network effect assumes usage for something other than trading/buying more mining equipment. has there really been enough of an increase in non-mining/trading related transactions to justify the 10x price move?
There's been trading and buying more equipment going on since the first dedicated SHA256 hardware came out and the first big exchanges came out. Yet not until this year did price skyrocket. Furthermore, there are lots of people who've been holding since acquiring at a much much lower price who have now redeemed for profit. Yet the price continues to climb. I'm guessing there are very large economical factors going on in the world that for some reason is causing people to buy BTC. M

Power cables on my S7 melted/burnt and i think it killed two of the blades...
Still tryng to figure out how/why, but it may have something to do with the tree that fell on the neighbors powerlines the other day.
I don't know how long you've been running that S7, but I know I had a serious issue with some crap power pigtails that caused arcing and melting at the power connectors, etc. It wasn't the S7's fault. I now never use anything but a full set of six wires on every connector. One bad or corroded ground wire on a two-wire connector is all it takes to overload the insulator material.

I know this may not be the best place to ask, but this is the only thread i am actually engaged with on this forum.
---> Where is the best place to buy a S9?
Im not going to buy one on ebay for the rediculous overcharge, as im not in a hurry to receive it.

If you don't want to overpay for it, then Bitmain is your answer...in BCC terms of course. Are they never going to offer them in BTC again? Only BCC from now on?

So it seems that probably also increases the value of BTC and it's growth into mainstream.

Or make it [0 Ph] . Maybe we all should move to slushpool and fight there against all these Chinese pools. I think it is better to have 1 big EU/US pool than four small pools.
Although I like the low fee of Kano, 1% more or less fee does not matter with the current luck variance and miner hashrate variance.

I just try to be honest about what I think: - I want a reliable income (which will be more reliable / stable when the pool is large enough, such as slushpool) - I don't like the fact a large proportion of btc money is going into China

I would also like him to further explain his comment to you. I found it insulting and bullying.
While I have been and will continue to be a loyal supporter of this Pool, it is still a business. Just because someone's opinion does not match your own, does not give them the right to treat you with disrespect and imply because you are new, your ideas and/or opinions are somehow inferior.

Are you butthurt because your profile says newbie? Should we make this a safe space for you? Maybe the term newbie is a micro aggression and we should petition congress for newbie rights? Newbie lives matter? every pool has bad luck, welcome to bitcoin mining Since January 2017 KanoPool had only one month below 90% PAPPS%, 6 months ABOVE 100%. If my math is correct, that is an average of 114% PAPPS for 2017. This is the best paying bitcoin pool out there.
