For those interested. A team active on Telegram has gotten solarcoin up and running raspberrypi which is very cool. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raspberry_Pi That means a solarcoin node for $35 that could be posting live solar production data and or earning interest while maintaining the chain with POST is quite cool. Obviously 1gb storage limitation is an issue so either enhanced storage or a version using checkpoints might be considered as solutions for full node. well done to the team of community members. We are waiting for a summary and write up from Luke and team here is what is up on steem: https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@jza/build-a-headless-solarcoin-node-on-raspberry-pi

Solarcoin (§ SLR) are like airmiles. Each 1 Mhw generated gets you §1 free. Solarcoins can purchase what others will trade: USD,BTC, Soy candles..etc.

The real IOT case in blockchain field. We need to do the math, but this could likely make the Solarcoin blockchain 100,000X more efficient than bitcoin at similar scale 4-5m users. Earlier estimates were about 200-300x more efficient. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1QzIA5Nd3pVRGn2c48Oc_dqpImrOfYlwp74UzHXjArdE/edit#gid=1927231694

The solarcoin is growing under the rader over two years.
I see the great potential to grow solar generator field from this coin.
And If I live in EU. I could be attending the conferences which the devs team are speaking at.

I was told NO. Someone is probably just prejudice against the USA cuz we elected Trump. Trump is going to make SolarCoin great again!!! Actually, I own 20-30 alts and have never heard of SLR until I read the Quartz article... That's amazing because it's such a great, real world application of blockchain and cryptocurrency... tied in with 100,000 physical meters. http://qz.com/843404/smappees-solarcoin-scheme-firms-are-testing-blockchain-tech-with-energy-generation/The wallet 2.1.8 wallet downloaded the chain and is working perfectly... I'm definitely on board.

Close the application, and restart. If that doesn't work, rescan your wallet. It's still a little cumbersome, but on the most part it's working well. Also check that you're running 2.1.8. The installer is a little funky for some reason it won't install it like it says if there's already a copy of 2.1.7 (2.1.7.1). You may have to delete the files in the solarcoin program folder, then reinstall. And of course make sure you backup, or have backups of your wallet before any update.

I've closed it and restarted, even deleted the program twice and re-loaded, but didn't help. .... finally I manually downloaded the blockchain and that worked to sync it.

A couple of us have other Pis synced over the million block mark, so hopefully we will be testing transactions and staking in a few days.

It is good practice according to ROKOS staking rules to store your blockchain on removable USB keys rather than on the SD card that has the OS running on it. So these USB keys now have storage over 64GB. Currently the SLR blockchain is around 800MB to 1GB and growing steadily. Thanks, -lfloorwalker

Thanks, -lfloorwalker Bitcoin's blockchain is over 60 GB now, and it took this long with heavy use. Though you can plug USB hard drives into the pi also, and I'm assuming you can set up a network disk as well? Something I've been considering trying.
