AVALON6 GIVEAWAY is very close!
The contest has started but we wont know who wins which prize until the first block is mined on the network in April (UTC time). However this block could be in the running for the prize that's assigned the highest CDF (assuming a valid contest miners gets this block). Yeah it got a high CDF, but the miner is over 250THs so the (low and) high CDF are still awaiting a block. I think I missed the March rules, low and high Diff for the full month with 1 A6 as prize, whats the other prize assuming the low and high miners are both winners. The March contest is also not the first miner that hits a block...we won't know for sure who wins the Avalon6 until the end of the month or actually until April 1st...it's a genius idea! See kano's announcement... https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=789369.msg14042677#msg14042677Edit: The other prize is as quoting kano: Of those 2 leaders, one will win the Avalon A6 and the runner up I'll give my pool fee from the first pool block of April .. it's a bit over 0.125 BTC, not a lot but better than nothing - enough to buy a very nice bottle of wine or spirits

Missed a bunch of posts as I was traveling and could not find the details, but all set now!

Kano, I was wanting to know if I could run a local ckpool node on my network to point my miners to, much the same way I had a local p2pool node set up on my local network. With p2pool, as you well know, I can connect to someone elses pool, or I could set up my own and use it, which I did. What CKProxy, or where can I read about that? I am just wanting to see if there is a way I can run my miners more efficiently. Thanks, Tom Is it possible for me to have my own node for CKPool similar to the node I set up for p2pool?
You can run a ckproxy node to point all of your miners to, usually those on a local LAN... not an actual pool node though... unless Kano wants to let you run one... but I don't see any reason or need for him to do this though Yeah he can't run a ckpool node, but I've no idea what that has to do with p2pool Yeah maybe you mean a proxy? P2Pool can't talk to any other pool. CKPool code (which includes ckproxy mode) https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=790323.0

@thedreamer is your red line average above 250 TH/s?
I suspect they're over since looking at the pool stats I see they're pushing over 500THs at the moment. Besides, 120+% diff most likely won't be the high or low for the contest. Wouldn't be bad if it was the high, tho!! Yeah usually is. Glad I hit one though. Still. Even if I were to win one, I'd pass on it and give it to the next best person who deserves it. I have no room no power to use more miners. no room....no power to use more miners.? Wow...what a terrible situation is that? :-)

There's a change on the web site for anyone who has an oulook.com, live.com or hotmail.com email address. I've already been blocking people from creating new accounts with a hotmail.com email address for a while. However, all 3 of outlook, hotmail and live are handled the same way by microsoft. So I've made the block on all 3 now. Also, however, if your account already has an email address from any of those 3, the web site now requires you to change it before it will let you make any changes to your user settings. Again, microsoft has blocked email from the pool, and again it's using a sub-net block, not a spam server block. Basically this means that they are using a low quality spam blocking service that blocks C-Class or bigger sections of the internet rather than just the servers that send spam. That large section (probably a C class subnet of 256 IP addresses) includes the pool's email server. So most likely there is a spam server near the pool and microsoft has shot and killed anyone near them ... you stand in the vicinity of someone guilty and they'll shoot you also, even though they know exactly who is guilty

Block by jmww! Not a competition block but thank you for hitting your first block on kano! You have made it to the Acclaim board! Edit: I'm just guessing about it not being a competition block as that task falls to kano alone.

Edit: I'm just guessing about it not being a competition block as that task falls to kano alone. i guess so, he running 700t/s That could get tricky unless you could actually see his red line...you could add a 500THs rental and it would take a while to push your red line up above the limit if you started somewhere around 50TH...that's just another reason we need kano around

It's your hash rate when you find a block (or specifically, the red line on your 'all' shift graph) Where you get hash rate from is your choice

After a few days of debating, I decided to bring over my miners for a little while, potentially until the end of the month or later. I'm not a big hash miner but I am a duration miner, when I join a pool, I stay forever until I find problems. Not moved yet, I will hash until noon my time, as I got more important fish to fry right before then and like to schedule everything. If there are no connectivity issues, as far as connectING and remaining connectED... I'll hash until the end of the month, should give me an idea or what to expect. I dislike moving my miners at any given time, I usually do it on Mondays but I feel F2Pool's isn't taking all my hashing power efficiently enough... not to my liking anyways. I'll admit, I'm usually a big pool miner but mining is my career and I am damn good at it, I do better on large, stable pools; AntPool was this until now until I noticed their making empty blocks. This pool was recommended to me on the AntPool thread... I hope Bitmain will resolve the issue because the pool makes best use of my hash power. I mined every pool except this one I think... due to the fact that there was too little hash power; now it's rivalry to many big-shot pools so makes it a serious contender for my business. Not sure of not having merge mining will make a difference but there is a few more days for me to test and differ earnings; do some math so to say. I'm not a big hasher by any means but if people see me join here, maybe others will follow suit; This is my third year mining... virtually non-stop. To me it's all about the almighty dollar. Now I see I could win Avalon miners, nice, I used to own an avalon miner I won't likely find a block but then again, the guy who won the last one, has around the same hash power I do. I like the idea of prizes and sharing the tx fees; great way to retain business for new pools and steal some from old ones ;p
