Hi all,
Like TooQik, long time lurker, first time poster... thought I'd add my experiences/questions to the community.
Right before the switch at block 830,000 I sent half of my coins (55,000) to another wallet on a different computer that runs 24/7. The other ~56,000 stayed on my old laptop in the roof that monitors my PV output, and is also on 24/7.
Since block 835,000 on my old laptop, the overview page shows the 56,000 as 'Spendable' with zero coins staking, though the icon in the lower-right shows 'In sync and staking...' when hovered over. This laptop I believe is an old Core 2 Duo running at 1.8GHz, and it certainly freezes up regularly while the wallet 'does it's thing'.
On the other computer, the 55,000 coins have generated an orphaned 6.32 coins, and a genuine 5.02 coins. The overview page shows all 55,005.02 coins staking, none in spendable, with 'In sync, not staking, earning Stake-time'.
I understand the 'pot luck' aspect of staking (and mining, that's where most of my coins came from), but I'm wondering if higher coin-age is a factor in staking? The
YOUNGEST of the coins on my old laptop (56,000 balance) is from 19th of August 2014, whereas the
oldest ones on the other computer are from 21st of September 2015.
Happy for the answer to be 'dumb luck', just thought I'd add my experience in case it helps!
By the way: great community, great thinkers, great work Steve, hope you enjoyed the rock climbing! And thanks TooQik for introducing me to SLR...
