how come my avg share went down and does it affect my pay?

4pmzn origami   2015-06-05 08:37:39+00   49m 1s   809.600k   0   1.18THs   920   880.00

from earlier on its all 1042s and from later till now its only 880.00

the s5 is running at the same speed it has been with no connection loss.

The average share doesn't matter.
You'll see that when it is higher, you have fewer shares, when it is lower, you have more shares.
Your payout is determined by your number of Diff1 Shares vs the Pool's Diff1 shares in the payout.

However, since a shift has a somewhat random length, counting the shares in a shift doesn't, of course, show consistency.
So I also add in there your average hash rate based on the Your (Diff1) Shares submitted (809,600) and the Length (time) to submit them (49m 1s) and come up with, in the first line case, 1.18THs - Avg Hs
That's the number that should stay around your average hash rate and is also the same number on the Shift Graph.
The shift page also shows your (Rejected) Inv(alid) Diff, so those 2 added together will equal all the shares you submitted to the shift that could be understood (if a miner sends a completely invalid share that we can't interpret it wont have a Diff value so wont be included - but they are usually rare)

The pool starts at 1042 when you connect.
It will usually adjust it to be around 18 SPM (shares per minute) - to try to keep your pool I/O from being too high or to low.
Also if you have multiple devices mining, then the Avg will of course depend on all devices and if they adjust down/up and how long they take to adjust.

Aside: for small devices below 54GHs it wont go below 42

Looks like what miners I had connected are still mining but rented one and tried to point another one there and they don't connect. I am sure we will have some news soon.

DNS is dead at the moment.
Trying to get it back up again.

Currently stratum.kano.is should be 104.194.28.194
But the DNS server seems to have been taken out.
If you have no failover and want to get back on right now, you can mine to stratum+tcp://104.194.28.194:3333
That's just a temporary fix until the server people get back to me about the DNS server (the pool server is ok)

All of my rigs are churning away, just can't get to the web, no biggie.

Kano, I'd recommend you look at AWS (amazon web services) for your DNS.  I host like 4 zones with Route 53 and I think it costs me like .55 usd a month or something ridiculously low.

I've setup 3 more DNS servers while waiting and waiting and waiting ...
They all need reverse DNS setup to use as a DNS server ... so I'm also waiting on the providers to do that (1 is done so far ... still waiting on the other 2)
Once 2 of them have rDNS I can move the DNS to that pair as a work around.
Unfortunately the main DNS is still dead and it would appear they don't have 24/7 dedicated server support at CrownCloud ... which is my main (dead) DNS server Sad

Yeah the main DNS server is still being poked and prodded - seems there was some sort of hardware failure but the disks are raid1 so I can't imagine it was a disk failure that took it down.
As I mentioned before if you want to keep mining until it's fixed use stratum+tcp://104.194.28.194:3333
That will of course work after it's fixed, but using the IP long term is inadvisable since if I ever change it, your miner wont know.
Once this is all sorted out I'll add in 2 more DNS servers - that are already running but the domain registry web wont let me switch to them.
The pool is fine, just the DNS is ... still dead.

Thank you for the update Kano.
You did mention stratum+tcp://104.194.28.194:3333 a few posts back, just noticed. I'll switched to this for now.

DNS is back up and running OK again about an hour ago.
And just to cheer everyone up, we just found another block ... under 100% Smiley
