I just noticed on the pool stats page there was this icon next to CKPool in the top left. I'm guessing these are colour codes to indicate some kind of status (as there is also a red one But any ideas to what they are indicating? And was there some kind of blip about 5mins ago?

They represent ckdb's state vs ckpool.
The pool runs in 2 very definite parts, and ckdb reports the state of it's connection with ckpool, using the colours up the top left.

Explained here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=789369.msg10262255;topicseen#msg10262255
and here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=789369.msg10765425;topicseen#msg10765425

Thanks for satisfying my curiosity Grin

Congrats to all the new and old miners who have come home.
Thanks to the block finders.

A special thanks to Kano for running such a fantastic pool and to both CK and Kano for writing the best damn pool and db software period.

This has been a fantastic past couple of weeks. This shows the culmination of hard work (and a touch of luck I'm sure.)
Nothing runs this well without the right intentions, and the fantastic productivity speaks volumes.

I must have a root canal tomorrow, but today is going to be chicken, chicken, and more chicken.
Please do your share and sacrifice a chicken today. You cannot just throw it away, you must broil, bake, fry, or however you prefer, but it keeps the KANO.IS pool Gods very happy and goes very well with mashed potatoes and don't forget to eat your veggies. You'll need your strength to count all your coin.  Wink

Transaction fees go to the pools and the pools decide to pay them to the miners. Anything else, including off-chain solutions are stealing and not the way Bitcoin was intended to function.
Make the block size set by the pool. Pool = miners and they get the choice.

will test out the pool for couple of days. seems to be running good.

kano, i tried 2fa but it said invalid code Huh

i want to mine with 2 of my dc's but i want payouts to be sent to 2 different btc add's. can that be done under 1 account like antpool ? or for the time being i have to register 2 accts ? atm, i figured out is to register 1 account & the other just to use a btc add ?

what's the avg payout per th/s after fees ?

bringing small support of roughly 80 th/s. small but better than nothing. looking fwd to grow soon.

Well it's going down as the pool hashrate increases and of course depends on whether or not you have been mining the full 5n and what your hashrate for that 5n has been.  But as of the last block for me it was 0.00735736 BTC/Th.  I have a stable hashrate for the full 5n.

...
And to think, I almost made a pit stop on ck's pool before switching over from slush. Was thinking about going at it for 24 hours or so. It's all good though, I'm happy to have found a block for the pool, and I wouldn't necessarily have found one on ck's pool. (right?)
Yep, a block found in the time frame of one work item has, currently, a 1 in 79billion/X chance of producing a block during that time frame with any other work item any where else.

Of course you could have found many more on solo or none.
Yep it's random with a bit of poisson distributed luck thrown in Smiley

tl;dr;
X ~= hashrate * Y / 2^32;
Here Y <= 30

Gracias.  Smiley

http://ckpoolmonitor.zachmonroe.com/

Keep in mind that chart assumes you have already reached 5Nd at that point. It is also a very rough estimation.

Here are some of my rewards vs what that chart shows:

As you can see the actual varies substantially. If the pool hash rate was more consistent it would be more accurate.

Just remember your payouts will be much lower until you have been mining for the full 5Nd (currently around 5 days).
And when (if  Wink ) you leave you will keep getting paid for blocks after you leave, as long as the shares you submitted are within the 5Nd window.

PM me if you wish to divide your payout.
PM me the account name, and I can set a >1 payout address limit (e.g. of 2 addresses)
As is current, everyone other than one large account has a limit of 1 address.

Then in the "percent" web interface that will suddenly appear Smiley, you set an extra address and the payout ratio of the 2 addresses.
Edit: default will of course be a 50/50 payout
Yeah 80THs is fine for a 2 payout division.

Yes the ramp up is simply a side effect of the variance reduction.
The https://kano.is/index.php?k=payout page explains the details but I guess the simplest way to understand it is:

"Your shares (currently) take about 6 days to be paid"

You aren't actually being held back payment of the ramp until you leave, it's simply that the last 5Nd shares you submit will continue to be rewarded by any blocks found in the 5Nd shares sent to the pool at that time.

The number of days = how long the pool takes to get 5Nd shares.
Each reward on the rewards page shows "N Range" and the current one I'm doing at the moment is "139hr 20m 0s" or 5.8days

As the pool hash rate rises, that number will, of course, go down, but the "N Range" time will also increase with each network diff change increase.

i'll stay for a week & see how it goes & wait for things to ramp up.

i'm sure it will improve.

As it says on the web page, what matters is the accuracy of the time on your device.

You can actually see on every web if there is a problem:
Check the time on the web page in the bottom left tiny text - that will show you the time on the server - which will be correct ignoring the delay for the web page to be sent to you.
Your timezone doesn't matter, but if you look at the tiny text on the bottom right, that's what time your browser thinks it is.
They should have almost exactly the same MM:SS on the end.
(however if you are in a timezone with a 30minute offset, then the MM will differ by 30 minutes also)

If the time in your device is different by more than a couple of seconds, that's the problem.
The 2fa time limit value used is 30s.

I have thought about this since I implemented it and I may give people the option to increase that 30s accuracy in the future maybe up to a few minutes.
It also depends on if the apps can be told larger numbers for the 30s without having to manually intervene in the settings.
... added to my long TODO list Smiley

That explains it, was wondering who would be sending me .00333647 BTC. Pointed my 23+ TH to kano about 2 hours before the last block was hit. Next payment should be much better, right? Depending we find blocks?
