What a landslide today on the S5 hash, went as low as .00069 and been trading around 75-77 all week. Think its due to the S7 coming online or the next diff increase tomorrow which looks tame at 2-3%, lower then the last 2 increases. Sold most of my hash but thinking of getting back in at the 69-70 level and see where it goes over the next several days. But just trying to better understand todays slide and what the catalyst was. Any feedback from users that have been trading hash for a while would be appreciated.

Thanks,

I thought it would bottom at ~.00075, but guess not - I was buying still at .00077. My hope is that the S7s will bring up total pool hash and S5 will be the choice of hash power when people see how much S7 costs...for now, I hold.

I first got in at 75/76, sold it all at 76. Broke even. Then started buying again at 70 and more at 69, if it keeps dropping I'll keep buying down to 65. Then hold, I think the value with a cost basis of under 70 is there for a while.

Thanks for your thoughts

So whats up with Bitmain, they listed Batch 2 and Batch 3 of the S7 and Batch 1 has not shipped yet. Also, Batch 3 is $200 bucks cheaper then batch 1. Nothing like feeling screwed! They will all probably ship around same time and if you buy Batch 3 its $200 less. Thats not right. Also Batch 2 has less hash with same amount of chips? I don't get that unless its unlocked at the factory or maybe batch 1 and 3 is overclocked....

Anyone have any insight?

From my perspective, they still hold it for themselves because they do not added S7 on the market. Let's see how long they will "hold". They cannot announce S7 without added that on the market.

1923.0 USD is too expensive for me to try and previewing S7.

I have heard S7 will added on the market on first October, or maybe that is just a rumour.

"The fist pre-sale round will be deployed before 11:59PM on October 10th 2015 beijing time."

It's on their shop page

Hi, skuser. Thanks for your info. We will see that on October 10th.

I hope you can update the calculation for S7 too on your websites.

Sure, as soon as the markets open. Right now there is no way to calculate S7 ROI as there is no market price available Wink

is any body try tomake WD today?
why my WD ged auditing
i WD around 3.78 BTC, not exceed 10BTC also im not request more than 3 request within 24 hours? my last wd is yesterday with only 0.02
did they already broken your own rule?
heres the link proof http://forum.bitmain.com/bbs/topics/2183
no answer from ticket support also in forum

edit: over 5 hours still in auditing
beware for potential fraud

I've had the same issue. I sent them a ticket and they explained that all WDs over 1BTC needs manual approval. If that is true I don't know, I done fast WDs after that over 1BTC, but that what they said.

After my ticket I never had any problems, btw.

If this is the first time you have withdrawn a large amount of bitcoins from hashnest. They may put this down to "unusual activity" which, for them to keep oup their trust, so they may check if the payout is legitimate and make an inormed dicision on the information you have provided.

If this is not the first time and you do this often, it could mean that the hashnest service are "flagging up" random payouts and ensuring that they are legit before releasing the bitcoins to you!

It's National Golden Week in China until the 9th.  I presume any withdrawals that happen before the end of the holiday will be slow, if not held up completely.  Everything will sort, but we may have to be more patient than we like this week.

Bitmain just now deleted a thread in its forum where a user was calling hashnest a scam. in this thread we came to the conclusion that hashnests "luck" is too low and there must be some reason for that. maybe they claim to have more hashrate than they actually do have.

not the point.

Or maybe it was off topic and not pertinent to the discussion/untrue.  Can you share the hard facts that were brought forth in that thread that specifically pertain to them being a scam?  This starts up every couple of weeks about how it is impossible to have as bad as luck as they do, but no one ever presents hard facts, and they only seem to complain in the downtrends, but are perfectly happy to accept the times where luck is above 100%.

It surely wasnt off topic, it was just one of those "accusation of scam" threads we already had a lot of. They deleted the whole thread not just one post.

Someone claimed blocks are being dropped (something with SVP settings.... Huh) - i did not understand his point entirely - and that hashnest should switch from PPLNS to PPS to make the game fair again.

Then someone else suspected hashnest to claim more hashrate in its pool (antpool) than they actually have in running machines. There have been many more posts, the thread maybe had 25 posts.

At last I posted an idea into the thread where I expressed the thought that maybe at the time in january when the S2 miners became unprofitable for the first time the following happend: BITMAIN_Rob said hashnest would power off the S2 machines as long as they are in a unprofitable region (lets say around 90-110%) and pay the users the PPS earnings no matter what - out of their own pockets. The machines have been turned off, thats sure. But i think they never have been turned on again. In order to find a fair calculation for the earnings of S2 and umisoo they had to add the missing hashrate to the overall pool hashrate as "virtual hashes" so that everyone gets his fair share. But now the machines are "redeemed" and shipped away or destroyed - whatever - but that added virtual amount of hashrate is still sitting there in antpool. They never deleted it. It would add up to - my guess - from 6 to 10 PH. Which the pool actually doesnt have.
That would explain why antpool delivers 16% of all new blocks (https://blockchain.info/pools) and NOT 18.5% as they should. They claim to have 84 PH but i think the real hasrate is 73 PH give or take.

Dont get me wrong - that was just some idea of mine out of the blue. My real point is that they deleted this relatively harmless thread and censored it away the chinese way- or was it not? Did we hit something?

over the last six months antpool hashrate fluctuated a lot and worldwide hashrate too, you cant take such a long period as evidence for either side. but of course a too short period like the one i posted ( 4 days) also says nothing.
Its hard to prove anything on any side. And i am not an accusor of scam, i have some doubts here and there (10 hour blocks at 80 PH Huh - how probable is that? ) but overall i am relativly satisfied. It just makes me angry that user posts are deleted without any comment.

Sure, be irritated but don't try to indicate conclusions from 4 days of data. It makes you look silly, while you might have a valid point. It's not very probable to see few or no blocks at 80PH for 10h but long-term it's not impossible, and really long-term you will see it happen.

Obviously quite possible. Especially since there are 3 pools that are larger than Antpool.

If this person is unsure. They could always check some information collected by sites such as: blockchain.info or even antpool.com. (NOTE: block sources on blockchain.info is sometimes deemed as not being reliable!)

Just curious, market rate once S7 is released, should be around .00144 BTC per GH?  Given cost of Miner and PSU?

Well if you buy from stock its .00162 new, I don't think people that paid 162 will be selling any hash when it starts trading. Maybe even go up to 170'ish. After a few weeks, some may start selling around the 140-150 level once they have made some return on the units mining for them. I think the better deal is the s5 in the .0007 price, I'm expecting the s5 prince to go up to 75-80 once the s7 is released since the s5 is 1/2 as efficient then it should trade around 1/2 the s5 price in the short term.

market price will  follow shop price until  people figure out what the shelf life of the machine will be. its way too early to tell.
