Wow, 95 confirms in 11 hours.  Tomorrow's difficulty change is going to suck.

It is what it is: Difficult. I believe we are currently "teetering" at that point where some people are going to throw in the towel. Especially with the price staying below 10k, the FOMO's of December, and people using outdated equipment, are feeling some pressure. I can almost hear the screeching sound of angry Wives and Girlfriends!!! Ha!!!

Or they can buy those s9's for cheap and catch back up!

I tried to do exactly that and that's even more frustrating.  I didn't wan't to trade any BTC right now as we are in a dip, so I tried to buy direct from buttmain w/usd wire.  Even had the support guy from the bank on the phone while I made the xfer.  Now a week+ buttmain still claims they haven't received anything and the bank swears up and down it was delivered.  Am I literally too damn stoopid to mine bitcoin?  Hell I'm too stoopid to be trusted w/flat currency too I guess.  I mighta flushed most of my profits in a single mouse click.    AAAAAAAARRRRGGGHHH!  Angry

EDIT:  oh ya that mass email that they are dropping prices again was the final kick in the 'nads...looking for a email as to where my money went, and get that...I should change my username to 1dumbass.  Should any of you folks start a post w/"@1dumbass" I will assume you are talking to me!

May be easier to pay them with BTC and then just buy that BTC back with your fiat.

I always pay with Bitcoin.  Fast, easy, and I use coins I mined with.  Twas a bit of a pain when they only accepted Bitcoin Cash, but now things are back to normal.  Well.  Kind of.  I've stopped buying S9s in favor of Avalons.  Now the trick to only do that when Avalon pricing is compariable.  Seems those windows are pretty short.

Mined for a living since 2017.  Dabbled for years before that.

WELL IT WOULD APPEAR that ship has sailed,  what became of my much loved usd?  Some lucky chinese fella got a nice payday cause I inputted his bank ACCT# instead of bitmain's?  I know I double checked the #s.  I'm not too stoopid to type, or copy paste am I?  If so paying w/BTC wouldn't have helped me, would it?

Yea, me to.  I've never tried wiring money to buy miners.  Sorry to hear a horror story like this.

I am sure that it was posted repeatedly, but can anyone help me with this since it is late:

What is a minimal non-dust level here currently?
One S9 produces something like 0.0006 btc/block-is this dust or not?
In other words, can a single S9 hash on a non-dust level at the moment?
Thanks.

Yeah, a single S9 should be fine... but not a S7 - at least per the previous posts on the subject.

so, then it means that "dust" is roughly 0.0002 btc/block, right?

Wow, 95 confirms in 11 hours.  Tomorrow's difficulty change is going to suck.

?

I still dont understand this. Would you care to explain or point where to find an explanation?

Thnx.

BTC is designed to find a block every 10 minutes and it uses the difficulty to control this.  When he says "95 confirms in 11 hours" that would be 95 blocks in 660 minutes or 1 block every 6.9 minutes.  That too fast for bitcoin so the difficulty should go up to adjust this time back up to 10 minutes.  Actually, 11 hours is way too small of a sample but that is the general idea.

The bitcoin network readjusts difficulty every 2016 blocks or approximately every 2 weeks.

Aahhhh, superb explained!  Thanks!
Didn't know it was variable and time related...
So, actually there has been added huge haspower recenly since last difficulty increase. Can i state such?

Dust is below 0.0001 btc per block.

At the moment 0.0001 per block is roughly 1.7TH

Hello again,

I am registered on your site and have ~ $60 worth of dust accumulated, that aside, I can't connect to your sites - any of them.  I'm the same user name I am here.  I'm using the same rig and setting I used in March, but no connection.  Any help would be appreciated.

Concerning cooling.

From what I can see, the best cooling situation is pointing the outflow from your miners directly out a window or other opening.

I converted one of my basement windows to one big screened rectangle and then built a shelf on the wall that was the same height as the lower edge of the basement window. 3 841 and 1 821 are all pointing out that opening and the heat in the basement has dropped considerably and the miners are showing much better cooling. I still have 3 other miners currently in the garage but I may move them back into the basement if I can fix up a second basement window like the first.

The hardest part of the job was making the custom screen to keep bugs, birds, rodents, and cats out of my basement. One of the local hardware stores has a kit where you
can cut the aluminum side pieces to whatever length you need with plastic corner pieces holding everything together.

I had a set of old mini computer boxer fans in the basement window but they pale in comparison to the 160+ CFM fans the miners come with so I just just got them out of the way and have just the screen between the miners and the great outdoors.

My only worry is if the neighbor across from my basement window has issues with the noise. They put up a privacy fence years ago, the wooden slat type, so I don't think that will be an issue.

I had worried I might need to stop mining this summer like I did last summer but it looks promising for continued mining if this setup keeps working as it has been.

There's no ban on your account.

The dust is as I mentioned.

Hi, Kano,
How is the current situation with the account payout consolidation either for a week / month or not for 1 block, but for 5 / 10 / 25 blocks or ever?
