Nonsense, past results have no bearing on future outcomes. Don't mix statistics with feelings, it don't work!
Its good to know that past performance has no bearing on future performance; this is my first full 24-hour nonstop run since I got my first asic miner (and first time trying out Kano pool too). I must admit though, I have had thoughts like "wtf is going on here" with the Kano pool & 45+ hours since the last block but I have to keep reminding myself to "mine on" and the next Kano pool block it could hit any time! If you look back a few days you'll see we got 5 or 6 blocks in one day. Variance means there will be good days and bad days. This is one of the bad ones. M

hey everyone,
i have 2 S9's pointed to the Kano pool, to test the waters, before making a decision for another 8, and another 10 next month, for a total of 20. activity is pretty quiet, and the total hash is down from 120K THs to below 100K in 2 days, so people are leaving...
any thoughts on weather i should wait it out and even go 'all-in' with Kano, or weather i should spread between several pool?
our normal rate is in the 90PH range. Last week or so the range has been jumping from the 90's to 118 and back, not sure why, but do some reading back to see how the pool works before you join. This pool rewards you for the longer you stick with it but it takes time to get to your optimum payout to prevent pool hoppers from; well pool hopping. If you read back some you will see the good and bad of the pool but it takes time to see if you like it. InternationalRescue is back up with his ~21 p/h again and pushing the pool hashrate back up to 118 P/h range again -- maybe this will be the boost we need to break thru this streak of bad luck? Fingers crossed!

That is encouraging to hear that this isn't too bad... I mentioned above that I just started mining on this pool for the first time (~30 hours ago in the middle of this no-blocks-period), so I guess I don't have a good frame of reference yet on what kind of luck is in the pool and where it is streaking lol I wish I would have started mining on Kano pool several days ago so I could've shared the multi-block days experience. I will be patient and look forward to when we solve the next one.

3 things ... 1) I know who internationalrescue is ... and their hash rate fluctuations have nothing at all to do with the pool ... there's nothing wrong with the pool, so people posting comments about connection issues need to check the connections where their miners are 2) I know who Akihabara is also ... 3) Time for that CDF table again 0.39346934028737 50.000% 1 in 1.6 0.63212055882856 100.000% 1 in 2.7 0.77686983985157 150.000% 1 in 4.5 0.86466471676339 200.000% 1 in 7.4 0.95021293163214 300.000% 1 in 20.1 0.98168436111127 400.000% 1 in 54.6 0.99326205300091 500.000% 1 in 148.4 0.99752124782333 600.000% 1 in 403.4 0.99872735771441 666.666% 1 in 785.8 0.99908811803445 700.000% 1 in 1096.6 0.99966453737210 800.000% 1 in 2981.0 0.99987659019591 900.000% 1 in 8103.1
So we expect, on average, over a long period of time, 1 in 54.6 block to be over 400% Yeah they're not that rare.

Seriously, I suggest checking out the graphs on the kano.is website. It shows all the info about prior blocks, including luck for each one. It's very informative. M

Meanwhile On the subject of connections: at the NL node, the provider has (just) notified me that they will be undertaking some network maintenance from UTC 00:00 until UTC 01:00 (in a bit over 2 hours) This means that there is a possibility of a short failover during that time period on the NL node. The NL node currently connects over 40 PHs so if there is a short failover during that time, we'll certainly see it on the graph. (but of course I'll know about it if it happens also)

M Thanks, I have poured over (and tried to understand) just about every graph on the site -- they are a great resource. I'm not worried in the least bit, just the anticipation is killing me hahaha. Plus I am still reading up on the various mining pool/math terminology and trying to figure out what everything means. What does it all mean, Bazzle?

Is anyone an Avalon 6 guru? Or point me in the right direction. I purchased a set from Miner WareZ and cannot get anything to show up in the Avalon2 Dev area of the console. I have tried 3 different AUC2 devices and 2 separate controllers. Thx.

Hi lakerunner22 -- I'm no guru but I too recently purchased rom MinerWarez (however mine was a new Avalon 741 miner) and after 3-4 days of fiddling with different things finally got everything running smoothly. When you say you purchased a "a set" of "Avalon 6['s]" I presume you are talking about the used Avalons they have on the used section of their web site? The problems I faced were probably different than yours (mine were psu related). Did you have to re-apply firmware to the controller(s)? Miner warez hasn't been great at all about getting back to replies -- each time I have gotten a reply from them I've had to submit a new message from their web site....

I only started running 741's, but you may want to try opening a support ticket on Canaan's website as minerwarez, is only a distributor. They can help with shipping related stuff but probably not so much with setup issues. Hope this helps. If you do have minerwarez issues there us this thread for them https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2277516.0

Hopefully there will be no more disconnects over the rest of the hour and they've finished the work ... we'll see.

To help put things in perspective ... have a look at your "best share" in your miners, if you are able to. Mine is 8,352,059,881. Minimum required for a block is 1,196,792,694,098. ... Also, the next difficulty change is in about a week. The amount keeps decreasing as the date gets closer, but it's still scary high at 18.5% right now. M

PM me. I can maybe help. I ran A6s for quite a while before moving to the 700's. I need to know: What power supply(s) you're using What RPi you're using...if more than one, are they both the same... Where you got the AUC converters We can hash this out (pun intended). Elaine
