I still can't figure out why someone would pay $800+ for an S7 on eBay when you can get a brand new one from Bitmain for less. When I ordered mine, it took less than a week to arrive here in the U.S. No problems with customs, etc. Very smooth and easy. You could probably do pretty well buying a bunch from Bitmain and turning them around on eBay.

S7: $665 + shipping ($50) + tax (10-25%)

= USD 786.50 with 10% tax
= USD 893.75 with 25% tax

If it passes a boarder, the carrier (UPS/DPD,...) is charging again on top of that . So depending where you are living, USD 800+ can be a good deal. There isn't much difference in a used and a new S7 (its not a car Wink).
There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

Dont forget time in transit either. I only bought 1 s7 from bitmain, my other 6 were from ebay. Because I calculated a $7 a day loss for time in transit as well. Some of my machines I got as quick as 2 business days. From China to the east coast of the US is 10 business days minimum.

That was exactly my thinking when I purchased my S7 for $1100. I figured people didn't have any btc and didn't know how to buy btc. They were selling on eBay for $1400 when I placed my S7 order but by the time I received it and set it up for testing, the prices had dropped. Like the gold rush of the 1800s, I thought I could make few bucks selling "shovels" to the miners (people who sold shovels, pick axes, sifters etc. made much more than the guys panning for gold. Levi Strauss made a fortune selling sturdy pants made of canvas). I would advise anyone who  thinks they could buy new S7s and flip them on eBay to be very, very cautious.

We need a block party soon these back to back long blocks are brutal.

As far a ebay i set it to only accept paypal. This prevent the charge back and always send with sig required. I have a dummy account on antpool that i set a worker for each miner i sell so when it boots up it starts mining there. I screen shot it and use incase they claim its broken.

Sold an s2 that the person used for 3 months before trying to file a claim. Denied it and refused return, claim closed.

You got lucky, i got some dickhead buying my S4 just to swap out his S4 cause his power supply died, and he filed a claim saying i shipped him a defective one. He end up winning because ebay/paypal favors buyer's more, even though i had screenshots of seeing his old settings when i fixed his broken S4 that he shipped to me by me putting in a new power supply. Ever since then, i boycotted ebay and just deal with Craigslist.

As long as their is tracking to the customer and back on returns, ebay can't do anything. They told me "Oh, but we can't really use screenshots as evidence because anyone can photoshop them", and the only reason they won was because of the ebay buyer protection crap, and ebay saying they see a return tracking delivered and is sufficient enough for them since they have no way of proving if I tamper with it or not after it got returned.

So just a heads up, you aren't just dealing with dickhead customers, but also dickheads ebay support, so the odds are against you if you do decide to go to ebay. Just from my experience... Fyi, i have 500+ ebay feedback and 100% feedback. But still lost to the dickhead customer/ebay support team.

I guess there have been so many problems with new S7s that folks prefer buying used units that have already been field tested.  Then they know they will get one that works right out of the box.  I have been lucky, I have 4 batch 1s, a batch 10, and 2 batch 11s that all turned out to be rock stars in my book...on specs and not a bit of problems.

Same here.
Buyer received it, fired it up sent me a screen shot of it hashing to his pool (bad quality but I could see it). Next day I get the money taken out of my account with NO NOTICE. I refused the return as I had screenshots of the mienr hashing away 100% until the time of shipment. EBAY did not care. He sent me the unit back damaged and had the BALLS to even send me a splitter (PCIe) back that had a broken lead and was charred on one end. FIred the miner up and it was trying to mine at 700MH vs 600MH (stock). So dbag (Brian Surguy of Annapolis, MD.)trie dto OC it, fried it, returned it, got his FULL money back, got I lost the $$$, have an S7 working at %67 (pretty good still - 2.8GH+@ 750watts), Bitmaintech is not responding to my attempts at contact  so they are still the PoS company they were last year.. Ohh yeah and Ebay is still trying to collect on 2x the selling fees, even though it was refunded, and my perfect selling record over years of selling on there(above average verified account) has one negative feedback now... Go figure.. Fing. AHOLES.

ugg what is up with these last few days of 1-2 blocks. we grew in size and went down in blocks.

I use 2 accounts for ebay and amazon 1 for selling 1 for buying. the selling is linked to an account that I take the money from instantly so there is nothing for them to take from.

Insure your packages. Claim the damage in transit. I literally just sold my sp20e on ebay. Was functioning perfectly, buyer received it, nothing. Machine would blink, and not wake up to mine. Claim filed via ebay shipping insurance, refunded three business days later. Sorry for the OT posts, done now  Smiley

When their website works.  I checked a couple days ago and their price was over $1000.

Funny how since the last long block we lost 10+PH of hashes.

It's a Pain (I'm down quite a lot myself) but have to push through this damn thing.

They don't realize that leaving during a slow block is the WORST you can do, unless you're getting out of mining for a longer period.
If you leave during a slow-streak, once your 5Nd catches up and we hit blocks, you will have literally mined for nothing and lose any chance to make up for the losses.

With growing support from leading companies such as Coinbase which are running various tests to evaluate the efficiency of Bitcoin Classic and the 2 megabyte Classic chain, it is highly likely that the Classic chain could co-exist with the core chain in the future. If this happens, wallet platforms and exchanges will support both chains and verify the transactions from the Core and Classic chains.

However, Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong recently emphasized that historically, when a split chain occurred, the minority was eliminated in a matter of hours. Armstrong predicts that the same would happen for the Core chain if Classic becomes activated.
