lol wait.. I change my nickname to that of the hacker for a few minutes as a joke, and this is what I get. Amazing to find this so much time later! I'm known and respected in the Bitcoin community guys, look me up in the OTC WoT. Other people were impersonating B1tcoinz for fun and making lulzy statements under that nick too, if needed I'll dig up the logs but I'm sure this "lead" hasn't gone anywhere.

Just going to leave this here, where it will get more eyes watching it Wink
Well bitlane, I like you so I'll leave you some leads for you to follow...

You can see in this IRC log that BitcoinicaHacker used the usernames B1tcoinz and ageis on IRC http://ibot.rikers.org/20120521.html.gz

Looking for ageis on IRC logs I found some on #postfix IRC channel, which isn't much surprising, given that the dude used an exploited mailserver to pawn Bitcoinica and he's asking questions about, get ready, SASL and authentication stuff.
http://echelog.com/logs/browse/postfix/1321657200
http://echelog.com/logs/browse/postfix/1321743600

Also found an ageis on the IRC Bitcoin dev channel:
http://bitcoinstats.com/irc/bitcoin-dev/logs/2012/04/09/1
http://bitcoinstats.com/irc/bitcoin-dev/logs/2012/04/14/1
And the following that I found on #bitcoin-dev tells me that he's the same ageis on the #postfix

Keep digging...
Every human makes mistakes and this dude is nothing else but human.

Now, if this helps to catch the guy, I want 10k BTC of reward lol

I think we should be extremely careful not to turn this into an baseless witch hunt.  But in case somebody wants to contact I think this seems to be the person you are trying to reach:

Tihan Seale reports that a hearing has been scheduled for November 1st before the High Court of New Zealand towards the liquidation of Bitcoinica LP.

Any word on this?

If you haven't seen it:

As alluded to elsewhere, Wendon Group's petition to the New Zealand High Court to commence formal liquidation was approved on Nov 1. This comes after significant effort and legal expense for which Wendon Group has donated 100% of the cost.

The court appointed the principals of PKF Corporate Recovery & Insolvency to administer the liquidation. It will be their job to return funds to customers to the full extend possible. They will require the cooperation of MtGox and Bitcoinica's managing partners to accomplish this.

It will likely include the value of the coins rather than the coins themselves.  Typically, "things" or "property" are only returned if someone holds a secured interest over them.  Unsecured creditors generally receive a proportion of the value they are owed.

And yes, liquidation is a time consuming process.

All I can say is that this is Bitcoin. I don't believe it until I see six confirmations.

For those of you who don't know yet PKFCR is the company handling the liquidation. For details please visit the thread that follows https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=126847.0
