Horizon Team. Looks like Burstcoin developer left his project. I think you know burstcoin is also NXT clone. It's first HDD mined coin which implemented Smart contracts and autoamted transactions, maybe you are intrested in help this project? Take coin source and develop it/merge with HZ? Dev is inactive since few months last fork was long time ago. Maybe you can talk with community in BCTalk thread? It is innovative and nice coin but seems like is dying

I spoke with some guys from that group before - We had some mutual interest in the AT feature, but it seemed to go unnoticed / not cared about by the community over there. We have had a guy working on our own form of AT (acquired from the NFD merger) and were planning on collaborating, but as you said, they seemed to have died.

The amount of coins you receive from the bounty are determined by how many other nodes are also active. The less nodes, the more the bounty and vice-versa.

I was actually one of them, tho' the fiat I had was too slow in coming for me to buy at ~40 (sigh.)

Strangely, I was buying because the recent plunge of HZ had whittled down my capital reserve for the Assets I'm running. I loaded up so as to have a bigger cushion for my buyback bids.

The team never left. There are some changes with the foundation, but I think this is mostly related to being more effective with funds and such, which is a good thing overall. I am quite certain they/we have a strong interest in Horizon being successful.

Who knows what will happen. Only time will tell with the future of this coin. If it is going to be a success then it will succeed in time. Devs are around it is just that they are busy hopefully with updating and making improvements with the wallet and adding in new features and making a better future for it. I would like to see sites accepting this but seems not many services to use this on yet. Would be nice if I could use coins for other stuff than to mine and trade.

I have a digital service assert for crypto currency promotions, HZCHRONOS. This is actually being used, holding value, and has months booked in advance. Far as I know this is the only successful one of its kind, although others have come and gone elsewhere. (volume is low, but it has spiked up to 15x the starting price briefly, and I will be supporting it long term)

Well am happy for this coin and the progress it is making and also seeing a nice increase in price too. Also after logging into my wallet also found that I have minted a block too. Not much for the block payment but it all adds up when prices do continue to go up like they are doing little bit on the down then going back up. Hoping to see this make some serious progress when rewards are ended and are harder to get hold of. Sure do hope more services become for this coin as would be nice to see places accepting HZ and gets into the top 20 on marketcap.

I got a confirmation from cryptsy that HZ will be added after the 5.0 fork. That's not my main focus though


As bit1 said, after the distribution is over we will have to find new ways to reach new users, keep up the transaction count to give back a bit to our forgers, and get funds to incentivize developers.
A lot of people here got afraid of the foundation after I announced it, but only a handful even took the time to only have a look at it from the inside. For HZ to be successful in the future, we need participation from its community. I just posted this on facebook:

The HZ foundation is the base for all future development on HZ core and shall provide a meeting point for everyone involved and interested in where Horizon will go after distribution is finished.

We currently have a general discussions room, and one for each bitnation, blocknet and hzxchange. Only development happens in two private rooms, and anyone interested in contributing can ask to be added there. That's all right now, new rooms will be created as the need emerges.

All our work focuses on the release of HZ 5.0 right now, which will catch up with NXT 1.5.x and bring along further UI improvements.

Although we have some ideas and code around for new features and services, our capacities are very limited and we cannot release them without extending the team. Which is something we'd love to do, as soon as we find a capable developer willing to work in return for a bit of a completely underrated cryptocurrency. If you know someone with Java, javascript, python, ruby, wordpress, design, or other useful skills send them our way. If you don't, think about how you could get involved in another way. And if it's just giving your qualified opinion

i was messing around and created some assets and i was wondering why i could name several assets the same name.
is there going to be a way in the future of hz so that people can't name assets the same thing it would stop some potential scams.
like if i created hzxchange no one else can, it would have to be hzxchange01 etc so people could tell by looking at it it isn't the original.
it could also give some value and trust to the real asset so to speak.
some kind of database in the blockchain maybe that could store this info?

anyway thats my idea what do you all think.

There's no plan to change that behavior. It may be required for an asset to reissue, in which case they can use the same name for a new asset.
You should always check the asset id, and not rely on the asset name. Also check for latest information from the issuer, he might disappear.
We can't provide reliable data on the blockchain, so we won't show anything on the client.

It was launched in April, but is defunct -at least- since July
- and now it is September. Coinerz was last active yesterday,
but has not posted since July. Perhaps you have to pay him better? [/irony] ;-)

but (as this is a centralized service -with all the responsibilities involved-) please
   * always link back to a discussion,
     ** where a -supposedly- scammer can react to it
     ** or an announcement with explanations for the revocation, etc.
   * "scam" should really only be used when 101% sure, and without any doubts
   * best would be an independent jury, with veto rights, etc. for the (few!) ambiguous cases

... most such decisions would probably be undoubted anyways.
