Huh?  Have you also noticed that the pool's hash has increased lately?  Barely any fees in the block we found too, barely over 12.5

Part of it was the block was less than 2 minutes after the one before it so there were minimal transactions fees to share. Grin

At the current hash rate and difficultly are we right at about 1 block per day?  Just checking if I did my quick and dirty math correctly.  I have 96% in 24 hours.

Thanks

That's close...I used 192PH (from the graph) and it came out to 0.90 blocks per day.  Using 199PH is 0.93 blocks per day.

Or use Kano's handy online calculator and know exactly (well as exactly as you can for a random event): http://tradebtc.net/bitcalc.php

should I be worried about the " FAILED"   ?  This particular S9 has one hash board stop working, a reboot fixes it for hours, or even a day, then sometimes  goes back to one board not hashing.... been in operation since Nov 21 2017

I check my S9s 2-3 times a day.  I have several that lose a hashcard which a reboot fixes - for awhile.  Yes, its defective.  No, its not worth sending back to Bitmain.

I wasn’t complaining, just querying as to why my hash rate has increased slightly but the payout was lower. Is this due to the increased pool hashrate so the share has to be split more ? Also in theory more hash rate more volume of blocks ?

Payout per block depends on the pool hash rate.

If the pool hash rate is higher then we expect more blocks per day.

Luck being 100%, if the pool hashrate increases you expect nothing to change - more blocks - less reward per block - same average amount per day.

The reward for the extra miners of course comes from the same blocks.

If anyone interested.. I shut down the miner in question, blew out the dust with a compressor.  Now the test log shows...

chain[5]: All chip cores are opened OK!
Test Patten on chain[5]: OK!
chain[6]: All chip cores are opened OK!
Test Patten on chain[6]: OK!
chain[7]: All chip cores are opened OK!
Test Patten on chain[7]: OK!

Seems to be working fine now.  even the hash rate went up it the 14.2 that it used to be at, rather than the 14.08 while it was having the problem.

Hopefully.
Actually I even switched power supplies. after I cleaned the S9..hmmmm. maybe bad power supply.
