Pretty sure no one owns more than 50 million.
http://charts.nxtcrypto.org/cDistribution.aspx for distribution. There's a better one somewhere that shows top 100/1000 accounts, but I can't find it for some reason.
Distribution is just one of those things with NXT. It's actually kind of crazy, since none of the big stakeholders can sell and make millions without far greater adoption anyway. They just create selling pressure that keeps the price down, so if you believe the tech is going somewhere, you can still get in cheaply now.

Edit: distribution is improving, but it's hard to tell. Look at SuperNET: tens of millions of NXT in the same account. But some belonged to whales whose accounts are now smaller. This is why SuperNET and other successful assets are critically important to the success of the whole NXT ecosystem.

You won't see a transaction for the NXT coming in, by the way, if that is what you are looking for.

Thanks, everyone for your answers. ^This is what threw me. My mind could not comprehend the balance increasing without a something showing in the transaction log. Cool

Hey CECVW! Good to see you back.
MGW is the Multigateway, a distributed (near trustless) crypto trading exchange.
You send you coins to the address you're given in the MGW plug in for NXT wallet. It's exchanged for tokens (mgwBTC = BTC tokens, mgwBTCD = BTCD tokens) which you can then trade against NXT. You can then withdraw your tokens, so they are converted back to crypto and sent to their native wallets.

Edit: MGW is also the MGW asset. You can buy shares in this and get paid a proportion of transaction fees. Not sure how the maths adds up or what volumes make that an attractive investment, though.

Hi Cassius good to see you too!! How is aunty Mary doing?

Did you buy any of these coins? I have 2500 nxt to spare and I don't know which coin to buy, I have already btcd and I bought It when it was $0.4, any other coins you think I should invest with a great future or likely to join SuperNet?

Anyway say hello to aunty Mary on my behalf, I hope she is doing better from her Asteroid hyalosis

Got an uncle with macular degeneration but no aunt Mary with hyalosis.
If the NXT is burning a hole in your wallet I've heard something interesting might be announced later for BBR. Otherwise, there are so many announcements that it might be wise to keep some in reserve.

If you are buying mgwBTC, mgwBTCD, mgwLTC you are actually buying BTC, BTCD, LTC. They are no different than the actual coins wrt to value. They are just held by the multigateway (mgw) wallets which are all multi-signature addresses. You can also deposit/withdraw using the mgw to/from your BTC, BTCD, LTC (I don't think LTC, Doge, Via are up and running yet).

mgw is an asset and I believe it gets dividends from the multigateway fees. So, if you want to invest in the mgw then buy that asset.

Just be aware the mgw service is currently in flux, james is working on trying to get the system transferred over to the production servers that three separate entities will control, each controlling one server.

Yeah, superNET is already and will definitely be a good thing for NXT distribution. NXT whales will have to provide the liquidity for all the NXT that has to be traded constantly for superNET to run smoothly.

back in January BTC was $1000, now is almost $300, if we carry on like this soon BTC will be $100. This is my theory, BTC will disappear and replace by  NXT, BTCD and SuperNetwork and all the coins in supernetwork, What do you think?

i don't think BTC will fail, though it might not dominate in the future. too much infrastructure has been built around it. its just a price drop. if you're a speculator, then you might be worried. if you are just interested in BTC as a tech, then nothing has changed.

speculators are just worried about BTC centralization

I tried depositing to a secureae account and to a NXT wallet. I tried straight up buying a few NXT then depositing and still nothing. I even tried mixing and matching the NXT ID and public address...

Whose idea was it to make this so complicated? Every single altcoin is 100% straightforward, but NXT decides to muddy the water and mess up a good thing.

what is wrong with nxt

The price is most likely falling following bitcoin's example. Nothing to worry about.
