Gah:
Price: 1450 USD ( 3.357 BTC ) Up Coming
So now we know, $1,450 for 1 TH/s. Still no dimensions, exact power usage, or dates yet. That's 0.0003981468 BTC/GH higher than the S3+ Batch #9. As an example, compared to an S3+, that means you're paying an additional 0.18 BTC to have higher density and hopefully at this price, an integrated PSU. Let's compare 3 S3+s running on an eVGA 1300 bought off NewEgg today to an S4:
S3+ x3 = 1.74 BTC eVGA 1300 = $170 USD (after rebate, let's be generous) or ~0.3935 BTC Total spent: 2.133 BTC for 1.359 TH/s, or 1.569 BTC/TH.
S4 = 3.357 BTC Total spent: 3.357 BTC for 2.0 TH/s (hopefully!), or 1.6785 BTC/TH.
At this point, you're paying an extra 0.1095 BTC/TH for the added density, ease of install, and goodness I hope a lower power draw!
The S3 draws 0.78J/GH: an exercise for someone with more time than myself, how much more efficient than the equivalent hashrate of S3s does the S4 have to achieve to make it more profitable to operate in the long run than an S3?
For instance, I pay $0.08 USD/kWh. In my experience 3xS3s draw right around 1.020 kWh, so $1.96/day I think, right? So I spend about $1.44 (0.0033 BTC) per TH/day running S3s. So let's say I want my S4 to be cheaper to run after 16 weeks, what would its power draw have to be, to beat running S3s? The S3s will spend 0.373 BTC in power during those 16 weeks, so the S4 must only draw 0.2638 BTC per TH. I guess I can do a back-of-the-napkin on this, and say that to be more cost effective after 16 weeks, the S4 must be 30% more efficient I think. Which puts my target at 0.55J/GH.
How does that sound? If the S4 is higher than 0.55J/GH, then its only "winning feature" is density, it woul otherwise lose on all other fronts. If it's lower than 0.55J/GH, then after X weeks, it'll be cheaper overall due to a lower operating cost.

LMFAO!!! We waited for the S4 price first "this week" then "this week" and when it arrives its a stark raving bonkers one!
There were those on this forum that said 2 BTC would be at the edge of a sane price for the S4, and we're looking at over 3 BTC?
Sorry Bitmain but at that cost + import duty etc. this is NEVER going to give ANY ROI!
And they only added the price and not the specs for it?
Anyone parting with 3.357 BTC for a unit we have no idea of the specs? - Looks like the price is set to fluctuate with BTC price as the price is now 3.364 BTC
And no S3+ batch 10 price or delivery date?
Anyone else smell that? I'm not sure if its BS I smell or BA?
ROFL, you're better off buying BTC with fiat and save your electric

Power draw please...
1.357 BTC coupons please! Also, did anyone else notice that the login page is no-longer the wonky hand-built Captcha login, but an actual "passport.bitmain.com" login now, with a broken SSL cert? Is this part of why it was down, or some part of hashnet integration? I've never used hashnet, so I'm unfamiliar with what it'd look like.

That price is completely crack-headed, BitMain. What the hell are you smoking over there? No one is going to pay that.
btw, what's up with this self-signed cert on portal.bitmaintech.com?

So I send my coin out in 1 hour. >>>>>>>>>>>> not yet possible but optimistic it comes in 5 days>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> not yet possible but optimistic Net work is rock steady at 10% diff for nex year>>> maybe? coins jump up from current 430 to 450 usd>>>>>> maybe? uses .45 watts a gh >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> maybe ? it continues working trouble free from day one>>>> maybe? 10 cents a K-WATT FOR POWER>>>>>>>>>>>>> some of us can do this or better all of the above happen and you lose what!!! that is correct your loss is about 300 bucks. my numbers are optimistic . So the above price of 1450 means you need power under 6 cents to stand a shot

You are too optimistic I like your assumptions especially that 10% Bitcoin Diff. increase.

ANTMINER S4 -B1 Price: 1450 USD 2TH/s. is not bad at all. At the beginning of October For comparison SpondooliesTech SP20 price and shipping cost. $1,190.00+$160 (EU) +$119 (US) second half of October and no PSU 1,7TH/s
I'll buy S4. I sold half of my antminers S2 for 1.5 BTC a piece.

Crap, I so wanted so start mining with a s4... seems there is no hardware that makes sense now I think the vendors got together and decided at this point it was best to push the small guys out so that they could develop their cloud mining operations .

I suspect they will use the same chassis that the S2 was in… No reason to reinvent the wheel, it would have added to their design costs..

Fairly certain that those are all S2 they tell you they are s-2's in reality the chances are more likely they are a mix of s-2's and s-4's. Same case same fans.
