Quick question on rig renting.

Newbie here, so please be gentle Smiley Can rig renting be profitable with CKPOOL?

What I am asking is, what per TH/s price at the current difficulty could be profitable. Some sites are offering rig renting at 0.0048 BTC/TH/Day or even lower. Will this work on the long term (10 days, 30 days, 3 mts)?

Let's say I rent 5TH/s at 0.025 per day? What could a potential profit per day be from that if I let's say rent it for 30 days. I do understand that difficulty can change, which can skew the profits.

Can rig rental profit at all at the long term? I appreciate your answers.

Not long term.  The math is against that.

At current payouts you need to rent at .0043 for odds to be in your favor.

I am starting to think I'm jinxed.... Every time I do a quick rent bump... We seem to get 2 200% blocks in a row.   Then it definitely isn't profitable.  Can work the other way too of course.   Like in all this.... Lucky lady smiles or slaps your face.

Your .0043 number did you take the next difficulty in already.  As my calcs are around .0047 at 100% and fees and currently on niceh can easily rent for .0046

Hi,

Can you please let me know how did you calculated rental rate to achieve profitability. What is the formula?

Thank you. I appreciate it.

Irregardless of whether renting hashrate is profitable or not, is there at least a decent place to rent from that is trusted and easy to use?

Beware of scammers.

Nicehash works well and only pay for pool confirmed shares.

With normal luck 1 TH would mine 0.00484121 BTC per day so base your rentals off of this number for this difficulty adjustment.  Rentals less than this (<.0048 BTC/TH) with good luck will make a profit, and anything more than that per TH and bad luck will be a negative return.

Here you see my payouts of some last found blocks on kano.is . I am mining more than a year now on kano.is with 1.5 to 1.67 TH/s for the last 9 months (before that is varied from 1.5 to 5TH/s). Kano is the most stable and best performing pool there is, at least that is my experience.

Thanks for the answers guys. I appreciate it.

I will give it a try for a while. For the Nice Hash rental, do I need to put anything in the worker management value, or leave it at default, which is 0?

Thanks

I think you will need to set it above what nicehash minimum is or you will get "difficulty too low" error. It will depend on your hashrate you buy I'm guessing. I just rented from there at .0046 with a max of 50TH/s and set initial difficulty to 3000, but it has since adjusted automatically to much higher.

Beware of scammers.

There is nothing I can do on the NiceHash to force the difficulty. Only option is on the CKPool side, which I left at 0.

Currently, on my 9TH/s rental,  worker difficulty is 8.053k.

Haven't received any dead miner or low hash rate warning from ckpool-monitor, so everything must be good. Just checked, all (Cool are alive and hashing.

Anyone have a screen shot of an S5/S7 config page filled out with registered user for this pool? I'm not home and can't access my network. Trying to help a friend configure his rigs for here and he's having a problem connecting.
Anyway, Happy New Year. Stay safe.

Yep Smiley
Here's the details:

The problem with not-so-nice-hash is that they will point who knows what miners to cover your order.
Each miner pointed at the pool will get it's difficulty adjusted to 18 SPM (share per minute) but a minimum of Diff 42.

If you wish to have it higher no matter what problems there are at not-so-nice-hash and what hash rate they drop down to and cause the problem themselves, then set the "Minimum Diff" for the workers in the Workers->Management page.
(yeah not-so-nice-hash clearly have no idea what they are doing when they drop their hash rate drastically but expect the pool to not adjust the work diff downwards also ...)

Note however, that you need to mine to the worker first, to create that worker.
So the other options are: to quickly change "Minimum Diff" after the worker is created when the mining starts,
or either of:
use a worker you already have created
or create a worker with your own miners
and set the "Minimum Diff" on that/those workers before pointing not-so-nice-hash at them.
