I believe the nav buy walls will be 0.0088 so I don't think any whales will be cashing out at that price.

If I was a whale with 50m NXT, I'd take the 10-15% hit for the chance of cashing some out that way without crashing the price. Not many times someone hands you that opportunity.
Ultimately, I guess it's not a disaster, but it does reduce SuperNET's BTC holdings and skew the balance more towards NXT.
It's an interesting dynamic to add to the picture of trading NXT assets against BTC: anything with decent liquidity offers a good way to diversify/exchange in what is otherwise a relatively thinly-traded market.

The whale could just post a BID below the real NAV (including assets), and wait for the market to eat all those funds. This solution would be much better for him, as he knows, that in this way, he doesn't influence any NXT price at all (good for his other NXT holdings).

dont worry, there is nothing you have to do. This is just an open process so that SuperNET assetholders know how the funds are being spent. Of course if the community feels any spending request is not within the pre-existing spending authority, we could hold an assetholder vote to approve it. There is an Authorization Committee of 7 (4 must authorize) that has the responsibility to make sure the Spending Request is proper.

However, to do that for every standard decision would be quite cumbersome and inefficient. https://nxtforum.org/index.php?topic=5407.msg107042#msg107042 has the official authorization thread. Basically this is giving an insider's view of the "corporate" spending process that SuperNET uses.

Ads mostly. But also they have a very big audience, as such they can take on very profitable partnerships. Like blockchaininfo does with BTCjam(lending) or mixing services. BCI is a highly profitable firm with a high valuation.

maximizing short term revenue is not the optimum way to maximize long term revenues

the tried and proven method is to offer low/no fees during the rapid customer acquisition phase and build a loyal and large audience. Then gradually put in monetization that is not painful or really noticed by the users.

I would rather have 500,000 happy users and no revenues than 50,000 users and ten cents revenue per month after the first 6 months.

The reason is that a penny per user monetization will be much easier to do without annoying and losing users than 10 cents per user monetization. with controlled experimentation, the monetization can be gradually increased, always making sure it is not affecting retention rates. Also, the bigger audience is simply a lot more valuable per user as there will be large enough subsets that can benefit from targeted ads. The more targeted the ads, the more effective and the less annoying, so more effective by far.

I will be prioritizing userbase growth in these early days rather than maximization of monetization per user.

For those that dont know of the details, coinevolve entered a revshare agreement with SuperNET. SuperNET was essentially selling advertising services to coinevolve and this was not any investment. I did not mention any coinevolve asset and I specifically said this was an advertising deal and I was not making a specific recommendation for coinevolve assets.

Chris continually was doing things and apologizing for making "rookie" mistakes. I tried to help by offering advice, which he agreed to follow, but never did.

After disappearing for a few days, he resurfaced saying he was a victim of a theft by one of his coworkers. To date, there has been no documentation of any such incident.

In spite of my cautions and lack of endorsement, people went out of their way to buy coinevolve assets. As an advertising vendor SuperNET cannot do a due diligence on every single revshare partner. However, since just my mentioning anything seems to make it go up, I have decided to not mention any future revshare advertising deals. This will be done by a separate person.

Also, PLEASE beware of false assets, unproven issuers and if I am not making a specific recommendation, there is usually a reason. If you want to copy my market moves, there are things like JLH, sharkfund0 and SuperNET/UNITY. If you are going outside the recommended paths, then you need to make sure to do your homework and know the risks you are taking. Also, do not put much weight on having real world identity. The two largest scams in NXT have been by people with known real world identities. This seems to lull people into false sense of security.

Whales have the ability to take some losses and turn them into large gains. They can drag the price down significantly and make many small gains that will more than make up the loss. There's only so much profit to be gained without some significant mass adoption which organically raised demand.

I'm likely explaining this horribly so maybe someone can better explain.
