We have a few large miners that failover here. They used to mine here consistently but moved on to other pools that let's say don't treat each TH the same. The nice thing is when they failover they are still ramping up and us consistent Kano miners reap the benefits of 5nd. I wonder what pool is that, Viabtc? seems to be the fashionable pps pool nowdays...

I think that's where most of our former hashrate whales are. There are some "bonus's" for those large guys, a decent payout structure; still a higher fee but less variance.
I believe the bonus aspect is why they would be there opposed to slush or other options.

currently viabtc has also discounted their fees up to 70% - depending on hash rate - then the merged mining, even though they are shit coins mostly with enough volume, I am sure it would add up. I think my LTC miners are getting about $1.50 per week in doge lol

Our weekly whale is back! Come ramp up fast and get blocks!
This really makes me look forward to WHALE WEEKENDS!!!*** The reason it's so profitable for the hundreds of us that mine here 24/7 is exactly because of the PPLNS (5Nd)--which we're all fully ramped up on--and when a whale joins for just long enough to get a block or two over the weekend, they've only ramped up 1/5th of the way, for example, so we still get decent percentages of the rewards, but in real-time we get a few more rewards faster than usual. A real-world example from our last Whale Weekend was the equivalent of me running ~90TH/s instead of ~30TH/s! MINE ON WITH KANO-SAN!!!

The BTCest mining pool (<1% fee): KanoPool***PPLNS rewards averaged over the 5Nd to reduce variance***

There were network delays at the web server for a couple of minutes just after 14:00 UTC But they resolved themselves pretty quickly so I didn't have to find out what was going wrong. Seemed to be all OK after that, but I guess you might have seen a hiccough after that caused by whatever caused it in the first place.

Just wanted to share a bit of good news that happened to me today (and for anyone that has an old Antminer R4) this info could potentially help. I had an unexpected good event happen on one of my miners today - my old Antminer R4 - you see a lot of them processing at half rate (4THs instead of 8THs) because one of the two hash boards 'goes bad'. Well that happened to me over 8 moths ago on my R4 and today after a power brown-out my other miners never missed a beat and stayed online working away while the R4 appeared to be working (with one board @ 4THs which it has been for the last 8 months and many hardware reboots) but on Kano.is was showing it wasn't processing any shares and hadn't been for over 19 hours. Usually I do a HARDWARE reset by shutting off the main power supply and turning it back on & that resolves the issue. However this time I instead forced a soft reboot in the Miner Configuration Web GUI, and to my surprise - WOW - the 2nd hashing board CAME BACK TO LIFE! Now the old R4 is back to processing at over 8THs! Just thought I'd share some good mining news. Have a good one & mine on with KANO!

So, I have been mining on Kano with a T9+ and learning this 5Nd thing for a month now and was not even close to getting to the 10.5TH ramp up; I went ahead and "helped it" with a 2nd T9+ and a Bitfily B1+ (Total of 34TH), now my Shift Graph shows roughly the same as the single miner.
Does this mean at next payout I can expect the "full" share of the single 10.5TH miner? Is this way of ramping up quickly ok?

I think i saw that happening to me as well once last year, and i think i did in fact just reboot the controller from console. If you use the firmware from Dec 2018, it should do 8.5THs, or at least it did with my 8T model (600ish mhz boards).

Any relation to this business? Most likely not, i would guess. https://www.engadget.com/2019/06/19/kano-pc-windows-10-coding-computer/Kano is graduating from Raspberry Pi boards. Today, the company is announcing a partnership with Microsoft and unveiling its first build-it-yourself computer that officially runs Windows 10.

This way of ramping up quickly is ok, but it's still going to take you awhile to get up to that 10.5TH average. But, like you said, you'll be getting there quicker than by just mining with the original 10.5TH machine.
