probably off topic but I believe experts are here.
I have access to a cold room. The temp is around 4 Celcius, and thinking of running my miners in it. Any opinions or experience?
The S9/T9 temp in the specs is 0 to 40 Celcius.
thanks.

In my experience air flow is more important than air cooling. do you have a way to draw the heat produced by the miners out of the room?

I know this topic does not belong here but I was wandering if you guys can help me out .
I am getting my first 20 d3 miners by Monday and wanted to set up at least 2 pools. I tried researching it an the only one found alive was suprnova.cc. however, I am unable to register on their site since their captcha does not work.
Yeah of course I deleted the replies about mining somewhere else Tongue
If you want to reply about such stuff then do that in PM not here.

Ja, is OT, especially since there are a ton of threads about s9 cooling in the hardware area.
That said, OK -- the room is around 4C:
Why? Is it a large walk-in refrigerator? Remember, a storage refrigerator or freezer is NOT sized to remove a lot of heat being added to what is inside. Mainly they are made to KEEP things cold with just a little reserve margin.
.
Is it mechanical refrigeration (A/C) for another reason?
If it *is* A/C -- what is the systems cooling capacity?
You do realize that miners are pretty much perfect space heaters right?

Considering that if using a nice ballpark power of 1.5kW for EACH s9, that equates to 4,712BTU/hr added heat load in that cold room. Got a hunch that with a few miners in there it won't be cold for long...

Quite true but -- having a reasonable handle on Human Nature I suspect that is not the case here. Sooo, giving them something to consider before proceeding...

pulling cold dry air through the machines is great. as long as the hot dry air coming out the other side has somewhere to go.

Oh well, if he meant something like a meat locker - then yeah that's not gonna work as matscol mentioned above also.

Hey everyone! Long time lurker here. I migrated over 600th from our farm into the pool over the last few days, part of which is coming from all 8 of the 741's we have.
I thought it was only appropriate to put those into Kano.  Wink

Good luck to us all! With difficulty going up 20% this time around, we're going to need it.

It all depends on the size of the room as well and the number of the miners.  If you just put one or 2 in it it might hold up but if you add more the room will heat up really quick and you will have to have some kind of airflow going through it.  Just connect a hose to each miner and point them out, they sell adapters for that as well.  Then the room temp will stay pretty much the same.  Smiley

Welcome aboard Smiley

Yeah we seem to be getting more miners coming online now thanks to deliveries from Canaan; but also long awaited deliveries from Bitmain finally starting to show up after s number of months of delays there ...
We've gone over 90PHs today, I wonder if we'll get to 100 soon Smiley

I've put the thread title up to 85 ... but will give it a few days before I update it to 90
