I saw a crazy amount earlier. Forgot to mention something, but it was like 1.8T instead of the 7.8G it is now. I'm trying to remember, but it was like 20%!

No doubt it's a hard time to mine...I'm no where near profitable right now, just trying to get through the hard times. As far as rentals, we've had this conversation. Don't think that's a factor. Alot of miners we lost are in the range between U and me (35-50th) and the big boys (say .5Ph). I'm concerned that those are an important part of the user base. I wish I could look at some other pools hashrate distribution stats for comparison (ie slush), If this is an industry wide issue, then oh well.
I hate to be the one to say it, but it seems possible that some of our hashpower may be going to that other pool now that they are getting closer in size and getting more frequent blocks than before...

That will die down once Halong is done burning in their machines. Well, hopefully in the meantime, Kano can get ASICBoost enabled and 'even the playing field' a little bit. That should create some excitement too considering how many people ask about it and how few pools they work on so far (at least from my understanding).

Yes Halong is indeed ripping off all their buyers by mining over 100PH of their miners for weeks on that pool ... I don't want Halong on this pool - and if they did move here I'd block them. I'm not interested in helping people scam others. Our hash power is not going to that pool ... as I have already pointed out before. Nor is there any 'equaliser' involved in hash rate. As I have pointed out MANY times before, as long as a pool is finding plenty of blocks every 2 weeks (every diff change) the only difference size makes is variance. Variance does NOT mean being rewarded less, it means the amount you get goes up and down more.

Agreed, and when those that do get their 'Halongitosis' miners, they will probably start singing these old lyrics: How long has this been goin' on? [Probably been running for weeks!] [Halong,] has this been goin' ON? [Might as well have bought it used!]
Well, your friends with their fancy persuasions Don't admit that it's part of a scheme, But I can't help but have my suspicions 'Cause I ain't quite as dumb as I seem.

Bitminter is an example of a pool that has similar characteristics to kano pool but much lower hashrate as well as higher fees. If you are looking for a pool to see distribution of miner sizes Bitminter is an example you could use. Their live statistics page can be viewed even without an account. It is not as well organized as Kano's but most of the info is there. I mined there long ago before I found Kano pool.

Hmm. Interesting that we're still better for the month and quarter. I'll take it! Well the year includes October of course. In October we had an 875% block and a 929% block, almost 13 blocks behind target due to those two (those two = 16 blocks behind) and a little good luck in the rest of the blocks in October - and that only shows as a 2% difference in the above numbers, whereas if our luck included that extra 4% (13) blocks for the year, the picture would be the exact opposite. Since then I've removed the probable external cause of that month of bad luck whenever I've come across it (not-nicehash) Anyone who has been mining here since then should be ahead according to those numbers also.

Kano, since you are so great with numbers, did you happen to run your own numbers to compare with what minergain has? I have offered many times to have anyone review the data for accuracy (with no takers), so just curious if you came up with similar numbers or are interested in seeing the raw data? As others may or not know, I started with slush but am exclusively with Kano due to the rewards but even more because of the amazing support and fellow miners.
