The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

Was on nicehash for a long time.
Then tried f2pool and antpool pps.
I have a pretty good idea what the payouts are from those pools.
I'm kano all the way now with 130th. Just moved.
Getting at least the same payout as the pps pools on kano after the ramp up.
Plus this pool has a forum, there are devs to chat with and they care about their miners.
Main plus is the stability. The up and down action of other pools wreaks havoc on my miners, psu's and remote switch pdu's.
When kano goes down it is mostly for administration duties/patches.
Mining part is VERY smooth on kano.
Nice to know when admin tasks are being performed. Otherwise you are just in the dark.

10 days is nowhere near a long enough sample size to make any determinations.  I've been running a test for an entire year on p2pool - comparing standard p2pool payouts to OgNasty's/Nonnakip's NastyPoP implementation.  That's a far better sample size Smiley.  Take a look at kano's pool vs some of the others over the past year and you'll get an idea of how it fares.

Yup-I know it takes more time to have the stats work in one's favour. (  For example, when you look at ckpoolmonitor.zachmonroe.com , the current 30 day average here is 0.00816446. Kano's long term average is the highest of any pool. So, I think a lot come here expecting to immediately do better than on another pool. However, after say 5 days, if they aren't seeing the same 5 day average ( ex: 0.00921269 by end of yesterday on ckpoolmonitor), they don't understand and don't say anything. They simply go to another pool. )

Anyway, I have seen your numbers. Also, I have followed many of you on a plethora of forums and have come to trust certain guys who have switched here in the last few weeks. So, I'm going to stay here a lot longer than i usually do when checking out a new pool

Kano has never hidden anything.  Over the lifetime of the pool, luck is over 100%...so even when there's bad times, the good times make up for it.  I think I've found the pool I'll settle with.  My S7's seem to like it here.

Yup- saw about your hashing power on NiceHash. NiceHash was always the "standard bearer" for me too.  I know that your testimonial is reliable. Been following you for a while now. you're one of the guys I trust. When I saw you pointed all your rigs here too, I said to myself: "there goes another of the guys I trust pointing everything here. It has to be right" Wink

Argh!  S7 was delivered to my house a few minutes ago...wish my wife knew how to hook these things up.  Missing out on 5 hours of the hash until I can get home and configure it!

5,249.97THs Shocked
Slush goes down and Kano starts growing up!
Just switched over my small rigs last Friday from there Cool

Thanks for pointing your rigs here.  The more the merrier!  Spread the word to any friends you have.  Would be appreciated very much.

Happy Mining.

Thanks for the PM guys. I'm still trying to make my decision. I created a account awhile ago when I wasn't happy with slush and My profits were bad.  I'll think about this some more. The only concern for me is the restarts you guys keep doing as some of my miners are in locations where going offline could be bothersome as the beeping would interfere with people working. If I do come over I would slowly bring over my 20th. As I still have bills to pay.

Thank you kindly for considering pointing your rigs here.  Even if it's one at a time over the course of time.  Every rig adds up over time.  Much appreciated.  You're welcome to point them here any time, Sir.

Happy Minning.

I was on nicehash in the s3 days. Guy I bought one from turned me on to nicehash.
When I switched over to s5's nicehash would take at least one miner out once a day. Would have to power cycle.
Rental switching. I'm pretty sure I lost two hash boards because of it. They just stopped working, little red light went out forever.
I have seen the same behavior with s7's but not as much. s7 is a very solid machine.
However s7 does not like the up and down action. It also affects psu's and pdu's, they stop functioning as well. Don't like having to go to the datacenter for a hands on session.
But rather a hands on than an RMA.

Exactly. The main and the most important thing - this is open source solution.  I do not know ANY other quite large open-source pool. I mean from Top 10 statistics but not some small pool owners with MPOS or UNOMP for example.  We do not know what software used at Slush, F2Pool, Antpool, BTCC and we can estimate its decency based on Payouts only.

Edit: P2POOL is another open source solution for sure, and this is great concept. But unfortunately it has some design and performance flaws (IMHO) and it is not perfect only for this reason. Current hashrate is also not the best with lighting fast growing difficulty.

Thanks for the PN! My miners are still connected to Antpool ATM, but I am really thinking about pointing them towards Kano Smiley

Thanks for your consideration, Captain.  You're welcome to point them here of course.  Yes, it takes about 4 days at present to ramp up to full payment but it may turn out to be more profitable for you and to the network to point them over here.  I don't want to pressure you.  Everyone has their own particular situation.  Your consideration is much appreciated.

Happy Mining.

Thanks for the pm. Id like to say you did a fine job explaining it.. I made the switch a cpl days ago now.. Got a good feeling about this pool.  And i feel the pool donation isnt just going to fast cars and hookers Wink(although if it was that's alright by me you guys spend more than enough time working here and on your pool enhancements)  By the looks of this thread and others the ops of this pool are much more community oriented..Actually looking out for us little miners:).. When your small like most of us are every block counts!!!

Big thanks for all you guys do and have done for the community.

Best Regards
d57heinz

Sure, you're welcome.

I do need to edit something I said but it's a good edit.  I said in the PM it would take about 5 days to ramp up to full payment.  At current average hash rate of the pool, it would take approximately 4 days I believe.  If I am wrong, someone please correct me.

Kano said approx 100 hours, I had inquired.
100 hours to ramp down also, so you still get paid for blocks for four days after you disconnect. Takes a bit of some relaxation techniques.

And one of the better reasons for sticking with kano is that it's NOT a Chinese pool!

Weather a pool is Chinese or not is irrelevant tbh. Like Bitcoin, the internet is global & does not recognize countries or borders. What is important is weather a pool is SPV mining or not. Any SPV pool in any country should be avoided  Wink

Well said...  That's why I mentioned in my PM's to others to give it a try for AT LEAST 2 weeks (14 days).  However, that may not be long enough for them to see it's better than other pools.  A month or longer for sure.

Some are in a situation where they feel they cannot wait long during a slow time here at the pool.  It's understandable...  In any case, if one feels they have to leave for whatever reason, I want them to know they are welcome to come back any time.
