So, what's the 5Nd value?
The current Bitcoin network value for Nd is 1,873,105,475,221.6 and thus 5Nd is 9,365,527,376,108.0
Yes 5Nd is a mathematical expression which is (5 X Network difficulty). That is how long shifts are open. That way it is extremely unlikely that a share will go through the entire 5Nd and not get paid, possible but unlikely. I guess my brain cannot connect the terms used like " This is how long shifts are open" 9,365,527,376,108 ? WHat? Seconds, Hours minutes? The reference everyone makes is to "time" on how long they are open, but I cannot seem to make this compute in my head. so 9,365,527,376,108 is not seconds or minutes. Is it 9,365,527,376,108 shares? I know how the number itself is derived ie 5 x Network difficulty, But what units is it? Shares seems to be the only reasonable unit this can be. Uh, yes, it's shares. Current difficulty is the number of shares it takes to find a block at 100% Luck. THANK YOU! This CLEARS the mud. I get it now. each time a block is found, the pool calculates the percentage of shares I submitted of the last 9,365,527,376,108 before the block was found. This "window" of shares moves as time goes forward. So Here is a dumb scenario question. Say I have been mining for2 days, then 5 blocks are found one right after the other, in one day or two. The total shares needed to find the blocks was 5,365,527,376,108. Exactly 4,000,000,000,000 less than 5nD. This would mean that my percentage of those blocks is low because I would have only .03% of 5,365,527,376,108 thus the payout was small too. If I was already mining for a while ( Past the ramp up period ) and I would have more than .03% of the full 5nd - 9,365,527,376,108 because I have been mining 100% of the time, thus payout would be bigger. The only part about this that has a good and bad is if you get a FAT block with a low percentage of shares from myself, and if the next one is a higher percentage of submitted shares on a "skinny" block. Now that wasn't so hard to understand. but it does explain the rest like the red on the shifts graph, and the weird names given to the list of shifts ( A B C D E... with odd names instead of letters. ) I have now officially become an expert! I can see why this works to stop pool hopping, which could kill the pool if people moved a lot of hashing power on and off the pool and if the payouts were done at once when a block was found. Kano is so smart! I know this because it took me an entire day to untangle the math equations :-) ahah

Kano, do you have any estimates of how many will be the fee of the pool when 2018 begin?

Same as it's been since the start...0.9% flat.

To infinity and beyond...on two 741s and one of only 3...nope, make that 4...full nodes in Hawaii...on <30A. (I have other gear on the Hoth ice planet)

Back to exactly the same lowest fee it's been, of all pools worth mining at, 0.9% That's what the pool started at back in 2014, and will stay at. Other pools have been much higher over that time and some have reduced their fees, but still none worth mining at with lower fees than 0.9%

When we find a block, KanoDB counts back shifts until it totals 5Nd difficulty worth of shares. It includes the full shift each time, so the last shift it includes will make the total a little more than 5Nd. That comes up with a total difficulty number a little above 5Nd - call it PD If you were mining in that range you'll also have total difficulty of shares - call it YD Your share of that work is YD / PD So your part of the miner reward (MR) - is MR * (YD / PD) That's the numbers on the Rewards page: PD = "N Diff" YD = "Your N Diff" MR = "Miner Reward" and "Your BTC" is MR * (YD / PD)

Those weird (odd) names given to the list of shifts are the names of anime characters...Kano is a huge anime fan for those who didn't know Awww man, there has got to be a FAQ Section to cover that! or at least a note on that page that explains that. You see, as a new user, there is a whole bunch of info, and when you see 'odd' names that are not referenced anywhere, it makes you wonder. It was only after I saw it repeats that I realized that those are labels for the shifts and the data is for MY contribution. I originally thought it was other miners names listed in the shifts table and that everyone saw the same data on the shift table. So because I am a bit slow, I was confused. I looked for the pattern of the repeating names, with another unique Hex character set and figured it out. But there has to be a FAQ for some of these things, or just an information bubble when you hover the mouse over it that explains some of these " non bitcoin "

FYI to the Members: Coinbase enabled support for BCH today which caused people to freak out and panic sell, nothing good comes from losing ones head when "change" occurs. It is like watching unstable people scream in to the air because they lose an election. Irrational.
Anyway, if you have some reserve, which I did, I took the opportunity to Buy the Dip. BTC dipped below 16K on Coinbase so I bought a little more. So just in case you were wondering why the recent price drop on BTC, that is the reason.
Last time I looked, BCH was trading over 8K, which is very nice since it added another very nice percentage to my overall portfolio. I can now afford to triple up on Hashpower. Diggin it!!
MINE ON WITH KANO-SAN!!!

It is not trading right now at those prices. The system just came online and they are having technical issues. There is no volume and the trade history has been the same for quite some time.

I will definitely pre-order and max out my power. Calling my Electrician Friend in the AM to max out my Power Panel with the remaining slots I have for 220/240. It is time to utilize all that free money and turn it into Canaan A8 Miners!! MINE ON WITH KANO-SAN.

Hearing talks about limiting units like last time. 2 per order isn't going to max out my power grid so maybe my neighbor will have to order some.

They fixed it. Bitcoin $17,038.14 Bitcoin Cash $3,257.38 Ethereum $801.56 Litecoin $334.20 That's still a bit high for a fork that is primarily used by Bitmain. And they use their clout to force people to buy it to get their garbage equipment. What a crazy time we are in. M
