Hello,

I could use some assistance.  I am trying to sync the blockchain.  When I run factomd without the config the chain won't sync.  It finds peers but won't download the chain.  When I setup a blank config file it starts to download the chain but is stalling frequently.  I'm running windows and followed the guide on the site.  I sent .15 fct as a test and it is showing in the BE.  I also tried to run the wallet with the config it shows "Balances are unavailable;  Wallet is offline" when i remove the config it doesn't show that but does show 0 for the balance.

Running windows 7

Any help would be greatly appreciated or if someone could provide the conf settings that would be great.

As I understand it, Factom is a sidechain of Bitcoin and could be hooked to Bitcoin's blockchain and it uses the Proof-of-Existence concept. What is the advantage of buying the coins called Factoids?

According to different resources the current amount of Factoids is 8,753,502. Is this the final amount and how was this "crooked" amount defined?

I guess with the updates Factom team is making is having a huge impact on the price

It has rose to 260k in 2-3 days from 210k and i hope the same flow will be retained

Hello All,

I would like the thank the factom team for responding to my issue.  If anyone is having the syncing issue and is on Windows I wrote up a quick little batch script to kill the factomd process and restart it.  The wallet will download about 500 blocks and then stop.  I got tired of clicking x every 3 minutes so I decided to be lazy.  That being said, it's over 24 hours with the script running and the blockchian is nearly synced. 
I think the factom team REALLY needs to get a handle on this growing bug.  It's only been out for a few months and it already takes 24 hours+ to fully sync the chain because of that bug.  Imagine how bad it will be a year from now.

That alone will kill the price and make it nearly unusable.  Factom dev team I would suggest making that bug a priority to fix before it gets too out of hand.

Damn, I was lucky! I sold out all my holdings of "top ten" cryptos yesterday & rolled the proceeds into 620 more Factom. I now have 800 total on the way to 1'000.

Are Factoids launching on shapeshift not excitement enough for one day?

All this talk of price and pumps is odd.  You seem to forget that Factoids are not money.  They are a portable software license to prevent spam.

Being on shapeshift gives a low friction way for developers to get started on the live system, without setting up exchange accounts, etc.

Factoids are used to compensate Federated Servers for their work, are they not?  If so, they are MUCH more than portable software licenses to prevent spam.
