What a night-- I am finally back up on the pool!
The Internet went down around 4:10 and didn't come back up for a couple hours. When it came back up I found one of my SP20s completely unresponsive. SD recovery couldn't fix it, so I ended up making a SD boot which brought it back to life.
Anyway, I'm glad to be back. Maybe my injured miner will find the next block for us (unlikely, I know)!

FYI - if anyone was wondering, bitcoins were updated to 0.10.1 back on 9-May All blocks we generate have been v3 since then.
What does that mean? BIP66 will come into effect soon and pools mining block headers before v3 will fork. (or in simplistic terms, if the pool isn't mining v3 blocks, no one will get any bitcoins when BIP66 activates) So do I or we need to do anything? Not when mining to kano.is Thanks for staying ahead of the curve. block found That big chunk of green is bound to get some red in it pretty soon, here's the first.

Man the variance is killing this pool. But it seems to be everywhere.
Variance? Our variance is really good for the last ... well ... all stat ranges on the blocks page Easiest to just post it - even with the new (not very high) 230% block, it's pretty exceptional. Description Diff% Mean% CDF[Erl] Luck% Last 5 Blocks 68.68% 67.26% 0.2490 148.68% Last 10 Blocks 60.99% 60.25% 0.0856 165.99% Last 25 Blocks 101.28% 101.10% 0.5484 98.91% Last 50 Blocks 106.72% 106.33% 0.6862 94.05% Last 100 Blocks 108.41% 108.35% 0.8012 92.29% All - Last 250 Blocks 98.77% 98.01% 0.3835 102.03%
The last 10 blocks, which is more than 2 weeks, is 166% luck ...

Just thought I'd post an update in case anyone was wondering about it. I've always used 1xxxx addresses (or course) for the block coinbase as you can see looking at the blocks we find. This was the only part of the code, somewhat related to the 3xxxx addresses that -ck has made a change for in his custom solo code. Thus kano.is was unaffected by it in any way. The payouts I do, have had 3xxxx addresses in them since the very first block payout, and there's been no problems reported there either. Edit: this is in relation to: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=763510.msg11621884#msg11621884

Just an FYI: Not sure if anyone is aware of this...we MAY be picking up some more hashpower. BTCGuild is closing up shop.
Edit: not sure if I like that idea or not. Our luck has been pretty good and I like the bigger payout. Anybody else think that too?

Agreed blockchain is a bit unreliable in identifying the block finder summary, blocktrail.com is glorious Also Kano love the pool, really impressed with the pool and proxy you and con have developed, its a honor to mine at your pool. Ill be grabbing some more rigs soon, hopefully bitmain will reduce the s5's they have to around 1/1.2btc and ill grab a couple, hopefully, I mean if this BTCGuild and all the pools shutting down I can grab a few preowned unit so win win.

AFAIK there is no restriction on what sort of wallet you receive your payouts to.

does this pool allow online wallets?
That purely depends on the online wallet, not the pool. Edit: i.e. them allowing multiple payouts to a single address. You can't guarantee to be able to change the address every block, since I payout to the address you have when the block is found.

I like the big payouts, but more frequent smaller payouts are just as fine. If it means that the bad luck stretches last a week instead of a month, I'm all for it! On the other hand, having a N range of 13 days is nice when the rig unexpectedly goes down for a couple hours for a Internet/power outage or whatever (less lost).

A little OT for here, but why do you intend to use an online/hosted wallet instead of offline/owned wallet?

Hello Guys !! I have a question. Last few days I'm having problems with my Antminer S2, it keeps shutting down after few hours of mining at kano pool. I was just wondering about block % stat: if for example I have 0,05% participation in specific block then how long it will take to reach 0% after Antminer shutdown? Is it proportional? I mean: block mining time = time to reach 0% of block shares? It's just my curiosity

fair enough. there are other wallets that wouldnt require the full blockchain download. might want to look into that.

I mean: block mining time = time to reach 0% of block shares? It's just my curiosity S2 ... hmm I put out an new S2 firmware/cgminer recently. https://github.com/kanoi/cgminer-binaries/tree/master/AntS2Maybe if it keeps shutting down, it may be worth running it a bit slower? As for share rewards ... The block statistics on the workers page are not directly related to reward. They show how you have mined during the current block and reset the counters (except "Last Share") each time we find a block - as do the "Shares:" and "Invalids:" in the top left of the web site header. The Shift stats are what is used to determine your reward. Any share you submit gets rewarded in each block found in the 500% (plus a bit) after the share was submitted. That 500% is: the shift the block was found in plus all shifts prior to it back until it is >= 500% - which is about 13 days at the moment. So stopping and starting mining doesn't affect the shares you have already submitted.
