My board has been in UK customs now for eight days    When there supposed to deliver it within 48hrs of it landing in the UK.  I have emailed Royal Mail with the tracking number to find out what's going on.  Last time the board arrived much quicker.

The last package I sent to U.K. cleared customs in one day, however that package was to London.

If there is anything I can do to help let me know, they probably just picked it as a package to open and inspect which they do at random and have not gotten around to processing it yet.

It really depends on the quantity you order, most people who order right now will receive the unit within 2-4 weeks, I have a production run ending at the end of next week and that will knock out a lot of the people who have been waiting.

As far as the tricone Bitstream it is something that we are currently working on, I hope to meet with Eldentyrell next week to take it to the next level.

Sounds good! Just made an order for one Quad. I was curious. How much power does the board need for all 4 daughter cards?  I have a wall wart that outputs power to a molex connector 12V @ 2A and 5V @ 2A. Would a power supply with these specs be enough? It would just be smaller than using the ATX PSU I have set aside for it.

For a total Unit Speed & Efficiency of 800+mhash @ only 40 watts

12V * 2A = 24 Watts

You'd might be fine with 2 cards, but you're nowhere near the complete quad

You will need 10watts of available power for each FPGA chip or as you put it "daughter card"

a full ModMiner Quad uses 40watts.

this has molex connections for 5 units which it will easily power but if you wanted to modify it and add more molex connections to some of the other rails you could get away with 9-10 ModMiner Quads per PSU.

Because of issues with other currencies and my credit card processors, I have removed the ability to change the currency, I would google for a currency calculator to find out how much it is.

yes I charge a flat rate of $30 shipping to everyone, sometimes it cost me less sometimes it cost me more but it all evens out in the end

For Germany I use DHL International express - its much better than USPS in your country.

On a side note, Tom has been very responsive to my emails and tech help. Even with the delays they are still much better than BFL could aspire to be.

FWIW: I ordered 4 Mmod miner quads on June 30th and received them on July 1st. It was a little past the 4 week mark but they did arrive here, the modminers are working well and the tech support has been really helpful as well. I wouldent worry about not receiving what you ordered it will get there it just takes a little time

Also just to note there are many people who will be receiving orders next week after only waiting 2 weeks. It has taken me some time to get caught up but things are starting to move a lot faster now that I have a new domestic supplier of the FPGA chips that can supply the XC6SLX150-3FGG484C chips that I need at a price point that works for me. Typically lead times on FPGA orders from China can take up to 6 weeks and due to numerous reasons they were only trickling in, in very small quantities - I would order 200 chips and I would get 40 here 70 a week later etc etc, now my new supplier is based in the USA and does overnight shipping. I currently bought out all the stock they had but they are getting stock filled back up next week so all is good

yes the rush service,  its extremely expensive theres no doubt about it, a couple of customers have requested a rush service like this because it is guaranteed in 3-5 days.

The 48 hour assembly costs at the manufacturer are astronomical as well as the price for them to supply the FPGA chips.

This is something for a customer who does not care about the price and just wants to get the units right away.

I have actually had people buy these already for uses other than with Bitcoin mining, mostly for their own hobbyist/academic uses. Basically with this configuration you could change the firmware and make it do pretty much anything you wanted, anything that any other FPGA could do. It could certainly act as a open FPGA development platform for whatever, the sky's the limit. The ModMiner quad also has a resale value outside of the Bitcoin world for these purposes or just for the value of the four Spartan-6 XC6SLX150-2FGG484C FPGA Chips themselves as they do have a resell value.

One interesting thing I have been reading about is they are bringing OpenCL to FPGA in the near future which opens up a lot more possibilities.

As far as heating with it - that would not work very well, unlike GPU's FPGA's do not put off a lot of heat
